From the Pastor s Desk... Holy Week, which we begin today symbolizes a picture of our entire life. It includes the joyous and festive Hosanna, as well as, the painful Crucify Him that is echoed on Good Friday. Most importantly is that it concludes with the Resurrection. Palm Sunday reminds us that our entire life is like a procession: on occasion with palm branches and at other times with the cross. It is imperative that we include Christ in these processions. A procession signifies and symbolizes unity and love. Today, I pray that the life of our parish be a significant procession for the glory of God and the good of all of us. We accompany Jesus during His suffering to accomplish the work of salvation by participating in observances during Holy Week. All are invited to the observance on Holy Thursday at 7 pm. It is an important day since it is the day the sacraments of the Eucharist and Holy Orders were established by Jesus. It is also the Mass which joins our entire faith community together. Good Friday has this name since it is the day our salvation was accomplished. Through participation in the Way of the Cross on that day at 3:00 pm and through participating in the Adoration of the Cross at 5:30 pm we show our gratitude to Christ for His gift of salvation. Liturgy on Holy Saturday at 7:30 pm will commemorate our baptisms. All are also welcome to services on Easter Sunday, to be held according to the Sunday schedule. Rev. Richard Milek IN THANKSGIVING FOR ALL DONATIONS TO OUR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (BELL SYSTEM, SANCTUARY RAILINGS, LIGHTING, AND PARKING LOT) Catholic Women s Club Szwajnos Family Klaudia, Jerry, & Vicky Giannini in Memory of Frances C. & William F. Slowik RESPECT LIFE Jesus Death is Our Example Jesus, who upon entering into the world said: "I have come, O God, to do your will" (cf. Heb 10:9), made himself obedient to the Father in everything and, "having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end" (Jn 13:1), giving himself completely for them. He who had come "not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mk 10:45), attains on the Cross the heights of love: "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (Jn 15:13). And he died for us while we were yet sinners (cf. Rom 5:8).In this way Jesus proclaims that life finds its center, its meaning and its fulfillment when it is given up. At this point our meditation becomes praise and thanksgiving, and at the same time urges us to imitate Christ and follow in his footsteps (cf. 1 Pt 2:21). We too are called to give our lives for our brothers and sisters, and thus to realize in the fullness of truth the meaning and destiny of our existence. -- John Paul II (The Gospel of Life, n. 51) GOLDEN CLUB MEETING April 13, 2017 Doors open at 11 am Meeting starts at 1:15 pm Please remember to bring your non-perishable donations for the St. Cyprian pantry. For further information, call Connie Castillo 773 589 1857 The Rectory Office will be closed on Good Friday, April 14th through Easter Monday, April 17th.

Procesja to symbol i znak jedności i miłości. Wieczerzy Pańskiej w Wielki Czwartek o godzinie 7pm. 6:00 pm. Ks. Ryszard Miłek W Wielki Piątek, 14 kwietnia i w Poniedziałek Wielkanocny, 17 kwietnia biuro parafialne będzie zamnknięte. W poniedziałek Wielkanocny, 17 kwietnia będzie Msza Św. w j. polskim o godz. 10:30 rano i 7:00 wieczorem.
