RESPECT LIFE The Second Vatican Council reflects upon the relationship between the coming of Christ and our activity to prepare for it. In the Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, we read, "Far from diminishing our concern to develop this earth, the expectancy of a new earth should spur us on, for it is here that the body of a new human family grows, foreshadowing in some way the age which is to come...when we have spread on earth the fruits of our nature and our enterprise -- human dignity, brotherly communion and freedom -- according to the command of the Lord and in his Spirit, we will find them once again, cleansed this time from the stain of sin, illuminated and transfigured, when Christ presents to his Father an eternal and universal kingdom..." (#39). The Rectory Office will be closed on Monday, February 20th due to President s Day. Pączki Sale Following tradition, there will be a pączki sale before Lent begins after all the masses on Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26. Lenten Regulations (from March 1, 2017, Ash Wednesday, to the Paschal Triduum) Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years old and older on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. Fasting is to be observed on Ash Wednesday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Those who are bound by this may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. The special Paschal fast, as well as abstinence, are prescribed for Good Friday and encouraged for Holy Saturday.

From the Pastor s Desk... The Annual Catholic Appeal is here. This weekend is the Commitment Weekend. Our parish goal for this year is $40,287, and 100% of the additional funds come back to our parish to help support our needs. I would like to encourage you to give generously to the Annual Catholic Appeal, so we could use the additional funds for the projects I mentioned before: Church Lighting, Bell System, and the Parking Lot. I will be generous to the Annual Catholic Appeal knowing that when I support the Archdiocese through the ACA, I also support our parish. Thank you for your generosity and support. Rev. Richard Milek 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal Love Your Neighbor As Yourself This weekend, our parish will be conducting the Annual Catholic Appeal in-pew Commitment Weekend. Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal is much different than a one-time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments. The ACA theme, Love Your Neighbor As Yourself, was selected to remind us that our contributions to the Annual Catholic Appeal enable the funded ministries and services to share God s love with many others in our Parish and our Archdiocese. Each pledge makes a difference because all Parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response.

Msza Św. i Nabożeństwo do Ojca Pio będzie w czwartek, 23 lutego o godz. 7:00 pm w Kościele.
