6 Switching apparatus DC OWEL - DC indoor secant Application: disconnector OWEL disconnectors are isolating disconnectors designed for closing and opening unloaded circuits in industrial DC current networks. In open position, the disconnector creates visible and safe isolating clearance. It can be installed and operated in closed spaces, in the temperate of - 5 C up to 40 C. The device does not need spare parts during the time of 1000 cycles, but on special request the spare parts can be delivered to the customer. The replacement should be coordinated with the ELTOM company. 22 Switching apparatus AC UWS-EL, UWA-EL - indoor 3-pole earthing switches Presented earthing switches are designed for indoor use, at voltages from 12 to 24 kv and short circuit current from 16 to 31,5 ka. Earthing switch UW-EL have the ability to switch in cases of short - circuit, protecting the operator of the systems and also equipment, in the event of careless operations. Each earthing switch is equipped with a spring mechanism. This causes the closing of the circuit is independent of manual maneuvering speed. Normally, you can choose the side of operation and the direction of current flow, without any restrictions, with the exception of a few varieties of complex earthing current transformers. 28 Switching apparatus AC Construction and operation: Disconnectors OW-EL type have secant design. The basis of the disconnector is a steel frame. On the basis there are post insulators mounted, on which there is the current path mounted. Interpolar isolation is an air gap. Version with smaller interpolar divider is equipped with isolating boards. Disconnectors OW-EL may be driven with motor drive type NS-EL 30-03 or manual drive type NR-1. The design of switches with rated current 630 A and 1600 A allows for extension with earthing switch. Earthing can be placed lower (from the side of inseparable contact) or it can be placed upper (from the side of separable contact). Disconnector with integrated earthing switch (upper or lower) is equipped with mechanical lock, providing proper switching. On the basis of the disconnector there is earth electrode type terminal with bolt M12 x 40. 34 Switching apparatus AC Structure: The disconnector has monopolar, two-column horizontally rotating structure. The busbar (placed on the post insulators) consists of two sets of connectors- left and right, cooperating with each other. The terminals and central contacts are made of electrolytic copper covered with silver. Contact this design uses the additional influence of electrodynamic forces generated during the flow of short-circuit, causing additional pressure. Supply conduits are mounted to rotary terminals. The connection the conductors to the disconnector is provided by M12 bolts. The basis of the disconnector is made of rigid frame, welded of steel sections. To the basis two bearing bodies are mounted and post insulators are bolted to that bodies. Regulating pins, mounted at the base of insulators provide smooth angle compensation. In the upper part of the rotary body are placed flat levers, which (with strings and crank shaft) makes transmission, providing simultaneous rotation of insulators of 90⁰. Grounding blade is fixed to the lever mechanism providing the possibility of rotary and plane motion. In the first stage, grounding blade is rotated to the vertical, and then is pushed into the permanent contact, which is located in the busbar. 38 Switching apparatus AC RW - 3-pole indoor cut-off switch Construction and operation: RW-type cut-off switches are three-pole devices with secant movement of blade of current path. The apparatus have modular design. You can easily equip a basic version of the earthing switch (top or bottom). The fixed contacts are made of copper flat and covered with a layer of silver. High technical parameters are the result of the applied solution of the main path coupled with arcing contact. Opening and closing the arcing contacts is delayed compared to the main contacts (movable). During the shutdown process, arc quenching occurs at the arcing contact. Quenching occurs due to the compressed air outlet, through a nozzle (automatically when opening) connected by rapid streching of the arc. The speed of opening and closing the switch is independent of the speed of operation. There are two diffrent mechanism- for opening and closing. The reinforcement of mechanisms occur by motor or manual drive, then both mechanisms are being reinforcemented in the same time, while closing. RW cut-off switches can be driven by motor NS -EL 30-03 or NR- 1 manual drive.
