School News This Week At St. Francis Borgia School... Week of September 4, 2017 A Note From the Principal Happy Labor Day! There will be no school on Monday, September 4th. Tuesday, September 5th, is our first Hot Dog Day compliments of the Parents' Association. All of our Hot Dog Days starting in October will be moved to Wednesdays. This has been noted on our school calendar. Wednesday, September 6th is our Parents' Back to School Night. Parents of students in grades 1st through 8th are invited to Mayall Hall at 7:00 PM. There will be a short intro and then parents will visit their child's classroom and meet their teacher. The evening will end at 8:00 PM. The teachers from Pre-School and Kindergarten will not be there because they had their parent orientation the first day of school. Our first all school Mass will be Friday, September 8th at 8:30 AM in the Church. Come join us. There are a lot of great things happening in our building. Consider sending your child to St. Francis Borgia School. Father Robert is generously offering a $500 tuition credit to any school family that brings in a new student. Help us spread the word of our great school. We invite all of our students, their family and friends to come help celebrate the Mass of Father Robert's instillation on Saturday, September 9th at 5:00 PM. There will be a reception following the Mass in the Stokes Center. RESPECT LIFE Pope Francis: Abortion is Not 'Progressive' In November of 2013, Pope Francis issued his Apostolic Exhortation called The Joy of the Gospel. In it, he says, Among the vulnerable for whom the Church wishes to care with particular love and concern are unborn children, the most defenseless and innocent among us. Nowadays efforts are made to deny them their human dignity and to do with them whatever one pleases, taking their lives and passing laws preventing anyone from standing in the way of this Human beings are ends in themselves and never a means of resolving other problems Once this conviction disappears, so do solid and lasting foundations for the defense of human rights It is not progressive to try to resolve problems by eliminating a human life. Together with Pope Francis, let us defend life! TABERNACLE LIGHTS IN MEMORY OF + Adela Łucarz Consider honoring a loved one, living or deceased, by Lighting a Tabernacle Candle (Church, Adoration Chapel or Chapel) Please pray for all those who have died and for their Families
