The installation of NDR-EA4104 DVR should be made by a qualified service person or a professional safety system installer. 2. Recorders mustn t be placed in places where ventilating holes are partially or fully covered. 3. User s interference inside the device is not allowed and is unnecessary as it does not have any systems which require adjusting or which are suitable for self-repair. You mustn t dismantle the recorder or remove any single fastening screws. If any repairs are necessary contact the service. The device must be take care of and protected against any mechanical damage. 4. The recorder has to be protected against humidity and dust. In case the recorder had a contact with water react immediately: switch off the power supply and contact the authorised Novus service. If the device gets dirty it might get damaged or electrocute someone. 5. The device can only be cleaned with a damp cloth after the power supply has been switched off. Avoid strong detergents (liquids and sprays). Mild detergents can be used if the recorder becomes very dirty. 6. Power supply unit cords and signal cords should be laid in a way that eliminates the risk of mechanical damage; special attention should be paid to the plug. Be careful not to overload sockets and extension cords so that there is no fire. 7. To avoid recorder s damage vision and control signals should be equipped with systems protecting against disturbances, over voltage and atmospheric discharge that are in compliance with Polish regulations. It is also advised to use ground loop isolators. 8. The device mustn t be used in conditions which do not fulfil operating requirements as far as power supply, relative humidity or air temperature are concerned. 9. You cannot allow any metal objects get inside the recorder. It might cause serious damage. If a metal object gets inside the device contact the authorised Novus service immediately. 10. After unpacking, please ensure that package contains the following items: NDR-EA3104M recorder Terminal block and connection cables GPS antenna Swappable hard drive bay key and mounting screws CD with a full version of user s manual and software tools and software User s manual IR remote controller If any of the elements has been damaged during transport, pack all the elements back into the original packaging and contact your supplier. CAUTION! If the device was brought from a location with lower temperature, please wait until it reaches the temperature of location it is currently in. Turning the device on immediately after bringing it from a location with lower ambient temperature is forbidden, as the condensing water vapour may cause short-circuits and damage the device as a result. Please get familiarized with description and functions of rear panel inputs. The manufacturer reserves the right to modify device s parameters without notice. Thanks to that, mounting and operating the device in cars, buses, vans etc. is safe and possible. CAUTION! Please provide a flat and stable surface for DVR installation. USB: USB 2.0 port for connecting external HDDs or Flash memory. Maximum cable length connecting port to a device shouldn't exceed 30 cm. 2. IR DETECTOR IR remote control receiver. 3. HDD Key lock for swappable hard drive bay and SD card socket KEY LOCK Unlocking the lid allows un-mounting hard drive bay and SD card from DVR. Hard drive bay may be then connected directly to PC via Mini-B USB cable (not included). Note: For safety reasons, please turn off the DVR prior to removing hard drive bay or SD card. Removing hard drive bay or SD card during normal DVR operation is also possible. Please open HDD key lock and wait for about 10 second until green LED starts blinking, indicating that storage device can be removed safely. Removing the storage device before events described above take place is prohibited, as it may cause damage to the device not qualifying for service repair! 4. LED: Flickering green HDD LED indicates that the recording or search/ - GREEN playback functions are active. Regularly blinking green LED indicates that HDD key lock is opened and storage devices may be removed safely. - RED Solid red ALARM LED means that alarm event occurred (e.g. loss of video signal) and at least one of the alarm outputs or buzzer is active. ALARM LED blinking regularly indicates working internal heater, raising t h e temperature to sufficient level for the device to start up. - BLUE Solid blue DVR LED means that power supply is connected. LED: With swappable bay lid opened, additional LEDs become visible: - GREEN Blinking green LED indicates that the recording or searching / playback is in progress. - BLUE Solid blue DVR LED means that swappable hard drive bay is properly connected. Note: Removing storage devices is possible only when both LEDs are dark. 7. SD CARD: SD/SSD card slot visible when swappable bay lid is opened. During low temperature start up procedure internal hard drive cannot be used. Until temperature reaches acceptable level, recordings are stored on SD/SSD card. Data stored there are later moved to internal hard drive. CAUTION! If SD/SSD card is not present, recording process starts only when sufficient HDD operating temperatures has been reached. Depending on temperature level, heating process can take from a few to more than a dozen minutes. 8. Mini USB: Mini USB socket visible on the swappable bay, after opening the lid. Allows to connect the bay directly to a PC computer in order to play/copy the recordings stored on the DVR s HDD. 2.6. Controlling via IR remote controller The set includes an IR remote controller. Its range depends on battery status and may vary between a few and few tens of meters. Single remote may control up to 99 DVRs. If an ID number of the device equals 0, the IR remote control of that device is possible instantly, without any additional setup (furthermore, simultaneous controlling of few DVRs with the same remote is possible). To successfully control a DVR with its ID equal 1~99, please press ID button first. An ID selection menu appears on the DVR screen. Please enter appropriate ID number in the Controller ID field, corresponding to the ID set in the DVR. Confirm by pressing OK. NDR-EA3104M User s manual - 1.0 version (short form) STARTING THE DEVICE 1. Pressing E.REC button enables/disables panic recording mode. Enabling panic recording starts recording video signals from all video inputs and displays appropriate icon on the main monitor. Panic recording settings are defined in DVR menu. 2. 1~9, 0 buttons Camera selection buttons. Button pressing displays selected camera in full screen mode. Buttons are also used to enter the password. 3. Press MENU button to enter recorder s settings menu (after successful login). Menu functions are described in full version of the user s manual. The Button is also used to exit the menu or going to a higher level of the particular submenu. In playback and PTZ control modes, MENU/EXIT button is used for enabling / disabling additional menu functions. 4. Toggles between different display formats. Full screen mode and 2x2 screen division are available. 5. In live watch mode button allows to start sequence display mode on main monitor. 6. Navigation buttons serve a variety of purposes: - navigating through the recorder menus and changing the values of items, - choosing another channel or channels in live or playback mode - controlling the PTZ cameras, - navigating through the zoomed part of the screen in ZOOM mode Pressing the inside ENTER button in the setup mode confirms the changes made, while in the "live" mode displays additional functions or Login window. 7. In the live watch mode allows to enter the backup menu. 8. In the live watch mode allows to enter the playback menu. 9. In the playback mode allows to pause the playback screen. Subsequent pressing switches the playback speed between PLAY, FFx2, FFx4, FFx8, FFx16, FFx32. In the PTZ control mode press the button to call IRIS OPEN function. 12. Press the button to play video backward at regular speed. Pressing the button again switches the playback speed between R.PLAY, RWx2, RWx4, RWx8, RWx16, RWx32. In the PTZ control mode press the button to call ZOOM OUT function. 13. In the playback mode press the button to display a next frame. In the PTZ control mode press the button to call IRIS CLOSE function. 14. In the playback mode press the button to display a next frame. In the PTZ control mode press the button to call IRIS CLOSE function. 15. Pressing the PTZ button allows to select a PTZ camera (only the PTZ cameras set=up earlier are available) and control it. 16. Pressing the button either in live or playback modes enlarges selected part of the picture. Function becomes available after switching a channel into full-screen mode. In order to select an area to be zoomed, please use navigation buttons. 17. Pressing the PIP button displays/hides a menu allowing enabling/disabling PIP function. 18. Pressing the button either in live or playback modes allows to select audio input (from active), which is then associated with audio output, or muting audio output. 19. Consecutive pressing of this button switches between various OSD display modes. None/only date & time/status bar and date and time are available. Additionally, enabling the hide bar function after a certain time of inactivity is also possible. 20. Pressing the button displays the ID selection menu. NDR-EA3104M User s manual - 1.0 version (short form) STARTING THE DEVICE 2.7. Powering the device Connecting power supply to the DVR starts its operation. System initialization takes up to 30s. Please do not run any of the devices functions nor press any buttons. Turning the device off is available via the menu or disconnecting the ACC-IN cable. 2.8. Mounting the HDDs NDR-EA3104M DVRs support 1 SATA 2.5 HDD. DVR includes factory-mounted 250GB hard drive. NOTE: In order to find information regarding the compatible models of memory cards, HDDs and their maximum capacity, please contact Novus distributor or check the information presented at www.novuscctv.com. AAT HOLDING Company is not responsible for any problems resulting from using not recommended storage devices. NOTE: The list of compatible HDDs contains all the HDDs that can be used with a given DVR including HDDs designed for office use - so called desktop disks. However, due to the fact that reliability of the recording process and data safety are paramount factors of any CCTV system, we strongly advise to use HDDs designed for continuous (24/7) operation. NOTE: Formatting disks that were used in a different device is required. All data saved on HDD prior to format will be lost. 3. MENU REJESTRATORA recorder features a multilingual OSD menu allowing for adjusting the settings of the device. English, Polish, Korean, Spanish, Slovak, Czech, Turkish, Dutch, Russian, German, Portuguese, Italian, French and Greek are available. Prior to using DVR for the first time, initial setup is strongly advised. This includes setting such parameters as time and date, language version, camera, audio, remote control, record mode, network and password. Configuration described below is compliant with one performed via IR remote controller. NDR-EA3104M User s manual - 1.0 version (short form) MENU REJESTRATORA The Login screen, depicted below appears: Select ID and enter the password by pressing the appropriate combination of channel number buttons or using navigation buttons, then confirm with OK. There is no default password when logging in for the first time as the admin user! Please leave the password field empty and select OK button. Arrows are used for moving around the menu: - right, - left, - up, - down To confirm selections, enter sub-menus and edit fields use the ENTER button Values may be also changed by using the arrow buttons. To leave setup mode or to leave sub-menus and value editing use the MENU/EXIT button. To set the same value for all fields available in one column highlight the desired column s name with the cursor and enter the required value. A virtual keyboard is available whenever the need for entering names and titles arises. Use the arrow keys to highlight the desired character and press ENTER button. The selected character appears in the title bar and the cursor moves to the next position. Live monitoring As soon as the DVR completes its initialization process, it starts displaying live video via the connected monitor. Displaying all cameras simultaneously is the default mode. Press a camera button to display a particular camera full screen. Subsequent DISPLAY button pressing cycles through different display modes. Display position of the individual cameras can be freely configured via the menu. While working in split-screen mode single camera can be displayed only once on a given screen. STRG format recordings (i.e. without compiled player) are recognized by the system during playback. Playback feature is enabled only if there an external memory is connected to the DVR. In order to start playback call additional function menu in "live" mode by pressing ENTER button. Then, select Playback position and Backup Data. A screen should appear, allowing you to select desired storage device and recording from available. Use the navigation keys to select the desired file, and then choose ENTER button to confirm. The methods of Backup video control are the same as in Recorded video playback. 4.4. Searching video Press the MENU/EXIT in the playback mode to start searching display menu.
