DZIĘKUJEMY! wszystkim za wsparcie naszej para ii. 40th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood Father Waclaw (Wenceslaus) of St Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Lucjan Lech, is a priest of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers Order. He was born on January 16, 1948 in the locality of Karsy Duze in the parish of Pacanow, Diocese of Kielce, Poland. He completed studies in Philosophy at Poznan and in Theology at Krakow in the Major Seminary of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers. He received his priestly ordination in Krakow on June 21, 1974. In 1980, he graduated from Catholic Academy in Warsaw after studies in canon law. From 1974 to1984, he was involved in catechesis for high school youth and pastoral ministry among university students in Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow, and Lodz. In 1987 he became pastor of the parish Kluszkowce in the Polish Highlanders, in the Archdiocese of Krakow. In 1988, he came to the United States, to the Discalced Carmelite Fathers monastery in Munster, Indiana. He is chaplain of many Polish-American organizations in Chicago and vicinity. He has worked in pastoral ministry among Polish-Americans at the parishes of St. Bruno (1989-1990) and St Priscilla (1994-2003). In August of 2003, he assumed pastoral duties at St. Camillus parish, receiving in October of that year the appointment as administrator of our parish. On October 21, 2004, Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago, appointed Father Waclaw pastor of St. Camillus Parish. We wish our pastor God s blessing, light, and strength as well as the constant protection of the Blessed Mother as he celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Ordinatin to the Priesthood. Jest kapelanem wielu organizacji polonijnych w Chicago i okolicy. Pracował w duszpasterstwie polonijnym przy para iach św. Brunona (1989 1990) oraz św. Pryscilli (1994 2003). W sierpniu 2003 roku podjął obowiązki duszpasterskie w para ii św. Kamila otrzymując w październiku nominację na administratora naszej para ii. W dniu 21 października 2004 roku Arcybiskup Diecezji Chicagowskiej, Ks. Kardynał Francis George mianował Ojca Wacława proboszczem para ii św. Kamila. That may seem odd because they probably looked nothing alike and they had very different personalities and temperaments. Peter worked largely with Jewish Christians and Paul with Gentile Christians. Peter has been connected to preserving the tradition and Paul is remembered for welcoming the freedom of the Spirit. However, both were committed to keeping all the members of Christ s Body united in faith and love. Their faith in Christ, love for the church, and zeal for fostering the unity of the Christian community bind Peter and Paul together as no super icial resemblance could. There is a lesson here for today s Church. We don t all agree about how much to stick to tradition and how much to allow the Spirit to guide the Church onto new paths. Yet both are necessary for continuing Jesus Christ s mission on earth. And Peter and Paul show us that remaining united in love as the one Body of Christ is more important than allowing differences of interpretation to divide us from one another.
