St. Elizabeth was born in Hungary in 1207, the daughter of Alexander II, King of Hungary. At the age of four she was sent for education to the court of the Landgrave of Thuringia, to whose infant son she was betrothed. As she grew in age, her piety also increased by leaps and bounds. In 1221, she married Louis of Thuringia and in spite of her position at court began to lead an austerely simple life, practiced penance, and devoted herself to works of charity. Her husband was himself much inclined to religion and highly esteemed her virtue, encouraging her in her exemplary life. They had three children when tragedy struck - Louis was killed while fighting with the Crusaders. After his death, Elizabeth left the court, made arrangements for the care of her children, and in 1228, renounced the world, becoming a tertiary of St. Francis. She built the Franciscan hospital at Marburg and devoted herself to the care of the sick until her death at the age of 24 in 1231. St. Elizabeth is the patron saint of bakers, countesses, death of children, falsely accused, the homeless, nursing services, tertiaries, widows, and young brides. Her symbols are alms, flowers, bread, the poor, and a pitcher. A Prayer for the Faithful Departed O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of their sins, that, through pious supplications, they may obtain the pardon which they have always desired. Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy (Latin: Iubilaeum Extraordinarium Misericordiae) is a Roman Catholic period of prayer held from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8), 2015, to the Feast of Christ the King (November 20), 2016.Like previous jubilees, it is seen by the Church as a period for remission of sins and universal pardon focusing particularly on God's forgiveness and mercy. It is an extraordinary Jubilee because it had not been predetermined long before; usually ordinary jubilees take place every 25 years. The 2016 Jubilee was first announced by Pope Francis on March 13, 2015.It was declared in the pope's April 2015 papal bull of indiction, Misericordiae Vultus (Latin: "The Face of Mercy").It is the 27th holy year in history, following the ordinary 2000 Jubilee during John Paul II's papacy.the opening day was also the fiftieth anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council. Francis wishes the Jubilee to be celebrated not only in Rome but all around the world; for the first time holy doors are open in single dioceses, either in the cathedral or in historical churches.the first holy door was opened by Pope Francis in Bangui on November 29, 2015, during a tour of East Africa. The Jubilee of Mercy was formally declared through the papal bull Misericordiæ Vultus, issued on April 11, 2015, which emphasizes the importance of mercy and the need to 'gaze' on it; the bull also recalls the need for the Church to be more open, keeping alive the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. The holy doors of the major basilicas of Rome (including the Great Door of St. Peter's) were opened, and special 'Doors of Mercy' were opened at cathedrals and other major churches around the world. The opening of the holy door at St. Peter's was the first time two popes were present, as Pontiff Emeritus Benedict attended at Pope Francis' invitation. By passing through the holy doors, the faithful can earn indulgences after fulfilling the usual conditions of prayer for the pope's intentions, confession, and detachment from sin, and communion. During Lent of that year, special 24-hour penance services will be celebrated, and during the year, special qualified and experienced priests called 'Missionaries of Mercy' will be available in every diocese to forgive even severe, specialcase sins normally reserved to the Holy See's Apostolic Penitentiary. In the bull, Pope Francis states about the opening of the holy door, "the Holy Door will become a Door of Mercy through which anyone who enters will experience the love of God who consoles, pardons, and instills hope"

Dzięki swemu pochodzeniu Albert mógł studiować w Padwie i w Bolonii. W Padwie w 1221 r. spotkał bł. Jordana z Saksonii i z jego rąk otrzymał habit dominikański. Skierowany do konwentu dominikanów w Kolonii, tu zapewne złożył profesję zakonną, ukończył studia teologiczne i otrzymał święcenia kapłańskie. W latach 1234 1242 był lektorem w klasztorach: Hildesheim, Fryburgu, w Ratyzbonie i w Strasburgu. Potem udał się do Paryża, gdzie kończył i uzupełniał swoje studia wyższe. Tam też został profesorem jako pierwszy Niemiec (1245). Tradycja dominikańska przypisuje mu proroczą wypowiedź o Akwinacie: "Nazywamy go niemym wołem, ale on jeszcze przez swoją naukę tak zaryczy, że usłyszy go cały świat". W roku 1254 kapituła prowincjalna wybrała Alberta prowincjałem około 40 klasztorów niemieckich. Św. Albert był jednym z największych umysłów chrześcijańskiego średniowiecza. Przedmiotem jego naukowych zainteresowań były niemal wszystkie dziedziny ówczesnej wiedzy. Nie było dziedziny, której by nie znał, o której by nie pisał, począwszy od wzniosłych prawd teologii i filozofii, poprzez nauki przyrodnicze. Słusznie papież Pius XI nadał mu tytuł doktora uniwersalnego, a potomność od dawna nazywała go Wielkim. Albert. On pierwszy usiłował stworzyć syntezę wszystkich nauk. Niedziela 20 Listopada Godzina 3:00PM (Nabożenstwo będzie odprawione w trzech językach: polskim, angielskim i włoskim.) Piusa X, otrzymają ważne i zgodne z prawem rozgrzeszenie.
