Page Four RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION The Religious Education Program is designed for children from 1st grade through 8th grade that do not attend a Catholic Elementary School. The program is an essential responsibility for our parish to help children learn and grow in faith formation and to fulfill the Baptismal promise made when a child was baptized to raise the child in the Catholic faith. The religious education of a child is about all of us, as members of the Church learning, witnessing and growing together, as God s family. The Spirit of God gathers us together when a child attends Religious Education and teaches, nourishes and strengthens us to be good followers of Jesus. Our program begins on Sunday, September 18 and continues through Sunday, May 21, 2017. We meet every Sunday and attend the Noon Mass on the first and third Sundays of a month. Registration will be on Sunday, August 28 and September 11 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the lobby of the school. Bring $50 registration fee and child s Baptism Certificate. St. William RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION & CONFIRMATION PREP Are you someone or do you know someone who Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? Was baptized through the Catholic Church or another Christian faith, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist? We offer an opportunity to come together to learn more about our faith through the RCIA and Confirmation Prep programs. In our group session we will focus on spiritual growth as we learn about the beliefs, practices and truths of our Catholic faith. The sessions are designed for teenagers in high school and adults who would like to complete their initiation into the Roman Catholic Church, grow in their faith and celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, March 19, 2017. The tuition for Confirmation Prep is $150.00 for the year along with a $50.00 (non-refundable) administrative and book fee due at registration. "PANIE, NAUCZ NAS SIĘ MODLIĆ Jakże często prosimy choćby o słońce, gdy pada deszcz, lub o deszcz, gdy pada słońce i nie zawsze pogoda się zmienia, tak jakbyśmy chcieli. Prosimy o podwyżkę, o zdanie egzaminu, o pociąg na czas, o uśmiech dziewczyny czy chłopaka. Prosimy o pracę, o zdrowie dla dziecka, o dłuższe życie dla umierającego rodzica, o ocalenie podczas katastrofy...prosimy, a przecież często nasze modlitwy wydają się być niewysłuchane, Bóg jakby głuchy albo milczący. W Ewangeliach wiele razy jesteśmy świadkami różnych cudów, nieraz bardzo spektakularnych. Ale gdy się zatrzymamy nad tekstami Ewangelii, o wiele częściej jesteśmy świadkami modlitw czy to szeptanych, czy to krzyczanych ku niebu, które pozostaje głuche. Rozpacz i modlitwy matek dzieci betlejemskich, zawiedzione nadzieje wielu ślepców, tragedie paralityków, którzy pozostali na swych łożach. Spośród tysięcy zmarłych tylko troje zostało wskrzeszonych: Łazarz, chłopiec z Nain i córeczka Jaira. A inni?! Dlaczego nie inni? Może nasze modlitwy są zbytnio NASZYMI modlitwami, może brakuje im tego pierwotnego zaufania i skierowania się ku Bogu: Wszakże nie jak Ja chcę, ale jak Ty (Mt 26, 39); Może dlatego są niewysłuchane, bo jesteśmy zbyt daleko od Boga, bo zbyt słabo Go znamy? Czy jesteśmy w stanie bez buntu powtórzyć pokorne słowa Hioba: Dał Pan i zabrał Pan. niech będzie imię Pańskie błogosławione!? (Hi 1, 21). Pragnęlibyśmy, by Bóg sam nas poprowadził przez ciemne doliny naszego życia, a najlepiej by nas przeniósł bezboleśnie na ramionach jak małe dziecko czy jak pasterz zagubioną owieczkę. Wtedy byśmy chętnie i pełnym głosem wychwalali Boga za Jego wielkie dzieła, wtedy usta nasze głosiłyby wszędzie radosną nowinę. Tyle, że Bóg działa inaczej. On nie zmienia wszystkiego wedle naszych życzeń, nie rozpościera czerwonych dywanów. On po prostu idzie z nami jak prawdziwy Emmanuel Bóg z nami.
