3 From the Pastor s Desk My Dearly Beloved! Last week we completed the renovation of our distressed by time sacristy. If anyone of you would like to see the effects of this work, you are welcome to stop at the sacristy after the mass. At this point, I would like to thank all those who worked very hard on the renovation our sacristy. I embrace all our benefactors and workers with a kind prayer of the Holy Rosary. I would like to thank all the good people for the gift of water, which in the coming days we will deliver to the flood victims in Texas. Thousands of bottles of water will go to the children from the Our Lady of Fatima school in Texas City, TX. I am happy and very proud that so many of you responded to my call to help the hurricane victims in Texas. Of course, our prayer embraces all victims in Florida and Puerto Rico, as well as the victims of the shooting in Las Vegas. A few days ago we ordered from Italy two bas-relief sculptures; one represents Our Lady of Sorrows and one St. John the Evangelist (it is the representation of the scene at the foot of the cross). I hope that these bas-reliefs will arrive by Christmas to be placed in our renovated presbytery. This thought of enrichment for our presbytery around Jesus Crucified came from you. Thank you very much for this beautiful and noble idea. At the same time, with great humility I turn to you with a special request: if anyone of you, your family members or friends would like to make a donation toward this undertaking, I will be forever grateful. "The fruit of our common work" will "forever" stay in our St. Albert the Great Church. In addition, we will dedicate a special plaque with the donor's names, which will also remain in our church. 5 Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Moi Kochani! W ostatnim tygodniu zakończyliśmy remont naszej zniszczonej przez czas zakrystii. Gdyby ktoś z was chciałby zobaczyć efekty tej pracy to po zakończeniu Mszy Świętej zapraszam chętnych do zakrystii. W tym miejscu pragnę bardzo serdecznie podziękować tym wszystkim, którzy w pocie czoła odnowili naszą zakrystię. Wszystkich naszych dobroczyńców i wszystkich pracowników ograniam życzliwą modlitwą różańcową. Dziękuję także wszystkim ludziom dobrej woli za dar wody, którą w najbliższych dniach zawieziemy do powodzian w Texasie. Tysiące butelek wody trafią do dzieci ze szkoły pod wezwaniem Our Lady of Fatima School w Texas City, TX. Cieszę się i jestem z was bardzo dumny, że tak wielu z was odpowiedziało na mój apel o konkretną pomoc dla poszkodowanych przez żywioł w Texasie. Oczywiście wciąż naszą modlitwą ogarniamy poszkodowanych w Texasie, na Florydzie i w Puerto Rico. Modlimy się także za ofiary strzelaniny w Las Vegas. Kilka dni temu zostały zamówione we Włoszech dwie płaskorzeźby Matki Bożej Bolesnej i św. Jana Ewangelisty (scena pod krzyżem). Mam nadzieję, że te płaskorzeźby jeszcze przed Świętami Bożego Narodzenia zostaną umieszczone w naszym odnowionym prezbiterium. Ten pomysł ubogacenia naszego prezbiterium wokół Jezusa Ukrzyżowanego wyszedł od was. Za ten piękny i szlachetny pomysł bardzo wam dziękuję! Jednocześnie z wielką pokorą zwracam się do was z kolejną prośbą: gdyby ktoś z was oraz ktoś z waszych rodzin i bliskich chciałby złożyć donację na ten cel to będę za to dozgonnie wdzięczny. To nasze wspólne dzieło pozostanie na wieki w naszym kościele. Ponadto wszyscy ofiarodawcy będą mieć specjalną tablicę umieszczoną także na wieki w naszym kościele. Osoby czy też rodziny zainteresowane złożeniem takiej specjalnej donacji na płaskorzeźby bardzo proszę o kontakt z moją osobą lub z kancelarią parafialną. The old Roman Canon faded away into relative disuse after 1600 unbroken years, sometimes heard only at Christmas Midnight Mass or the Easter Vigil. The new Eucharistic Prayer IV, at least in its English form, grates a bit on most hearers, and besides is meant only for Ordinary Time. The reconstruction of the ancient prayer of Hippolytus, Eucharistic Prayer II, is the most familiar, but its brevity sometimes creates an imbalance with the Liturgy of the Word. No wonder that as soon as the creative juices began to flow at the Vatican, people worldwide were trying their hands at new prayers. In 1967, even before the final shape of the new Mass was announced, bishops were asking to adapt that celebration for the needs of children. They wanted to clarify what ought to happen when large numbers of children are at Mass: what could be adapted, omitted, or shortened. Experimentation had already begun. Separate Liturgies of the Word for children were by this time commonplace in Holland and elsewhere in Europe. Catechists were saying that many of our liturgical forms were too complex for the children in their charge, and priests were making adaptations on their own.
