Our Parish School: We are part of an excellent co-sponsored elementary school: All Saints Academy. For information call: Religious Education For Children: CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building. Confessions: Daily Monday to Saturday following the 7:00 am Mass. Saturday afternoons at 3:30 pm. Sacrament Of The Sick: Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who are ill in the hospital or at home. Marriages: Please make arrangements at least one year in advance. Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass. Baptisms: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish). A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last Sunday in English. Novenas: Every Tuesday Evening to Saint Anne following the 7:00 pm Mass. Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm Mass. Let s approach Christmas with an expectant hush, rather than a last-minute rush. Advent Giving Tree The Mt. Carmel Guild is sponsoring the Advent Giving Tree. Please take an ornament from the tree (or from one of the baskets by the entrance doors) and bring back a gift for an elderly or needy person. Drop off gifts at Parish Center as you arrive for church each week. Due date: Dec. 15 Monday Advent Evening Prayer. These prayer services are sponsored jointly by all seven Catholic parishes in Bayonne. 4 Feast of the Immaculate Conception December 8, normally the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, falls on the Second Sunday of Advent. In accordance with the Norms on Liturgy, the observance is moved to Monday, December 9. Therefore, Dec. 9 is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation. But wouldn t it be wonderful to honor Blessed Mother by attending Mass that day! TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Long ago in northern Europe, the growing dark and winter weather in Advent forced people to remove the wheels from their carts and replace them with snow runners. The wheels were hung high in the rafters of the house, fitted out with lanterns, and wound tightly with evergreen boughs. The first wreaths were windows into heaven, a source of light, a comforting sign of the victory of the light of Christ over our world s dark wildernesses, its mountainous obstacles, its valleys of need. The Advent wreath started in the home, and only later appeared in church. Its four candles represent the four Sundays of our journey: typically three purple, one rose. Why not set a wreath in your own home as a place for Advent prayer? Don t let a shortage of purple candles discourage you: some use a deep blue, others have white candles and weave blue and purple flowers, seashells, and pine cones into the green. When the sun sets tonight, light a single candle, sing a verse of a well-loved Advent hymn, and name a mountain to be leveled, a valley to be filled. During the Winter months, we need fast food restaurant s cards (McDonald s, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Kentucky Fried Chicken) to assist the needy in our town. Each Monday we distribute cards. Please drop off $10 cards in the receptacle by Blessed Mother s altar. (We also welcome cash!) ZMIANA GODZINY SOBOTNIEJ SPOWIEDZI Od soboty przed I Niedzielą Adwentu (30 listopada) zmieniamy godzinę spowiedzi z 3:30 PM na 4 PM. Zmiana ma pomóc tym wszystkim, którzy uczestniczą we Mszy Świętej o godzinie 5:00 PM. MODLITEWNIKI PAN Z WAMI 1 grudnia rozpoczynamy Adwent, a tym samym nowy rok liturgiczny. Tego dnia zmieniamy całoroczne mszaliki Pan z Wami. Od kilku lat obserwujemy niepokojące zjawisko znikania tych mszalików. Bardzo prosimy, aby nie zabierać ich do domów. Są one przeznaczone do modlitwy i śpiewu w kościele. Jest moż liwość zamówienia dodatkowych mszalików w cenie $11 za sztukę - każdy będzie mógł sobie taki mszalik kupić i korzystać również w domu. Do 30 listopada można wpisywac się na listę w zakrystii. INTENCJE MSZALNE Uprzejmie informujemy, iż posiadamy wolne intencje mszalne na polskich Mszach Świętych w dni powszednie w 2014 r. Jednocześnie prosimy, aby w przypadku wpisywania intencji przez panią sekretarkę podawać pełne imię (imiona) oraz nazwisko (nazwiska) osoby (osób), za którą Msza Święta ma być odprawiona. Przykład: +Jan i Halina Kowalski a nie + J&H Kowalski. OPŁATEK Opłatki można nabywać w zakrystii lub w kancelarii parafialnej.

5 15-18 grudnia 2013 r. Tegorocznym rekolekcjonistą będzie ks. Aleksander Jasiński SDS, który posługuje jako ekonom w Wyższym Seminarium Duchownym Salwatorianów w Bagnie. PLAN REKOLEKCJI: Adwent (z łac. adventus p r z y j ś c i e, przybycie) to okres w r o k u liturgicznym, który rozpoczyna się od I Nieszporów niedzieli po sobocie XXXIV tygodnia Okresu Zwykłego, a kończy przed I Nieszporami uroczystości Narodzenia Pańskiego w wieczór 24 grudnia. Trwa od 23 do 28 dni i obejmuje cztery kolejne niedziele przed 25 grudnia. Stanowi pierwszy okres w każdym nowym roku liturgicznym. Adwent składa się z dwóch odrębnych okresów czasu, w którym kierujemy nasze serca ku oczekiwaniu powtórnego przyjścia Jezusa w chwale na końcu czasów (okres od początku Adwentu do 16 grudnia włącznie); czasu bezpośredniego przygotowania do uroczystości Narodzenia Pańskiego, w której wspominamy pierwsze przyjście Chrystusa na ziemię. Niedziela, 15 grudnia 7:00 AM - Msza Święta z kazaniem rekolekcyjnym 10:45 AM - Msza Święta z kazaniem rekolekcyjnym Poniedziałek, 16 grudnia 7:00 PM - Msza Święta z kazaniem rekolekcyjnym Wtorek, 17 grudnia 8:00 PM - Msza Święta z kazaniem rekolekcyjnym Środa, 18 grudnia Msza święta z Sakramentem Namaszczenia Chorych będzie miała miejsce w naszym kościele we wtorek 10 grudnia 2013 r. o godzinie 12:00 w południe. Prosimy o rozpowszechnienie tej informacji wśród osób starszych oraz chorych, które na co dzień z powodów zdrowotnych nie są w stanie dotrzeć do kościoła. Jeśli to możliwe prosimy o pomoc wzajemną takim osobom w dotarciu do kościoła w ten dzień. Zwornikiem wszystkich tekstów liturgii adwentowej obydwu części jest czytanie ciągłe księgi proroka Izajasza. Czytanie to obrazuje tęsknotę za wyczekiwanym Mesjaszem. W czasie całego Adwentu, poza niedzielami i uroczystością Niepokalanego Poczęcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny (8 grudnia), odprawiane są Roraty. Ta bardzo dawna tradycja jest nadal w Polsce kultywowana. Roraty to Msze ku czci Najświętszej Maryi Panny, odprawiane wczesnym rankiem (dozwolone jest odprawianie tej Mszy Świętej wieczorem). Ich nazwa pochodzi od łacińskich słów pieśni często śpiewanej na ich początku - Rorate caeli desuper (Spuśćcie rosę, niebiosa). W czasie Rorat przy ołtarzu znajduje się dodatkowa, ozdobna świeca - symbolizuje ona obecność Maryi. Eucharystia rozpoczyna się przy zgaszonych światłach; zapalają się one dopiero podczas uroczystego hymnu "Chwała na wysokości Bogu". Jest to jeden z nielicznych przypadków w roku liturgicznym, kiedy hymn ten śpiewa się każdego dnia (chociaż wyłącznie podczas Rorat).
