4 Page Four January 22, 2017 Fr. Matt s Message Today's Gospel shows us Jesus who is continuously on the way. We might be tempted to say that God is dynamic. He is still active in time and in history. He is constantly taking the initiative in search of man, especially the one who is lost, who is ill and needs a doctor. The vocation of the first Apostles shows us very clearly that Jesus needs our commitment to execute works of mercy. We do not need to worry about the qualifications according to the logic of this world. Calling the simple people of Galilee shows us that He rather loved what is weak in the eyes of people and the world. Therefore, let us not be afraid to get up from the comfortable chairs and couches in our lives. Let us not be afraid to take a new and radically different look at what surrounds us. Let us stand up today and preach the Gospel of the kingdom of God, using this to heal every disease and weakness of our human condition. God will always eluded our human wisdom. Let us rather try to learn His way of thinking. That is what conversion really means. My dear parishioners, I sincerely invite you all again to join us on Saturday, January 28, for the Pierogi Fest hosted by our Boy Scouts. We will meet in McGowan hall right after Mass at 5:00 PM. Let us help their initiative and spend time together. Also, don t forget about our upcoming Valentine's Day Dance on Saturday, February 11, at 7:00 PM. It promises to be a wonderful evening, filled with good music, food, and a friendly atmosphere. You can buy tickets after each Mass, or in the Parish Office. More details can be found on in our bulletin and on the flyers around the exits of the Church. You are cordially invited! Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment. Moglibyśmy pokusić się o stwierdzenie, że Bóg jest dynamiczny. Jest ciągle aktywny w czasie i historii. Nieustannie podejmuje inicjatywę w poszukiwaniu człowieka, szczególnie tego, który się pogubił, który jest chory i potrzebuje lekarza. Powołanie pierwszych Apostołów pokazuje nam bardzo wyraźnie, że Jezus potrzebuje naszego zaangażowania w dzieło miłosierdzia. Nie musimy się martwić kwalifikacjami według logiki tego świata. Powołując prostych ludzi z Galilei pokazuje, że umiłował raczej to co słabe w oczach ludzi i świata. Nie bójmy się zatem wstać z wygodnych foteli i kanap naszego życia. Nie bójmy się nowego i radykalnie różnego spojrzenia na to co nas otacza. Wstańmy już dziś i idźmy głosić Ewangelię o królestwie Bożym, lecząc tym samym wszelkie choroby i słabości naszej ludzkiej kondycji. Bóg zawsze będzie sie wymykał naszym schematom myślowym. Próbujmy uczyć się Jego sposobu myślenia. Na tym właśnie polega nawrócenie. Moi drodzy bardzo serdecznie zapraszam jeszcze raz w najbliższą sobotę 28 stycznia na Pierogi Fest przygotowywany przez naszych harcerzy. Spotykamy się bezpośrednio po mszy św. o godz. 16:00 w sali pod kościołem. Proszę wspomóżmy ich inicjatywę i bądźmy razem. Pamiętajcie również o zbliżającej się wielkimi krokami corocznej zabawie walentynkowej 11 lutego w sobotę o godz. 19:00. Zapowiada się wspaniały wieczór pełen dobrej muzyki, przyjaźni i rodzinnej atmosfery. Bilety możecie zakupić po każdej mszy św. albo w biurze parafialnym. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), no. 373, designates January 22 as a particular day of prayer and penance, called the "Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children : In all the Dioceses of the United States of America, January 22 (or January 23, when January 22 falls on a Sunday) shall be observed as a particular day of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion.

Rosary Prayer Group In our parish, we have a Rosary Prayer Group, who meets every Tuesday and Thursday to pray the Rosary together in English, after the 8:00 AM Mass. We welcome all to join this wonderful group. We would like to start a Polish Rosary Prayer Group, as well. All who wish to join this group are invited to attend a meeting on the first Saturday in February, 2/4, after the Polish Mass at 8:30 AM. If you know anyone who would be interested in joining, please spread the word! Grupa Różańcowa W naszej parafii działa już Grupa Różańcowa w języku Angielskim, która spotyka się w każdy wtorek i czwartek na wspólnej modlitwie różańcowej, po Mszy świętej o godzinie 8.00 AM. Serdecznie zapraszamy do przyłączenia się do tej grupy. Chcielibyśmy by przy naszej parafii powstała też polska Grupa Różańcowa, czyli Żywy Różaniec. 9 Third Sunday in Ordinary Time Page Nine On Saturday, January 14, we celebrated our 5th Annual International Christmas Celebration in McGowan Hall after the 4:00 PM Mass. Around 200 people came together for this celebration! Thank you to all who helped prepare this event and everyone who shared their traditional dishes with us. We had foods from all around the world, and everything was delicious! We hope everyone had a good time and if you couldn t make it, we hope to see you next year!
