People everywhere were rushing to Church for the Resurrection Mass. The joyful peal of the Easter bells inspired reflection. Contemporary man does not care much for processions and celebrations and yet as every person, regardless of time and age, is yearning for joy, happiness and eternal salvation. On Easter Sunday we celebrate the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This reality despite our shortcomings, unworthiness and sins provides us new hope and meaning of our life. We participate in Easter Sunday Mass with renewed faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and a new vision of our own eternal destiny. Yet many people of the 21st century put their trust into trivial frivolous ideas which in the end leads to nowhere Whatever it is that we seek, let us be inspired by the disciple whom Jesus loved who, when he saw the wrappings of cloth inside the empty tomb, saw and believed. Page 3 EASTER GREETINGS Easter Sunday is a day of faith, joy and rejoicing. The Resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith and the most extra-ordinary happening in human history. There is no other day that compares with Easter Sunday. It is indeed the Day of the Lord. All our hopes happiness emanates from what happened on the first Easter morning. Every Sunday of the year we gather together for Divine Worship and recall Easter Sunday. On this unprecedented day we wish to all our parishioners a joyful, peaceful and happy Easter Sunday. WESOLEGO ALLELUJA HAPPY EASTER - Monsignor Czarnecki and Father Gregory EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE COLLECTION The second collection this weekend is for Educational Excellence at St. Joseph School. Most of our parishioners were educated and formed their character at our school. Needless to say, they carry many fond memories of this educational institution which made such an impact on their entire life. We appreciate your offerings. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY A nine-day Novena to the Divine Mercy began on Good Friday at 6:30pm services and prayed each morning thereafter at the 6:30am Mass. It will conclude with services on April 12th at 3:00pm with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, singing of the Chaplet and Benediction. ANOINTING SERVICE The sacrament of the sick will be administered in our Basilica next Sunday, April 12th at 2:30pm The Sacred Heart Society members will be on hand to assist with the elderly and disabled. We encourage parishioners to bring their loved ones for this special sacramental opportunity THANK YOU TO OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS I am grateful for all of our industrious and dedicated volunteers who because of their tremendous energy last Wednesday and Thursday we were able to hold another successful pierogi sale. CEMETERY UPDATE As we slowly recover from our extra-ordinary ferocious winter, I would like to thank you for your patience as we try to recoup our St. Joseph Garden of Peace to its usual Spring environment. There is damage in several places done by service vehicles or other means. As conditions improve we will restore the lawn damaged areas with loam. In the next few weeks as temperatures rise we will continue to spruce up these holy grounds. SCHOOL NEWS Massachusetts State Geography Bee Finals - Our 8th grade student, Bartosz Mamro participated in the finals of our annual state geography bee. Bartosz won the SJS geography bee the past three years. This year s win made him eligible to continue to compete by taking a written geography test scored by the National Geographic Bee Committee. The 100 highest scoring students then go on to the preliminary rounds of the State Competition which includes eight rounds of questions. Ten of the best scorers go on to the Final round. Bartosz was one of 19 students with a perfect score and qualified for the top ten finalists and completed four more rounds. He was one of only two students from Worcester County private and public school who qualified for the finals. Congratulations to Bartosz for representing our school and bringing us such a distinguished honor! Alex Gardner - was inducted into the Worcester State University Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. This is the College Freshman National Honor Society, which recognizes College Freshman with a GPA of 3.5-4.0 during their first semester in college. Alex earned a GPA of 3.87. He is a graduate of St. Joseph School, class of 2010 and is pursuing a degree in Visual & Performing Arts with a concentration in Theater and Music, focusing on vocal performance. Alex is the son of Cindi Gardner also an aluma of SJS. Congratulations to Alex for a job well done and good luck in his future endeavors. KRONIKA PARAFIALNA NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA 5 kwietnia 2015 Nie umrę, lecz będę żył, i głosił dzieła Pańskie. (Ps 117, 17) Niedziela Wielkanocna to przede wszystkim dzień poszukiwań. Pierwotna wspólnota chrześcijańska zgromadzona wokół Apostołów poszukuje znaczenia i misji Chrystusa. Św. Paweł do ochrzczonych Kolosan mówi, aby poszukiwali czego co w górze. Maria Magdalena idzie do grobu, aby tam odnaleźć ciało Pana i namaścić je. My tez przychodzimy w Niedzielę Wielkanocna do kościoła w poszukiwaniu wielu rzeczy. Dla niektórych jest to wyprawa dokonywana raz do roku w poszukiwaniu łączności z fundamentami wiary chrześcijańskiej. Dla innych jest to kulminacyjny dzień wielkopostnych zmagań i poświęceń czy pokuty. Dal nowo ochrzczonych jest to pierwszy dzień nowego życia wypełnionego nadzieją. Czegokolwiek poszukujemy, inspirujmy się postawą ucznia, który zobaczywszy pusty grób i materiał, w który było zawinięte ciało Jezusa zobaczył i uwierzył. ŻYCZENIA Wielkanoc to czas wiary i radości. Zmartwychwstanie Jezusa jest filarem naszej wiary i najbardziej wyjątkowym wydarzeniem w historii ludzkości. Żaden inny dzień w roku nie może porównać się z Niedzielą Wielkanocną. Jest to w istocie Dzień Pański. Na tym, co wydarzyło się w Wielkanocny poranek opierają się nasze wszystkie nadzieje. Kiedy zbieramy się w ciągu roku na niedzielnej Eucharystii, przywołujemy na pamięć wydarzenia właśnie tego poranka. NIEDZIELA BOŻEGO MIŁOSIERDZIA Nowenna do Miłosierdzia Bożego rozpocznę się w Wielki Piątek, dziewięć dni przed Niedzielą Miłosierdzia, która jest obchodzona zawsze tydzień po Wielkanocy. Nowennę będziemy odmawiali codziennie do niedzieli 12 kwietnia. W Niedzielę Miłosierdzia zgromadzimy się na godzinę 14:30 na nabożeństwie Namaszczenia Chorych. A następnie przed Najświętszym Sakramentem odmówimy Koronkę do Miłosierdzia Bożego. NAMASZCZENIE CHORYCH Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych jest przeznaczony dla tych, którzy zmagają się z dolegliwościami duszy i ciała. Nie jest on przeznaczony jedynie dla tych, którzy zbliżają się do końca swojego ziemskiego życia. Można go przyjmować wielokrotnie. W najbliższą niedzielę zapraszamy wszystkich, którzy pragną prosić Boga o wsparcie w swoich słabościach. Nabożeństwo Namaszczenia Chorych odbędzie się o godz. 14:30. Na naszym cmentarzu również pomału powraca normalny porządek.
