Given by Ed and Lorraine Ostrokolowicz THE GIFT OF PEACE We are offered another vision in today s second reading, a vision of the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God (Revelation 21:10). Read between the lines describing the radiant city, and we find that the greatest beauty revealed is the beauty of perfect symmetry and order, a city founded on the faith of the twelve tribes of Israel and the Twelve Apostles, lit only by the glory of God. The first reading and the Gospel are linked to this idealized description of the New Jerusalem. In both we read of distress and disturbance countered by the gift of peace. My peace I give to you, Jesus assures his disciples at the Last Supper. In keeping with that gift, the apostles and elders, in the reading from Acts, decide not to disturb the peace of new Gentile believers. The undue burden of circumcision will not be imposed on them. The second collection this week is for Higher Utility and Energy Costs. Next weekend s second collection is designated for the Parish Obligations to the Diocese. 3 Page 3 CONGRATULATIONS We welcome Sister Mary Amandine Zdrok as she celebrates her 70th anniversary of religious life. A native of our parish, Sister Amandine has served the Church and Catholic Schools in many dioceses of New England. Presently she resides in the convent at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Adams, MA. We wish her good health and many more years of service to the Church. CONFIRMATION We congratulate the following students to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation at 7:00pm on Monday, May 2nd at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church: Magdalena Barszcz, William Davey, Oktawia Gielarowiec, Patryk Kalinowski, Piotr Kicilinski, Sara Kolinski, Nathyn Mendillo, Emily Puchala, Victoria Puczydłowski, Adam Sochacki, Łukasz Wisniewski and Hannah Yash. On May 4th the Vigil of Ascension of the Lord the Devotion to St. Joseph will follow the 5:00pm Mass. Icon of the Divine Mercy - Please consider to bring the Icon of the Divine Mercy into your home to pray the Chaplet with family and friends. Call the rectory to schedule a convenient time. First Friday Adoration- of the Blessed Sacrament will take place after the 7:00am Mass on May 6th and continue throughout the day concluding at 3:00pm with the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy followed by benediction. Adorers are asked to attend at their scheduled time. A Mass will also be celebrated at 7:00 pm in the Polish language. Lottery Drawing - will be held on Saturday, May 7th after 4:00pm Mass in the school cafeteria. Tickets are still available at the rectory or from members of the Parish Council. Light refreshments will be served. Partners in Charity - We are at 71% of our goal and need to raise $9116 to reach our designated quota. Remember that it is only through sacrificial giving, that we can impact others. You may use a pledge card (available in the pew) or use your envelope in your monthly packet. ANTHONY CZARNECKI 50TH ANNIVERSARY Dear Parishioners and Friends - You are cordially invited to attend the celebration of Monsignor Anthony Czarnecki s 50 th Anniversary of His Ordination to the Priesthood. This celebration will take place on Sunday, June 5 th, beginning with a bilingual Mass of Thanksgiving at 11 o clock, in our Basilica. A reception will follow at the PACC Hall on Harris St., Webster. Presidents and chairpersons of organizations will receive formal invitations which they will communicate with their members. This event is open to parishioners, however, no formal invitation will be sent. Tickets are $40pp for buffet of prime rib, chicken, and baked fish. Children s menu of chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese will be offered for children under 12 for $10. Tickets are now available at the rectory on a first come first served basis. Proceeds from this event will benefit the St. Joseph School Gym. MOTHER S DAY Next Sunday, May 8th, we will celebrate Mother s day by honoring our mothers and giving thanks for their influence on our lives. In the Roman Catholic Church this holiday is strongly associated with revering the Virgin Mary. At St. Joseph s all masses are offered for mothers, living and deceased and for the intentions you submitted in your remembrance envelopes. The most precious gift you can offer your mother is the gift of prayer and live up to the values she instilled in you from childhood. Let us remember our mothers for the love they gave us and the sacrifices they made for us. FORTY HOURS DEVOTION We encourage all parishioners to take advantage of these special Eucharistic Days and participate in devotions. The traditional Forty Hours Devotion will be celebrated at our Basilica beginning on Sunday, May 15th after 11:00am Mass with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by private adoration. Singing of the Stearns Vespers will be at 4:00pm followed by benediction. On Monday, the Eucharistic devotion will be combined with the singing of the traditional Litany to the Blessed Mother at 7:00pm with a homily. We will conclude the devotions on Tues., May 17th at 7:00pm ST. JOSEPH ANNUAL FESTIVAL June Seven weeks-to an incredible weekend right here on Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA. To misterium jest treścią całego Okresu Wielkanocnego. Duch Święty nieustannie aktualizuje tajemnicę Paschy Jezusa Chrystusa, czyli Jego odkupieńczej śmierci i zmartwychwstania. Kościół prowadzony przez Ducha Świętego oczekuje na powrót Chrystusa i objawienie się niebieskiego Jeruzalem, w którym każdy z nas ma przygotowane dla siebie miejsce. Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona na pokrycie kosztów utrzymania i energii. Druga kolekta w przyszłym tygodniu będzie przeznaczona na zobowiązania wobec Diecezji. GRATULACJE Witamy serdecznie siostrę Mary Amandine Zdrok, która obchodzi 70 rocznicę złożenia ślubów zakonnych. Siostra urodziła się w naszej parafii i posługiwała w wielu kościołach i szkołach katolickich w Nowej Anglii. Obecnie przebywa w domu zakonnym w parafii św. Stanisława Kostki w Adams, MA. Z okazji jubileuszu życzymy siostrze błogosławieństwa Bożego i wielu lat życia w zdrowiu i pomyślności.

TRYPTYK MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO Bardzo serdecznie zachęcamy do przyjmowania do swoich domów Tryptyku Miłosierdzia Bożego. Jest to wspaniała okazja, aby w Roku Miłosierdzia zbliżyć się do Tajemnicy Bożej Miłości w gronie rodzinnym. Tryptyk można przyjmować na trzy lub siedem dni, w środy lub niedziele. PIERWSZY PIĄTEK Jak w każdy pierwszy piątek miesiąca Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu rozpocznie się po Mszy św. o godz. 7:00 i zakończy Koronką do Miłosierdzia Bożego o godz. 15:00. Serdecznie zapraszamy do indywidualnej adoracji w ciągu dnia. Msza Pierwszopiątkowa po polsku o godz. 19:00 z możliwością spowiedzi pół godz. przed Mszą. LOSOWANIE Już tylko tydzień do losowania Wielkiej Loterii. Kupony nadal są dostępne w biurze parafialnym lub u członków Rady Parafialnej. Losowanie odbędzie się po Mszy św. o godz. 16:00 w sobotę, 7 maja w szkolnej kafeterii. Dla uczestników spotkania przewidziano niewielki poczęstunek. PARTNERS IN CHARITY Z radością informujemy, ze udało nam się zebrać już 71% kwoty na Partners in Charity. Było to możliwe tylko i wyłącznie dzięki wspaniałomyślnej ofiarności tych, którzy chcą wesprzeć potrzebujących. Ufamy, że wzorem lat ubiegłych również i w tym roku uda nam się uzbierać całą kwotę. Parafian, którzy nadal pragną złożyć swoją ofiarę na ten szczytny cel prosimy o skorzystanie z kopert znajdujących się w ławkach lub użyć specjalnych kopert z miesięcznych pakietów. DZIEŃ MATKI W najbliższą niedzielę będziemy obchodzić w Stanach Zjednoczonych Dzień Matki. Nie zapomnijmy w tym dniu podziękować tym wspaniałym kobietom za ich wkład włożony w nasze życie i ich poświęcenie. W naszej parafii uhonorujemy matki odprawiając wszystkie Msze św. tego dnia w ich intencji. Parafianie mogą prosić o modlitwę w intencji matek zapisując je na specjalnych kopertach w miesięcznych pakietach. Modlitwa to najlepszy prezent jaki możemy ofiarować naszym matkom, zwłaszcza tym, które odeszły już do wieczności. Z pewnością sprawimy również ogromna radość naszym matkom jeśli swoim życiem będziemy kultywować i podążać za wartościami, jakie nam wpajały. NABOŻEŃSTWO CZTERDZIESTOGODZINNE Coroczne Nabożeństwo Czterdziestogodzinne rozpoczniemy w niedzielę, 15 maja po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00. Adoracja zakończy się uroczystymi Nieszporami o godz. 16:00 W poniedziałek spotykamy się o godz. 19:00 na Nabożeństwie Eucharystycznym połączonym z Litanią do Matki Bożej. We wtorek gromadzimy się również o godz. 19:00 na uroczystym zakończeniu Adoracji i Nabożeństwa Czterdziestogodzinnego. W tym dniu na uroczystą procesję zapraszamy wszystkie dzieci pierwszokomunijne, ministrantów i organizacje parafialne. JUBILEUSZ 50 LAT KAPŁAŃSTWA Z radością i satysfakcja informujemy, że nasz proboszcz, ks. prałat Antoni Czarnecki w tym roku obchodzi jubileusz 50 lat kapłaństwa. Z tej okazji w niedzielę, 5 czerwca w naszej Bazylice odbędą się uroczystości jubileuszowe. Zapraszamy wszystkich parafian na uroczystą Mszę św. a zaraz po niej na dalszą cześć uroczystości w PACC. Ilość miejsc w PACC jest ograniczona dlatego też prosimy o jak najwcześniejsze zgłaszanie chęci uczestnictwa w uroczystym przyjęciu. Bilety w cenie $40 dla dorosłych oraz $10 dla dzieci do 10 lat są już dostępne na plebanii. FESTIWAL PARAFIALNY Loteria - Pierwsza wygrana - $3000, druga wygrana - $1500, trzecia wygrana - $750. Dla tych, którzy zakupią kupony przed 1 maja okazja wygrania dla 5 osób dodatkowych trzech kuponów na loterię. Spewciali Gift Book Datki i ofiary pieniężne można składać do 18 kwietnia. Pieniądze można składać do koszyka z kolektą w kopercie z napisem Specjal Gift Booth lub przynosić bezpośrednio do biura parafialnego. Już tylko 7 tygodni do festiwalu!
