TEACHING RESULTS AND THE METHODS OF ASSESSING TEACHING RESULTS Module target The aim of the seminar is to familiarise students with basic principles and requirements regarding writing a diploma thesis in the form of an engineering project and also a supervision of project completion according to An engineering project task assigned to students during the sixth semester. Effect symbol Teaching results Teaching methods (l/c/l/p/) Reference to subject effects Reference to effects of a field of study A student has basic knowledge concerning formal requirements referring to various types of degree theses (engineering/diploma project, engineer/bsc diploma thesis, master thesis, and PhD dissertation) as well as internal regulations concerning the development engineering projects at the Faculty of Management and Computer Modelling. A student knows: basic principles of the written works structure including written work on engineering issues; methodological aspects of preparing projects; the principles of searching, gathering, and analysing materials used in the process of project preparation and developing the results of analyses. A student knows basic requirements and principles requiring the following: correct editing of the written work both stylistically and linguistically, developing tabular summaries and graphical presentations, providing documentation for the sources, preparing bibliography and appendices. A student can prepare an engineering project under the supervision of an academic teacher, according to the requirements formulated in Engineering project task and according to general methodological and formal requirements concerning the preparation of degree theses. A student can study literature on the subject (which is indispensable for an engineering project), identify and solve basic decision-making problems as regards correct project development. K_U04 K_U01 T1A_U03 S1A_U10 T1A_U01 A student can individually prepare a short multimedia presentation of an engineering project ( written work as well) with reference to the requirements concerning an indispensable information synthesis. A student can also present it in public. A student understands the meaning of abilities as regards correct preparation and editing of written work, including degree theses as well as the necessity of improving the technique and knowledge concerning the methodology of such works.
