This attitude is akin to what the first hearers of the parable of the successful farmer would have thought: Why, of course he d want to find a way to preserve his good fortune for the future, to secure for himself a life of leisure, eating, drinking, and merriment. 3 Dear Friends! I am with you the an entire month already, and with great joy I would like to let you know that you make me feel at home! Every day, I experience a lot of kindness, support, and prayers. For your love, I want to reply with my love. Being a pastor is not an easy task; it involves a greater responsibility for all matters of the parish. This parish is my home and I have to care for it with prudence. A good pastor from time to time has to say "NO"! A pastor needs to look for savings and reduction of expense. Thus, beginning August 1st the following changes will take place in our parish: The parish office will now be open daily 9 hours, not 12 (new hours are: Monday -Friday from 9:00 am to pm. 6:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm., and will be closed on Sundays); Parish office and the Adoration Chapel will be closed for all national holidays such as: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving, etc. On these holidays we will not have the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel due to low attendance and safety reasons; Thursday s Parish Holy Hour The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament - will be celebrated in the Adoration Chapel (Thursdays from 7:30 pm to pm. 8:30 pm); Priests and Deacons (Deacon Irv and Deacon Raymundo) are assigned for the Deposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Chapel on a weekly basis; To avoid extra expense, we are reducing the number of parish organists and cantors; Change will be implemented in the administration of Religious Education Program CCD; I would like all parishioners to receive the best service; therefore, I will invite your favorite priests to occasionally celebrate Sunday Mass here at St. Albert s. 4 TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Sometimes the treasures of art can provide us with clues about traditions. Take, for example, the miter, the conical hat with lappets, or back-flaps that fall to the shoulders. This cap is worn by bishops in the Catholic West. Eastern Catholics favor a crown, but we have this curious headpiece. In Greek, the word means turban. Old paintings and mosaics provide clues about headgear for bishops, and there is very little artistic evidence for the miter before the year Before then, some kind of head covering might have been worn to offset the damp and chill of unheated churches. The pope, as far back as the seventh century, often wore a cap called a camelaucum. Around that time, artists painting St. Peter began to portray their subject wearing this hat. By the year 1000 or so, the pope began to grant similar helmetshaped headgear as gifts to visiting abbots and bishops. They returned home with these new chapeaus, and before long everybody wanted one! Today, miters are granted not only to bishops, but to certain favored abbots and occasionally abbesses. Pope Benedict XVI set aside the tradition of the papal tiara in favor of the miter, even on his coat of arms. Pope Paul VI was the last pope to have a coronation. As recently as the 1960s, miters were towering skyscrapers of jewels and rich silks, but now a simplicity of style is favored by bishops. Miters are here to stay, and experienced altar servers know how to await the bishop s removing of the miter, since he does not wear it when he is saying the presidential prayers or the Eucharistic Prayer. 6 Drodzy Przyjaciele! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Jestem z wami pierwszy miesiąc i chcę wam powiedzieć z radością, że czuję się tutaj świetnie, jestem naprawdę w swoim domu! Codziennie doświadczam mnóstwo życzliwości, pomocy i modlitwy. Na waszą miłość chcę odpowiedzieć wam moją miłością. Bycie proboszczem nie jest wcale łatwe. Wiąże się to z większą odpowiedzialnością o sprawy parafii. Parafia jest moim domem o który trzeba się dobrze i roztropnie troszczyć. Dobry proboszcz od czasu do czasu musi powiedzieć słowo: NIE! Tam gdzie się da trzeba szukać oszczędności. A zatem, od 1-go sierpnia zostają wprowadzone pewne zmiany. Oto one: Kancelaria parafialna będzie otwarta teraz nie 12 godzin a 9 godzin (poniedziałek piątek od 9:00 rano do godz. 6:00 popołudniu i w sobotę od 9:00 rano do 1:00 popołudniu. W niedzielę kancelaria jest zamknięta); We wszystkie święta amerykańskie (np. July 4th, Święto Dziękczynienia, Labor Day etc.) nie tylko kancelaria będzie zamknięta ale również ze względów bezpieczeństwa kaplica z Najświętszym Sakramentem będzie też zamknięta; Godzina Święta-Holy Hour Adoration będzie teraz celebrowana nie w kościele ale w kaplicy (czwartek od godz.7:30 wieczorem do godz. 8:30 wieczorem); Depozycje Najświętszego Sakramentu będą też robione nie tylko przez księży ale także przez naszych diakonów stałych: diakona Irv i diakona Raymundo; Ograniczyliśmy też liczbę organistów i kantorów którym trzeba było za to dodatkowo płacić. Proszę jednak pamiętać że organistą numer jeden jest p. Rafał Woźnik; Zmianie ulegnie też funkcjonowanie religijnego programu CCD; Chcę aby wszystkie grupy etniczne w naszym kościele otrzymały najlepszy z możliwych serwisów. Dlatego od czasu do czasu bedę zapraszał waszych ulubionych księży do celebracji niedzielnej Eucharystii; Wszyscy mamy tworzyć TEAM! IGNACEGO POSADZEGO NA ROK 2016/2017 Polska Katolicka Szkoła im. ks. Ignacego Posadzego jest Parafialną Szkołą Świętego Alberta Wielkiego. Zapraszamy wszystkich Rodziców, a szczególnie tych którzy przynależą do naszej parafii do skorzystania z katolickiego programu nauczania w Szkole, która odwołuje się do chrześcijańskich wartości, o które każdy z nas powinien zabiegać, pielęgnować je i przekazywać. Nie jest dobrze, gdy dziecko czegoś innego uczy się w domu, niż w szkole czy w Kościele. Musimy zadbać o jedność w działaniu czyli w wychowywaniu, a wtedy będziemy silniejsi, a tym samym dzieci będą silniejsze, dumne ze swego POLSKIEGO POCHODZENIA i z WYZNAWANEJ WIARY! INFORMACJE TECHNICZNE: * SPRZEDAŻ PODRĘCZNIKÓW oraz dodatkowa rejestracja odbędzie się w sobotę 20 i 27 sierpnia od godz 9:00 rano do 12 w południe w budynku szkolnym. * Nowy Rok Szkolny i Katechetyczny rozpoczniemy DNIA 8 WRZEŚNIA - W CZWARTEK w uroczystość Narodzenia Najświętszej Marii Panny. Na Mszę Świętą o godzinie 5:30 pm w kościele Św.
