Streszczenie pracy doktorskiej w dziedzinie sztuk plastycznych w dyscyplinie sztuk projektowych Elementy Wyposażenia Wnętrz z Materiałów Ekologicznych wykonanej pod kierunkiem prof. ASP we Wrocławiu Włodzimierza Dolatowskiego Rezultatem pracy doktorskiej jest dzieło projektowe mające postać struktur użytkowych z tektury falistej. Dwa rodzaje modułów wycinane z arkuszy tektury falistej umożliwiają złożenie brył realizujących funkcję taboretu i stolika (ławy). Pojedynczy moduł został zaimportowany do programu graficznego i przekształcony w rysunek wektorowy rys 4.
Summary of doctoral dissertation in the field of Fine Arts, in the discipline of Design: Elements of Interior Design made of Ecological Materials performed under the direction of Włodzimierz Dolatowski, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław The result of the presented dissertation is a design work in the form of utility structures made of corrugated cardboard. Two types of modules, cut from sheets of corrugated cardboard allow the assembly of solids with a stool and a table (bench) functions. Stool consists of four equal parts slid; two from the top and two from the bottom side (see Fig. 1). Table consists of eight identical elements and is assembled in the same way as the stool (see Fig. 2). Obtaining utility structures built of repetitive elements was one of the assumption adopted in the course of the work implementation. Yet another important aspect of the utility process has been the possibility for object assembling by one person only. The area of paper furniture utilization is very wide. They prove themselves, taking into account their short life-time, as a temporary interior equipment. They can also be used to arrange occasional events in the public space. Corrugated cardboard is completely a recyclable material on an industrial scale, and thus this thesis addresses the ecological aspect. It is consistent with the assumptions of the recycling stream described as 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Thinking about such as ecological material as paper starts right from the manufacturing stage, since for its production, the waste paper is used in a very large extent. Furthermore, the wood pulp, which is an essential component in the paper manufacture, is obtained from trees felled during nursing work in the tree crops. The project has been implemented using software Rhinoceros 4.0 for the spatial modelling and CorelDraw x5 computer programme. A model of the module (see Fig. 3) has been created in the 3D programme and subsequently duplicated. In this way, functional three-dimensional object has been formed. A single module has been imported into a graphics programme and converted into a vector drawing, as shown in Fig. 4. Thus, the matrix for cutting the programmed shape by the plotter has been created. This allowed to receive the units ready for module folding and/or printed templates which could be easily transferred onto the user s material. It may be, for example, cardboard comes from large packaging. This method of production is related to the concept of DIY (Do It Yourself). The proposed utility process can be modified at the production stage depending on the planned amount of furniture. This allows the designer to become a producer and distributor at the same time or to engage a large intermediary in case of the mass production. Similarly, in the case of colour solutions, graphics can be applied by printing on plotters or by flexographic techniques used on an industrial scale.
