Two techniques of yramidalis muscle dissection in Pfannenstiel incision for cesarean section Dwie techniki rearowania mięśni iramidowych odczas cięcia cesarskiego sosobem Pfannenstiela,2, 2 Clinical Deartment of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Rzeszow State Hosital, Rzeszow, Poland 2 Institute of Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine, University of Rzeszow, Rzeszow, Poland Abstract Objectives: The aim of the study was to comare two techniques of yramidalis muscle dissection during cesarean section. Material and methods: A total of 08 atients undergoing a cesarean section were randomly allocated to grou I (N=57), with the yramidalis muscle left attached to the rectus muscles, and grou II (N=5), with reservation of the connection between the yramidalis muscle and the rectus sheath. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the grous regarding surgery duration, blood loss and ostoerative ain. After three months, atients from grou II more frequently reorted aresthesia in the scar region (47. vs. 28.%; =0.04), but their self-assessment of the abdominal aearance and resence of the bulging below the wound were comarable with grou I. Conclusions: None of the two techniques of yramidalis muscle dissection aear to be suerior to the other. The technique leaving the yramidalis muscle attached to the fascia gave more frequent aresthesia during a 3-month follow-u. Słowa kluczowe: / / / Introduction Material and methods Figure a.
