Our Parish School: We are part of an excellent co-sponsored elementary school: All Saints Academy. For information call: 201-443-8384 Religious Education For Children: CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building. Sacrament Of The Sick: Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who are ill in the hospital or at home. Marriages: Please make arrangements at least one year in advance. Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass. Baptisms: A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last Sunday in English. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish.) Novenas: Every Tuesday Evening to Saint Anne following the 7:00 pm Mass. There can be no excuses. We cannot say that we do not have the time, the talents or a share in our treasure. God uses each of us to help those in need. Please share your gift of treasure by donating to the Archbishop s Annual Appeal which begins next weekend. Thank You! Religious Education News Next weekend is Family Mass. After the 9:30 A.M. Mass, our children and parents will meet in the Parish Center. The topic will be: Liturgical seasons, colors, and objects. CCD Registration will be on Sunday, March 13 in the School from 9:00-11:00 AM. First Penance Practice: March 24 at 6:00 PM First Penance: March 26 at 10:00 AM The Presentation of the Lord On Feb. 2 the Church celebrates the Feast Day of the Presentation of the Lord. or Candlemas Day. It is the 40th day after the feast of Christmas and officially marks the end of the Christmas season. It is the custom of this day to bless the candles and oil stocks that will be used in liturgical celebrations for the coming year. The candles we use for Mass, Benediction, and in the sconces of the church will be blessed. You may donate these candles this weekend or during the week. There are baskets of candles by the Nativity set in the church. Please place your donated candle in the white basket. Donation: $ 5.00 Reminder: Those who are on the monthly payment plan for their campaign pledge may do so on any week of the month that is convenient for them. The priests distribute Gift Cards from McDonald s, Dunkin Donuts, or Subway to the homeless in Bayonne. The gift cards are necessary since homeless people have no facilities to prepare food. Also, during these cold days, it allows them to stay in a warm environment for several hours. If you would like to assist in this Ministry to the Homeless, please drop off to the rectory Gift Cards to these or other local fast food restaurants. Ofiarowanie Jezusa w świątyni objawia jednoznacznie najważniejszą prawdę o Jego relacji do Boga i wynikających z tego konsekwencjach dla wszystkich ludzi. Jezus nie zostaje przyniesiony do domu Bożego, aby zostać wykupiony, jak nakazywały przepisy Prawa Mojżeszowego odnoszące się do wszystkich pierworodnych nie będących lewitami, ale zostaje przedstawiony Panu, czyli poświęcony Mu na służbę. Fakt, że chodzi tu o coś innego niż wykupienie potwierdzony jest powołaniem się przez Ewangelistę na Boże polecenie dane Izraelitom w noc wyjścia z Egiptu: "Każde pierworodne dziecko płci męskiej będzie poświęcone Panu" (Łk 2,23; por. Wj 13,2.12.15). Również Samuel jest oddany przez swoją matkę Annę na służbę w domu Bożym: "Oto ja oddaję go Panu. Po wszystkie dni, jak długo będzie żył, zostaje oddany na własność Panu" (1 Sm 1,28). Jezus jednak różni się od Samuela, ponieważ jest przyniesiony jako Ten, do którego należy służba Panu, i jako Ten, który bierze w posiadanie dom swego Ojca. Takie właśnie rozumienie opisu o przedstawieniu Jezusa w świątyni potwierdzają Jego pierwsze słowa w Ewangelii św. Łukasza, które są dane jako odpowiedź szukającym dwunastoletniego pielgrzyma: "Czemuście Mnie szukali? Czy nie wiedzieliście, że powinienem być w tym, co należy do mego Ojca?" (Łk 2,49). Jezus jako Syn Boży, Święty i Pierworodny, pochodzi w sposób całkowity od Boga oraz całkowicie do Boga należy. W ten sam sposób wszelkie sprawy Boże do Jezusa należą. Z tej wzajemnej i doskonałej relacji między Jezusem a Bogiem wypływają wielkie dobrodziejstwa dla nas wszystkich. Ofiarowanie Jezusa w świątyni jednak ukazuje, że nasze zbawienie nie realizuje się przez zarezerwowanie czegoś dla siebie czy jakiekolwiek inne wykupienie się od Boga. Nasze zbawienie dokonuje się natomiast w całkowitej zależności od Boga i w zupełnym oddaniu Mu własnej egzystencji. OFIAROWANIE PAŃSKIE Święto Ofiarowania Pańskiego, Matki Boskiej Gromnicznej jest świętem chrześcijańskim, upamiętniającym ofiarowanie Jezusa Chrystusa w świątyni jerozolimskiej, zgodnie z prawem Mojżeszowym w 40. dniu od narodzenia Jezusa. Tym samym kończymy okres Bożego Narodzenia w naszych Kosciołach. Zgodnie ze zwyczajem w tym dniu zostaną poświęcone świece które będziemy używać przez nastepny rok przy głównym ołtarzu. Donacja za świece $5. Koszyki na ten cel będą umieszczone przy szopce w tym i następnym tygodniu. BŁOGOSŁAWIEŃSTWO 3 lutego będziemy udzielać specjalnego błogosławieństwa mającego uprosić za pośrednictwem św. Błażeja uleczenie i zapobieżenie chorobom gardła. "Przez wstawiennictwo świętego Błażeja, niech Bóg zachowa Cię od choroby gardła i wszelkiego innego zła. W imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego". ROCZNY APEL ARCYBISKUPA Przeto przypatrzcie się, bracia, powołaniu waszemu! 1 Kor 1,26 Św. Paweł przypomina nam, że zostaliśmy powołani do społeczności Kościoła i jesteśmy za Niego odpowiedzialni. Nie możemy powiedzić, że nie mamy czasu, talentów czy udziału w Jego skarbach. Bóg każdego dnia wzywa nas do troski o najbardziej potrzebujących członków Jego Kościoła. W nadchodzący weekend lutego będziemy mieli składkę na Apel Arcybiskupa. Za dar Waszych serc już teraz dziękujemy.
