20 TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Niech będziepochwalony Jezus Chrystus! Dostaliśmy donację 100 tysięcy dolarów i następne 100 tysięcy trzeba będzie nam jeszcze zebrać. Myślę, że z Bożą i ludzką pomoca ten cel osiągniemy. Powierzamy sprawy naszego sanktuarium w najpewniejsze ręce ręce Jezusowe. Jezu, Ufam Tobie! Ks. Robert Będziński On Friday, August 23, there won t be a mass at 7:00 PM in our shrine. W piątek, 23 sierpnia nie będzie Mszy Świętej o godz. 7:00 PM w naszym sanktuarium. AUGUST 18 TH, 2019 Praised be Lord Jesus Christ! Vacation time is coming to an end and we want to get back to the "work", ie evangelization, gathering our community as well as raising funds for the development of our sanctuary. Next week is the Polish festival. It does not seem to me to be a coincidence that it is the day of the birth of Sister Faustina, secretary of Divine Mercy. "Learn from Sister Faustina, (" ) from this humble and exemplary Servant of God how to be a child - a son and daughter - of the heavenly Father in all circumstances, how to remain a disciple of the Incarnate Word and a tool susceptible to the action of the Spirit of the Life and Comforter. May blessed Faustina put in a good word for each of us and let her teach us to always look at heaven's eternity, putting God - like her - at the center of our own lives. (Vilnius, September 5, 1993). We will want to reflect on these words and, after Masses, honor the relics of Sister Faustina, which we have in our sanctuary. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the preparation of this fest. This shows how important our shrine is to you, to also advertise the activities of our temple, thereby bringing people to the place of Divine Mercy. I hope that we will be able to gather together in a week to feel like family, encourage others and enjoy a good time, because there will be everything needed for spirit and body. And we are already preparing for the next event, which is a cruise on Salem harbor. The income from these activities will help our sanctuary and the installation of the elevator, which we plan, after collecting the right amount of money. We received a donation of $100,000 from a generous benefactor and we will have to collect another $100,000. I think that we will achieve this goal with God's help. We entrust the matters of our shrine to the surest hands - the hands of Jesus. Jesus, I trust you! Fr. Robert Będziński PRAYER REQUESTS BOOK At the back of the lower church we have a PRAYER REQUEST BOOK. Please, write down your prayer in the book and your requests will be remembered at the shrine during our devotions: at the Stations of the Cross, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and in all other devotional Litanies.
Wspomnienie Najświętszej Maryi Panny Królowej 22 sierpnia Wspomnienie Maryi Królowej zostało wprowadzone przez papieża Piusa XII encykliką Ad caeli Reginam (Do Królowej niebios)wydaną 11 października 1954 r., w setną rocznicę ogłoszenia dogmatu o Niepokalanym Poczęciu Maryi. Już w czasie Soboru Watykańskiego I w roku 1869 biskupi francuscy i hiszpańscy prosili o to święto. Pierwszy Kongres Krajowy Maryjny we Francji odbyty w Lyonie (1900) prośbę tę ponowił. To właśnie wydarzenie ukoronowania Maryi wspominamy w piątej tajemnicy chwalebnej różańca, a we wspomnienie dokonujemy aktu ponowienia poświęcenia się Niepokalanemu Sercu Maryi. Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 22 nd On the 11th of October 1954, Pope Pius XII established the Feast of the Queenship of Mary to be celebrated throughout the world, and commanded that on that day each year, the world should renew its consecration to her. In the future the Feast came to be celebrated on August 22. "The purpose of the Feast is that all may recognize more clearly and venerate more devoutly the merciful and motherly sovereignty of her who bore God in her womb". (Ven. Pius XII, Ad. Caeli Reginam). On the day of her Assumption, Mary our Mother was solemnly crowned by Christ and received by the whole court of Heaven as Queen. What Christ has done in Heaven and the Church has done on our behalf we should now do individually, that is, we should recognize Mary's Queenship, enthrone her in our homes, consecrate ourselves to her and, by this means, establish in our lives the reign of Mary Immaculate Queen of the Universe. Mary Immaculate Queen: Triumph and Reign. Marriage Convalidation Ceremony with Bishop Mark O Connell Are you or someone close to you married but not with the blessing of the Church? Saint John Paul II Shrine of Divine Mercy 28 St. Peter Street Salem, MA 01970 THE NEW ALTAR and IMPROVEMENTS IN OUR SHRINE Plans are underway for the new altar at our shrine. The Shrine has been blessed by the financial support from many donors. An amount of $60,000 has been raised to cover the cost of the altar. We also received a donation to cover the cost of the two images on either side of the altar. Currently the altar is being constructed in Poland and it will be sent here by ship. There s also an HVAC system in our plans to make the upper church more comfortable and also to fight with moisture in the upper church. We are also thinking about an elevator/lift to make our upper church available for everyone where the main altar with all the relics will be installed. We want it to be available for everyone so the next step is to make handicap bathrooms accessible. In the meantime, there is work to be done in preparation for the new altar. The masonry outside the church has been repaired as well as several small roof leaks. New gutters have been installed on the rectory. The inside walls behind the altar have been sealed and painted. The presbytery will have to be painted before the altar is installed. These repairs and renovations are costly and we need to raise funds for this purpose. You may also notice new insulated windows in the assembly room and the upper sacristy. These are a great improvement which will save on heating and cooling costs. There is also new fencing in front of the church. We are also in the process of looking to reopen our school building. This is a daunting task as the building needs major renovations. There are many men in the shrine community who have offered their time and skills to complete these projects. We would only have to pay for materials. In order to have heat and water in the school the pipes need to be repaired. The Archdiocese will cover this cost through insurance; however, we must have the asbestos covering the pipes removed. Asbestos removal is also necessary on the boiler and in the cafeteria. The second collections are presently held for this reason. I am grateful to those who, through spiritual and physical help, engage in the development of our church and school buildings. We wish to have the shrine attract many people who will find spiritual fulfillment and become disciples sharing the word of Christ to others. Thank you again for your kindness, prayers and financial support. May God bless you all. Please contact: Rector of the Shrine, Fr.
