School News This Week At St. Francis Borgia School... Something new, Father Robert is offering $500 towards tuition for any school family that recruits a new family to our school. SFB School Registration Open registration for St. Francis Borgia School for the 2017-2018 school year is ongoing. We offer: - 3 Year Old Pre-School - Five Days - Monday Friday Half Day - 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Full Day - 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - 4 Year Old Pre-Kindergarten - Five Days - Monday Friday Half Day - 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Full Day - 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Full Day Kindergarten Monday Friday - 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Grades 1 through 8 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Extended Day Program (EDP) (offered on all days school is in session; this program is tax deductible) 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please stop by the school office (3535 North Panama) on any regular school day to register your child/ ren. Please bring an original birth certificate (including birth number) and baptismal certificate. Copies of your documents will be made in the school office. RESPECT LIFE Pope Benedict on Life The causes that lead to such painful decisions as abortion are of course many and complex. If, on the one hand, faithful to her Lord's commandment, the Church never tires of reaffirming that the sacred value of every human being's life originates in the Creator's plan, on the other hand, she encourages the promotion of every initiative in support of women and families in order to create the favorable conditions in which to welcome life, and the protection of the family institution founded on the marriage between a man and a woman. Not only has permitting recourse to the termination of pregnancy not solved the problems that afflict many women and a fair number of families, but it has also made another wound in our society, unfortunately, already burdened by deep suffering (Address of Pope Benedict XVI to Italy s Pro-life Movement, May 12, 2008). The St. Francis Borgia Religious Education Program is accepting registration for the 2017-2018 school year in the RE Office, Schoolroom 101. The tuition is $250 for 1 child and $300 for 2 or more children per family plus a $50 registration fee per child which covers books and supplies. Classes meet weekly during the school year; Grades 1-5 meet on Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and Grades 6-8 on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The registration fee after August 1, 2017, will increase to $75 per child. Registration forms are available in the RE Office, Rectory and in the Church. The registration form/payment may be mailed, brought to the Religious Education or Rectory Office, or put in the Sunday Mass collection. First day of class and Parents Open House for Grades 6-8 will be Tuesday, September 5, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and for Grades 1-5 on Saturday, September 9, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. New registrants must provide a Baptismal certificate at the time of registration. Please invite your neighbors and friends to enroll their children in our Religious Education Program. Once again, we have an opportunity to help children who have been the victims of sexual abuse. Buy a new backpack and stuff it with brand new school supplies. You can drop the backpacks off at the Stokes Center ANY SUNDAY in August. A list of school supplies is available in the back of the church and on the website for the Catholic Office of the Deaf: deafchurchchicago.org The children s school ages are through high school, boys and girls. Kindly hold your unneeded but still usable clothing and household items for this event. Please ask your families and friends to do the same. This is a great opportunity for you to help your community and your parish. The more goods we have, the more good we can do. For more information call Connie Castillo at 773-589-1857 First Friday of the Month Devotion The next First Friday Mass will be August 4th at 8:30 am. Confessions will be heard from 8:00 am. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place immediately following the 8:30 am Mass. We will pray the Litany of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for new and holy vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. Also in the evening, there will be an opportunity for Confession, bilingual, from 6:00 pm followed by the 7:00 pm Mass in Polish in the Church.

Prosimy o zgłoszenie do biura parafialnego chorych których Kapłan odwiedza w pierwszy piątek miesiąca. "Odpowiadajcie Mu zatem miłością na miłość i nigdy nie zapominajcie o Tym, którego miłość do was pchnęła aż do śmierci" /św.małgorzata Maria/ Pierwsza Sobota Miesiąca - 5 sierpnia 6:00 pm Różaniec; 6:30 pm - Msza Św. i Nowenna do Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej. Po Mszy Św. zmiana tajemnic różańcowych. W każdą pierwszą sobotę miesiąca Msza Święta o 6:30 pm jest zaliczona jako Msza niedzielna. Pamiętajmy, że sobotnia Msza Święta z niedzieli przeznaczona jest dla tych, którzy z niezależnych od nich przyczyn (a nie dla własnej wygody) nie mogą uczestniczyć w niedzielnej Mszy świętej. Po Mszy Świętej będzie odprawiana Nowenna do Matki Bożej. Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych Bardzo prosimy o zgłaszanie chorych, którzy nie mogą samodzielnie przychodzić do kościoła lub przebywają w szpitalu, do biura parafialnego. Księża nawiedzają chorych parafian z posługą sakramentalną. Kościół wierzy i wyznaje, że wśród siedmiu sakramentów istnieje jeden specjalnie przeznaczony do umocnienia osób dotkniętych chorobą namaszczenie chorych. Namaszczenie chorych "nie jest sakramentem przeznaczonym tylko dla tych, którzy znajdują się w ostatecznym niebezpieczeństwie utraty życia. Zatem pora na przyjęcie tego sakramentu jest już wówczas, gdy wiernym zaczyna grozić niebezpieczeństwo śmierci z powodu choroby lub starości". Kościół naucza, że jest to sakrament umocnienia i uzdrowienia. Nabożeństwo ku czci Boga Ojca... W każdą pierwszą niedzielę miesiąca w naszej parafii o godz. 1:30 pm odprawiana jest Msza Św. ku czci Boga Ojca przebłagalna za grzechy całego świata. Bezpośrednio po Mszy Św. odbywa się Nabożeństwo z wystawieniem Najświętszego Sakramentu, na które wszystkich serdecznie zapraszamy. Nauka religii w języku polskim w Parafii Św. Franciszka Borgia Trwają zapisy na lekcje religii w języku polskim. W programie przygotowanie do I Komunii Św. oraz do Bierzmowania. Nasz ubiór w kościele to nie tylko manifestacja naszego szacunku dla Boga, ale również szacunku dla innych wiernych - obowiązek, który podpowiada nam przykazanie miłości. To również świadectwo naszej wiary, swoista ewangelizacja w stosunku do tych, którzy w niedzielę do kościoła nie trafili - przypomnienie im o tym katolickim obowiązku, o tym, że to jest niedziela - Dzień Pański.
