3 Page 3 From the Pastor s Desk Dearly Beloved! This coming Tuesday we will celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will celebrate the Vigil Mass in English on Tuesday, August 14th and Wednesday, August 15th in the following order: in English at 6:30 am, 8:30 am, 5:00 pm, in Polish at 7:30 am, 12:00 pm, 6:30 pm, and in Spanish at 8:00 pm. Let us together adore Jesus with His Holy Mother. In ten days we will enjoy our Parish Carnival at the intersection of the street 79th Street and Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview. Let us pray for great - sunny weather, participants safety, all parishioners support and attendance. Let us pray that next year s carnival will take place on the parish grounds. We are still selling Mega passes for all carnival rides. Mega pass, only $50.00 each- could make a wonderful gift for your children. This year, in addition to the local food vendors, we will sell dishes from our international parish kitchens. Thursday we will have the Filipino food, Friday Mexican, Saturday Polish, Sunday - Parish Sweet Table, and coffee. In addition this year we will hold Bingo games. We are still in need of carnival volunteers. Also, anyone that is able to make a donation to the Carnival Silent Auction, please bring your items to the parish office. I thank you for all your help and embrace you with my prayers. Beginning the First Sunday of August, each parish family or individual parishioners will have the opportunity to fund two flower bouquets for the Tabernacle in the church Sanctuary. Willing sponsors are invited to the sacristy to reserve a preferred Sunday date in our special donor book. On their chosen Sunday we will pray for the intention of their family and will place a special thank you note in the parish bulletin. May your floral bouquets for Jesus be a symbol of our thanksgiving for His daily Sea of Grace. Today, in a special way I would like to thank the Jarka family; owners of the Lawn Funeral Home for continuous financial support of St. Albert the Great Parish and school. We are all blessed to have such a kind benefactor in our parish. Lawn Funeral Home has made many generous donations for the parish renovations and improvement projects. They treat everyone with respect, kindness, and consideration. Please, observe that location of the funeral home is very convenient, very close to the Church, has a very large parking lot and offers services in three languages (English, Polish and Spanish). I recommend and hope that our parish families will remember and consider using the services of Lawn Funeral Home if such need should arise. This would be a great way for our Parish Family to express gratitude to the Jarka Family for all they do for us. May Christ s Blessings strenghten all of us in the coming week! 5 Moi Kochani! Page 5 Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza W najbliższy wtorek (15 sierpnia) przeżywać będziemy Uroczystość Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny. Ponieważ jest to święto obowiązkowe dlatego w naszym kościele będziemy mieć wiele nabożeństw. W języku angielskim: poniedziałek (Msza wigilina) o godz. 7 wieczorem oraz we wtorek o godz. 6:30, 8:30 i 5:00 popołudniu. W języku polskim: o godz. 7:30 rano, 12 w południe i o godz. 6:30 popołudniu. W języku hiszpańskim o godz. 8:00 wieczorem. Proszę was, abyśmy wspólnie wraz z Matką Bożą uwielbiali naszego Pana! Już za 10 dni (24,25,26 i 27 sierpień) celebrować będziemy nasz Parafialny Karnawał w Bridgeview na skrzyżowaniu ulicy 79 Str. i Harlem Ave. Módlmy się o dobrą i słoneczną pogodę na czas karnawału; módlmy się o bezpieczeństwo w czasie tych dni; módlmy się o liczną frekwencję oraz módlmy się, aby nasz karnawał w przyszłości wrócił na plac przed naszym kościołem. W dalszym ciągu możemy zakupić dla dzieci i młodzieży tzw. Mega Pass (specjalny bilet na wszystkie karuzele we wszystkie dni karnawału). Cena Mega Pass wynosi 50 $ i może to być wspaniały upominek z okazji zakończenia wakacji dla waszych pociech. Nowością w tym roku w czasie karnawału będzie nasza parafialna, międzynarodowa kuchnia. W czwartek będziemy kosztować potrawy filipińskie, w piątek potrawy meksykańskie, w sobotę delektować się będziemy jedzeniem polskim, a w niedziele będziemy mieć parafialny słodki stół z kubkiem wyśmienitej i smacznej kawy. Ponadto w czasie karnawału będziemy mieć bingo. W dalszym ciągu potrzebujemy wolontariuszy do pomocy przy karnawale. Wszystkich chętnych do pomocy prosimy o kontakt z kancelarią. Proszę was także o przynoszenie nowych rzeczy, które w czasie naszego karnawału wezmą udział w tzw. loterii fantowej. Wszystkie te rzeczy proszę przynosić do kancelarii parafialnej. Za wszelką pomoc na rzecz karnawału z głębi serca dziękuję i ogarniam was moją życzliwą i gorliwą modlitwą. Od pierwszej niedzieli miesiąca sierpnia każda rodzina naszej parafii ma możliwość ufundowania dwóch bukietów kwiatów przy tabernakulum z Najświętszym Sakramentem. W zakrystii lub w biurze parafialnym znajduje się specjalna książka z rozpisem wszystkich niedziel na który możemy wpisać imię i nazwisko swojej rodziny. W intencji tych rodzin, które ufundowały dwa bukiety kwiatów modlić się będziemy w każdą niedzielę oraz w naszym biuletynie umieścimy specjalne podziękowanie. Niech ten bukiet dwóch kwiatów będzie także formą wdzięczności dla Jezusa, który codziennie obdarza nas i naszych bliskich morzem łask. Jak wiecie wszyscy dobrze naszym wielkim parafialnym dobrodziejem jest dom pogrzebowy Lawn Funeral Home. Kiedy proszę ich o pomoc finansową dla naszej Parafii czy naszej Katolickiej Szkoły to zawsze są chętni nam pomóc. Jeszcze się nie zdarzyło, aby nam odmówili jakiejkolwiek pomocy. Dlatego zawsze ich popieram i zachęcam was do korzystania z ich usług. Usługi ich domu pogrzebowego są profesjonalne, pełne taktu, zrozumienia i życzliwości. Ich usługi są na najwyższym poziomie. Pamiętajcie, że lokalizacja ich domu pogrzebowego jest bardzo dogodna, bardzo blisko do kościoła, bardzo duży parking oraz serwis aż w trzech językach (angielski, polski i hiszpański). Bardzo więc was proszę o korzystanie w przyszłości z ich usług. W ten sposób możemy im wyrazić naszą wdzięczność za wszystko co robią dla naszego kościoła i szkoły. Cena Mega Pass to 50 $ (wszystkie karuzele przez 4 dni od czwartku do niedzieli). Mega Pass można zakupić u marszałków lub w tygodniu w kancelarii parafialnej.
