Our Parish School: We are part of an excellent co-sponsored elementary school: All Saints Academy. For information call: Religious Education For Children: CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building. Confessions: Daily Monday to Saturday following the 7:00 am Mass. Saturday afternoons at 4:00 pm. Sacrament Of The Sick: Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who are ill in the hospital or at home. Marriages: Please make arrangements at least one year in advance. Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass. Baptisms: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish). A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last Sunday in English. Novenas: Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm Mass. Beginning at 2:00 PM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church (Avenue C and 14th Street,) a procession of the Blessed Sacrament will continue uptown to St. Henry s Church for prayers and Benediction at 3:00 PM. This is a Deanery celebration and all parishes are invited to take part. Please plan on joining the procession at 22nd Street and taking part in the closing Benediction. All High School students wishing to be Confirmed next year! There is a mandatory meeting for registration on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please call the rectory. This Sunday is the first of 3 special collections for our summer air conditioning expense. (June 22, July 26, & Aug. 23) Needless to say, the cost for air-conditioning the church is quite high. We are asking everyone to consider increasing what they would normally give to this collection. Thank You! Help us save money! Please close the church doors as you enter and leave. This will preserve the air-conditioned interior. Sunday, July 13, 2014 The Youth Group (assisted by volunteers from the St. John Paul II Society) will be sponsoring their first fund raiser: Americana Picnic! Grilled Hot Dogs & Hamburgers with a Fixings table. Picnic snacks & Cold Beverages. Dessert Table with Hot Beverages. $ for adults $ for children (6-12.) ( 5 and under free.) Raffles, prizes and fun guaranteed! Tickets on sale next weekend. All proceeds go to help our youth attend the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland. Calling All High School Students!! The Mt. Carmel Youth Group meets every Thursday at 6:30 PM in the Parish Center Youth Room. Come join! We will be planning the Americana Picnic fund raiser and other future events. For those in the Confirmation Program next year, you are invited to be part in the Youth Group s plan to be part of the World Youth Day program in Krakow. More will be explained at the June 24 Confirmation registration.

Cleaning out those closets??? Catholic Charities will be installing a clothing collection bin on our property. The bin will be located in the back of our Convent building. They will take clean & usable clothing items, shoes, and small appliances. (No furniture.) All items are refurbished and used in thrift shops to assist those less fortunate than ourselves. The bin should be in place within a week s time. More complete information will be found on the information labels on the bin. Interested in a Pilgrimage? Rev. Joseph Kubiak, OFM Cap. Unfortunately, our bills do not take a vacation! I wept because I had no shoes; until I saw someone who had no feet. Ancient Persian Saying THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI The Body & Blood of Christ We owe today s beautiful feast to a valiant woman who suffered a great deal to establish a feast out of her love for the Eucharist. Juliana was a nun in Belgium in the thirteenth century. She served in a hospital for lepers. She became convinced through her prayer that the liturgical year was incomplete because it had no feast for the Eucharist. Her efforts were not welcome, and a supervising priest sought to punish her for promoting a feast that nobody wanted. He even had her accused of financial mismanagement and banished her from her convent. Shortly after she was exiled, the bishop approved the feast. It quickly spread through Europe. In those days, people very seldom received Holy Communion, and so the processions through the streets with the Eucharistic bread not only led to an awareness of Christ s hunger to be with us, but prepared the way for a deeper desire to receive Christ s Body and Blood in more frequent Communion. The feast grew rapidly, but Juliana disappeared into poverty and a hidden life. She ended her days as an anchoress, a woman living in seclusion in a room attached to a parish church. Imagine her delight at seeing us gathered at the table of the Lord on this day, aware of Christ s presence in our midst, sharing fully in Christ s Body and Blood. Our celebration today invests her struggle and sorrows with dignity and meaning. Come join the procession in Bayonne at 2:00 PM! Golf Anyone?? Uroczystość Najświętszego Ciała i Krwi Chrystusa 22 czerwca 2014 W tym roku, oprócz naszej parafialnej procesji do czterech ołtarzy, która rozpocznie się po Mszy świętej o 10:45 AM, będzie miała miejsce również dekanalna procesja ulicami miasta. Rozpocznie się ona o 2:00 PM w kościele St. Mary Star of the Sea (Avenue C, 14th Street) i będzie zmierzac w stronę St. Henry s Church. Uroczystości zakon czą się o 3:00 PM błogosławieństwem Najświętszym Sakramentem. Do procesji można dołączyć na 22nd Street i wziąć udział chociaż w jej części. Ja jestem chlebem żywym, który zstąpił z nieba. Jeśli kto spożywa ten chleb, będzie żył na wieki. Chlebem, który Ja dam, jest moje Ciało za życie świata. (J 6,51-58) Dziś dzięki składajmy Panu Bogu naszemu za dar Eucharystii - dar obecności wśród nas Chrystusa w postaci pokarmu dającego życie wieczne. Jesteśmy ludem Bożym pielgrzymującym do niebieskiej Ojczyzny. Naszym Panem jest Jezus Chrystus, który wciąż pochyla się nad nami i pomaga nam w drodze. Zna naszą niestałość i niemoc, dlatego sam daje pokarm wzmacniający nasze siły duchowe, daje nam swoje Ciało. Dzisiaj uwielbiamy Go za ten niezwykły dar. Zapraszamy do uczestnictwa w procesji Bożego Ciała!
