Jest on autorem 14 encyklik, 15 adhortacji apostolskich, 13 konstytucji apostolskich, 45 listów apostolskich, 29 dokumentów w formie motu proprio oraz tysięcy listów papieskich, przesyłanych z okazji doniosłych wydarzeń. Jan Paweł II w czasie swego pontyfikatu, podczas 148 beatyfikacji ogłosił 1338 błogosławionych. Podczas 51 kanonizacji ogłosił 482 świętych. Jan Paweł II jako pierwszy w dziejach papież beatyfikował małżeństwo, Marię i Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi. Ojciec Święty zapoczątkował szereg inicjatyw duszpasterskich o zasięgu ogólnokościelnym i międzynarodowym. Od 1985 r. podczas obchodów Międzynarodowego Roku Młodzieży Jan Paweł II ustanowił tak zwane Światowe Dni Młodzieży. Co dwa lata natomiast w różnych krajach świata odbywają się zloty młodych z całego świata, aby pod przewodnictwem Ojca Świętego uczestniczyć we wspólnej modlitwie. W dniach 8-9 października 1994 r. w Rzymie odbyło się pierwsze Światowe Spotkanie Rodzin z Następcą Piotra. Od 1993 r. 11 lutego każdego roku w innym sanktuarium maryjnym i na innym kontynencie, z inicjatywy Jana Pawła II obchodzony jest Światowy Dzień Chorego. Ojciec Święty doskonale rozumiał kim dla niego i dla Kościoła są ludzie chorzy i cierpiący. W 1997 r. w Zakopanem Jan Paweł II powiedział: Cierpienie przeżywane z Chrystusem jest najcenniejszym darem i najskuteczniejszą pomocą w apostolstwie. Podczas podróży zagranicznych Jan Paweł II odwiedził 130 krajów i ok. 900 miejscowości i wygłosił ponad 2400 przemówień. Niektóre kraje odwiedził kilkakrotnie m. in. Polskę, Francję, USA, Meksyk, Hiszpanię, czy Portugalię. Jest to wielkie dziedzictwo, z którego chcemy się uczyć chrześcijańskiej drogi, gdzie w centrum jest Bóg, pochylający się nad człowiekiem. Every birthday is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to the gift of a person's life, and for everything that comes with this important and beautiful gift. Yesterday, was the ninety-ninth anniversary of the birth of the patron saint of our sanctuary, Saint John Paul II. We are indebted to him for his spiritual support, protection, and intercessory prayers with our Lord. We are also grateful for the incredible heritage that he left us. John Paul II served 9497 days as Pope--26 years, 5 months and 16 days. His pontificate is the longest in the 20th century and the third longest in the history of the Church. He is the author of 14 encyclicals, 15 apostolic exhortations, 13 apostolic constitutions, 45 apostolic letters, 29 motu proprio documents, and thousands of papal letters sent on the occasion of momentous events. During his pontificate, Pope John Paul II proclaimed 1338 blessed, canonized 482 saints, and was the first Pope in history to beatify a married couple, Maria and Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi. The Holy Father initiated a number of pastoral initiatives with a general and international reach. From 1985, during the celebrations of the International Youth Year, John Paul II established the so-called World Youth Day. Every year, on Palm Sunday at the diocesan level, under the guidance of their local bishop, the young meet together in prayer. Every two years, in different countries of the world, there are gatherings of young people from all over the world to participate in common prayer under the guidance of the Holy Father. On October 8-9, 1994, Rome hosted the first World Meeting of Families with the Successor of Peter. From 1993, on February 11 of each year, in another Marian sanctuary and on another continent, on the initiative of John Paul II, the World Day of the Sick is celebrated. The Holy Father understood perfectly well what the sick and suffering people were for him and for the Church. In 1997, in Zakopane, John Paul II said: "Suffering lived with Christ is the most precious gift and the most effective help in the apostolate." During foreign travel, John Paul II visited 130 countries and around 900 towns and delivered over 2,400 speeches. Some countries he visited several times were Poland, France, USA, Mexico, Spain, and Portugal. This is a great heritage from which we want to learn the Christian way, where God is in the center, watching over mankind. Hard work and a set plan of action, visions of the future, and cooperation with the Holy Spirit, were characteristic of this Successor of Saint Peter. MAY 19 TH, 2019 319. Night adoration on Thursdays. I made my hour of adoration from eleven o clock till midnight. I offered it for the conversion of hardened sinners, especially for those who have lost hope in God s mercy. I was reflecting on how much God has suffered and on how great was the love He had shown for us, and on the fact that we still do not believe that God loves us so much. O Jesus, who can understand this? What suffering it is for our Savior! How can He convince us of His love if even His death cannot convince us? I called upon the whole of heaven to join me in making amends to the Lord for the ingratitude of certain souls. 491. When I entered the chapel, once again the majesty of God overwhelmed me. I felt that I was immersed in God, totally immersed in Him and penetrated by Him, being aware of how much the heavenly Father loves us. Oh, what great happiness fills my heart from knowing God and the divine life! It is my desire to share this happiness with all people. I cannot keep this happiness locked in my own heart alone, for His flames burn Me and cause my bosom and my entrails to burst asunder. I desire to go throughout the whole world and speak to souls about the great mercy of God. Priests, help me in this; use the strongest words [at your disposal] to proclaim His mercy, for every word falls short of how merciful He really is. 729. During the meditation on creation at a certain point, my soul became closely united to its Lord and Creator. In this union, I recognized the purpose and destiny of my life. My purpose is to become closely united to God through love, and my destiny is to praise and glorify God s mercy. The Lord has allowed me to know and experience this in a distinct and even physical way. I become lost in admiration when I recognize and experience this incomprehensible love of God with which God loves me. Who is God and what am I I cannot meditate on this any further. Only love can understand this meeting of two spirits, namely, God-who-is-Spirit and the soul-who-iscreature. The more I know Him, the more completely, with all the strength of my being, I drown in Him. 778. And God has given me to understand that there is but one thing that is of infinite value in His eyes, and that is love of God; love, love and once again, love; and nothing can compare with a single act of pure love of God. Oh, with what inconceivable favors God gifts a soul that loves Him sincerely! Oh, how happy is the soul who already here on earth enjoys His special favors! Odprawiłam adorację od godziny jedenastej do godziny dwunastej. Tę adorację odprawiłam za nawrócenie zatwardziałych grzeszników, a szczególnie za tych, którzy stracili nadzieję w miłosierdzie Boże. Rozważałam, jak wiele Bóg wycierpiał i jak wielką nam okazał miłość, a my nie wierzymy, że Bóg nas tak miłuje. O Jezu, kto to zrozumie? Co za boleść dla naszego Zbawcy i czym nas przekona o swej miłości, jeżeli śmierć sama nas przekonać nie może? Zaprosiłam niebo całe, aby razem ze mną wynagradzało Panu za tę niewdzięczność niektórych dusz. 491 Kiedy weszłam do kaplicy, znowuż ogarnął mnie majestat Boży, czułam się cała pogrążona w Bogu, cała w Nim zanurzona i przeniknięta, widząc, jak bardzo Ojciec niebieski miłuje nas. O, jak wielkie szczęście napełnia duszę moją z poznania Boga, życia Bożego. Pragnę się tym szczęściem podzielić ze wszystkimi ludźmi, nie mogę zamknąć tego szczęścia we własnym tylko sercu, bo płomienie jego palą mnie i rozsadzają mi piersi i wnętrzności moje. Pragnę przechodzić świat cały i mówić duszom o wielkim miłosierdziu Boga. Kapłani, dopomóżcie mi w tym, używajcie najsilniejszych wyrazów o Jego miłosierdziu, bo wszystko jest bardzo słabym wyrazem [wobec tego], jakim jest miłosiernym. 729 W tej medytacji o stworzeniu... w jednym momencie dusza moja złączyła się ze Stwórcą i Panem swoim; w tej łączności poznałam cel i przeznaczenie swoje. Celem moim jest jednoczyć się ściśle z Bogiem przez miłość, a przeznaczeniem moim jest uwielbić i wysławić miłosierdzie Boże. Dał mi Pan jasno to poznać i przeżyć w sposób nawet fizycznie odczuwalny; nie mogę wyjść z podziwu, kiedy poznaję i doświadczam tej niepojętej miłości Boga, którą mnie Bóg miłuje. Kim jest Bóg - a kim ja? Dalej rozmyślać nie mogę. Miłość tylko rozumie to spotkanie i złączenie się tych dwóch duchów, to jest Bóg - Duch i dusza stworzenia. Im Go więcej poznaję, tym całą mocą jestestwa swego tonę w Nim. 778 I dał mi Bóg poznać jedną jedyną rzecz, która ma w oczach Jego nieskończoną wartość, a tą jest miłość Boża, miłość, miłość i jeszcze raz miłość - i z jednym aktem czystej (188) miłości Bożej, nie może iść nic w porównanie. O, jakimi niepojętymi względami Bóg darzy duszę, która Go szczerze miłuje. O, szczęśliwa dusza, która się cieszy już tu na ziemi Jego szczególnymi względami, a nimi są dusze małe i pokorne.
THE NEW ALTAR and IMPROVEMENTS IN OUR SHRINE Plans are underway for the new altar at our shrine. The Shrine has been blessed by the financial support from many donors. An amount of $60,000 has been raised to cover the cost of the altar. We also received a donation to cover the cost of the two images on either side of the altar. Currently the altar is being constructed in Poland and it will be sent here by ship. There s also an HVAC system in our plans to make the upper church more comfortable and also to fight with moisture in the upper church. We are also thinking about an elevator/lift to make our upper church available for everyone where the main altar with all the relics will be installed. We want it to be available for everyone so the next step is to make handicap bathrooms accessible. In the meantime, there is work to be done in preparation for the new altar. The masonry outside the church has been repaired as well as several small roof leaks. New gutters have been installed on the rectory. The inside walls behind the altar have been sealed and painted. The presbytery will have to be painted before the altar is installed. These repairs and renovations are costly and we need to raise funds for this purpose. You may also notice new insulated windows in the assembly room and the upper sacristy. These are a great improvement which will save on heating and cooling costs. There is also new fencing in front of the church. We are also in the process of looking to reopen our school building. This is a daunting task as the building needs major renovations. There are many men in the shrine community who have offered their time and skills to complete these projects. We would only have to pay for materials. In order to have heat and water in the school the pipes need to be repaired. The Archdiocese will cover this cost through insurance; however, we must have the asbestos covering the pipes removed. Asbestos removal is also necessary on the boiler and in the cafeteria. The second collections are presently held for this reason. I am grateful to those who, through spiritual and physical help, engage in the development of our church and school buildings. We wish to have the shrine attract many people who will find spiritual fulfillment and become disciples sharing the word of Christ to others.
