COME VISIT THE RELICS OF ST. MARIA GORETTI AT ST. JOHN VIANNEY CHURCH We will have a bus leaving from the St. Francis Borgia parking lot at 10am on the 13th. We will travel to St. John Vianney, and return about noon. If you wish to ride the bus, you must call the rectory to reserve a seat: 773-625-1118. Respect Life Life and Choice Choice is a positive concept, and an attractive concept. That s why abortion apologists use it. But the way they use it is a lie and, increasingly, Americans are catching on. There is hope in this development.. Increasingly, Americans are recognizing what a moral evil is embodied in Roe. Increasingly, they are aware of the vast network of lies that have been spun and fortified to sustain the illusion that abortion is somehow a good, or at least a morally neutral procedure; that it is a standard part of health care and family planning; that it is a proper exercise of a woman s freedom; that it is a solution to intractable social problems. It is, of course, none of these things. What it is, is an unfettered right to take an innocent, human life from the mother s womb. All this, more and more Americans are coming to know. --- Cardinal William H. Keeler On the occasion of the Feast of St. Francis Borgia, together with Fr. Joe, Fr. Marek, and Our Parish Staff I want to thank you for your service in our many ministries. We cordially invite you to The Appreciation Dinner on Saturday, October 10 in the Stokes Center at 6:00 p.m. we want to thank you personally for everything you do for St. Francis Borgia Parish, and bless you so you can successfully continue your ministry. From the Pastor s Desk... The tents are down, and the rides are gone. The 2015 St. Francis Borgia 5 th Annual Fall Fest is in the books. It was a great weekend, and all had much fun. Our Carnival has become an important part of the school fundraising here at St. Francis Borgia. I want to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and all who attended and made our Carnival a great success. We will have a full financial report published in the next Bulletin. As you can see, we started the renovation of the floor on the east side of the Church. We would like to ask you to move to the west side that is done for the next few weekends even though the east side will be open with the chairs. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Last weekend we celebrated Vocation Sunday in the entire Archdiocese of Chicago, and we had a wonderful speaker from St. Joseph College Seminary. Thank you for your warm welcome to Seminarians Matthew and Kamil, for praying for vocations and your offerings for the Seminary system in our Archdiocese. I wanted to share with you good news that our parishioner Irek Mocarski together with his wife Cindy started a 4 - year journey to become a permanent Deacon. Please include them in your prayers. Fr. Richard Milek My name is Irek Mocarski. I was born in Wysokim-Mazowieckim in Poland. For the greater part of my childhood, I was raised in the city of Łomża. About 17 years ago, I moved to Chicago and met my wife Cindy. Throughout the years, our marriage has strengthened with faith and grown into an immeasurable love. I have been a parishioner of Saint Francis Borgia for over 5 years and volunteer in numerous ministries. Around 3 years ago, a fellow parishioner, Joe Jagiello, introduced me to the idea of becoming a Deacon. I will always be eternally grateful to him and a number of parish friends in my life for being such great role models and teachers in the faith. This past June, after careful thought and many prayers, Cindy and I came to a life changing decision. With the blessing of Pastor Milek, we applied and were accepted into the Institute for Diaconal Studies at University of Saint Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary. I express great gratitude to both Fr. Richard Milek and Fr. Marek Smolka for taking me under their wings and inviting me into this loving family of Saint Francis Borgia. It is my pleasure to be able to serve such a wonderful parish and community. This will be an exciting 4 year journey for both Cindy and me, in which we will be continuously asking all of you to include us in your prayers. It is with great trust; we hand over our future in the Diaconate to Our Lady of Częstochowa. PILGRIMAGE TO PHILADELPHIA Thank you to all parishioners for your prayers during our Pilgrimage for the World Meeting of Families with Pope Francis in Philadelphia. We visited Niagara Falls, Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, National Shrine of Immaculate Conception and Shrine of John Paul II in Washington DC. Our main highlight of the pilgrimage was to see Pope Francis in Philadelphia. Our pilgrimage was very fruitful and we had a wonderful experience and each of us received many graces. Even the pilgrims who had difficulty getting into the park on Sunday, where the mass was celebrated, still made it for the end of mass and received communion. For many of them that was a powerful experience. I also had the privilege to concelebrate mass with Pope Francis. This was a great moment for me, because I realize that I concelebrating mass with my boss as well with St. Peter s deputy. We pray for you and your family. Thank you for all your prayers for us. Fr. Marek

Józefa i kleryka Kamila z Polskiego Seminarium im. W świetle prawa kanonicznego Kościoła łacińskiego, święcenia diakonatu wprowadzają do stanu duchownego. Wiąże się to z obowiązkiem regularnej celebracji Liturgii Godzin. Nabożeństwa Różańcowe Październik tradycyjnie jest miesiącem w szczególny sposób poświęconym modlitwie różańcowej. Nabożeństwa Różańcowe w języku polskim w naszej parafii będą w poniedziałek, środę, i piątek o godzinie 7:00 wieczorem. W każdy poniedziałek różaniec będzie prowadzony przez grupę różańcową.
