Students also gain knowledge about specific world tourist regions; determination of the tourist products, identification of cultural heritage, creation of tourism infrastructure, prospects for regional development, strengths and weaknesses of the tourist regions, determinants of tourism development. The abovementioned issues are discussed and trained during field trips which aim to focus on given tourist regions. The combination and theory and practice in the field enables students to comprehend the tourist regions, understand their creation, delimitation and advertisement. Students also learn the basic facts about given tourist regions and focus their attentions on their characteristic features, attractions and facilities. Lectures: 1. Types of regions, World tourist regions according to UNWTO. 2. Definitions associated with regions. 3. Managing tourism in regions & regional policymaking. 4. Tourist space. 5. Local and regional self-government in tourism. 6. Factors for development of tourism in region. 7. Modern trends in tourism and 2025 UNWTO forecast. 8. Competitiveness of the tourist regions. 9. Tourism product development in region. Workshops in the form of field trips during which students will focus on: 1. Determination of the tourist products. 2. Identification of cultural heritage. Identification of specific world tourist regions Location, boundaries (surface, number of people in the capital region, population density, administrative authorities, etc.). Features of the geographical environment (terrain, distinctive elevations/depressions, viewpoints, mountains, lakes, forests, etc.). Geographical environment - the dominants (qualities and defects). Features regional, ethnic separateness, products, food, regional souvenirs. Religion. National/ethnic minorities. Currency. Official language and dialects. Climate. Resources, tourist & recreational attractions, the most attractive place for tourists (UNESCO, hiking trails, national parks, etc.) Tourism and recreational infrastructure, with particular emphasis on communication. (Network of national roads, highways, maritime links, etc., accommodation, farmhouses, examples, the price level.) Features of the holiday season (along with statistics on tourist traffic in the region compared to the winter season) Opportunities for various forms of recreation, sports and tourism, including qualified tourism. Statistical data on the region (eg tourism in different years, comparison with other regions, applications, the number of tourists visiting the individual sites, etc.). Own impressions of the visit, the attitude of local people to tourists and tourism. Number of tourists from abroad (statistics). Recurring events taking place in region - recreational, religious (characteristics of pilgrims, pilgrimage) and cultural (festivals, fairs, exhibitions, concerts, etc.) After the course students are asked to prepare a thesis on the tourist region 3 3 2

Moreover, active participation as well as attendance of the students will be taken into consideration. Student has to acquire a positive mark from workshops to get a positive mark from the final exam.
