From the Pastor s Desk... The Parish Feast is coming up, and I want to thank You for being part of our Parish Family. In a special way, I want to thank all our voluntaries serving our Parish in different ministries. I want to invite all of them to our Annual Appreciation Dinner that will be held on Saturday, October 10 th in the Stoke Center right after 5:00 pm Mass. I would also like to invite others to be active members of our Parish and sign up for the chosen ministry. It would be a beautiful gift to the Parish celebrating the Feast Day. I would like to ask you to welcome Seminarian Kamil Ziolkowski from the Bishop Abramowicz Seminary, who will be with us on weekends. Fr. Richard Milek I would like to thank you for such a nice welcome during the first day of my ministry in St. Francis Borgia parish and to introduce myself in a few words on the pages of your parish bulletin. As you have already found out, I am a seminarian in the Bishop Abramowicz Seminary in Chicago. I was born in 1994, my childhood and school years I have spent with my family in Jelenia Góra. In Poland, I have already finished two years part of the formation to the priesthood: philosophical studies. Before I came to Chicago, which happened barely month ago, I had been a seminarian in the Warsaw Metropolitan Seminary, preparing myself for the Military Diocese. Hence, you can probably guess, that I am interested in the military and militaria. However, my biggest hobby is writing mostly to a drawer I have already managed to publish two books: Christian Aspects in Harry Potter Saga (Kraków 2013) and a youth novel INRI (Kraków 2015). That s enough about me. Maybe the rest I should leave to our common conversation, which I am looking forward to, and which in what I sincerely believe will enrich us together. I would like to thank you sincerely once more for a such a cordial welcome on last Sunday. I felt the great joy of assigning me to such a great and benevolent parish community, in which I will spend many weeks. Words of gratitude I would like to refer especially to the Host of the parish, Father Pastor Ryszard Milek, who I was able to meet at the beginning of my stay in Chicago. That s why I wasn t surprised by his warmth and kindness, which I have already gotten to know; I was surprised, however, that so far from home it is possible to feel at home. - Seminarian Kamil Ziolkowski Respect Life From Blessed Teresa of Calcutta But I feel a great destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing, direct murder by the mother herself. And we read in the scripture, for God says very clearly. "Even if a mother could forget her child, I will not forget you. I have carved you in the palm of My Hand." We are carved in the palm of His Hand; so close to Him, that unborn child has been carved in the Hand of God. And that is what strikes me most, the beginning of that sentence, that even a mother could forget something impossible but even if she could forget - - "I will not forget you." And today the greatest destroyer of peace is abortion. And we who are standing here our parents wanted us. We would not be here if our parents would do that to us. ZAPRASZAMY!!!
