Page Four June 24, 2018 Sometimes an impression may arise in us that the world in which we live is governed by its own laws, that it moves forward as if God does not exist. So much suffering in the world, so much injustice. On the one hand, store shelves are overflowing with food and various goods, and on the other, poverty and people dying of hunger. Other times, we get the impression that people who live dishonestly, steal, cheat and lie are much better off than those who try to live in all conscience. In all this, however, let us not be overtaken by doubt and anxiety. Let us try to see and believe that God sends his Angels to us even today, to confirm the truth that He is close, that he loves us, that He cares for us and that He is all powerful. Let us contemplate today on the role of Guardian Angels in our lives. Let's talk to them and tell them a simple, but sincere: "Thank you." With this reflection I say goodbye to you, my dear parishioners, for half a year. Beginning next Sunday, Fr. Marcin will take over my column. Thank you very much for everything. I am asking you to pray for me fervently and remain strong in faith. Allow me to close my remarks with the words of St. Paul from the second letter to the Corinthians: "Finally, brothers, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the holy ones greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the holy Spirit be with all of you." (2 Cor 13: 11 13) Prayers and blessings, Fr. Maciej Galle your Pastor Czasem może narastać w nas swoiste wrażenie, że świat w którym żyjemy rządzi się swoimi własnymi prawami, toczy się do przodu jakby Boga wcale w nim nie było. Tyle na świecie cierpienia, tyle niesprawiedliwości. Z jednej strony zawalone żywnością i przeróżnymi towarami półki sklepowe a z drugiej bieda i ludzie umierający z głodu. Innym razem odnosimy wrażenie, że ludziom, którzy żyją nieuczciwie, kradną, oszukują, kłamią powodzi się o wiele lepiej niż tym, którzy starają się żyć uczciwie. W tym wszystkim jednak nie popadajmy w wątpliwość i spróbujmy zobaczyć i przekonać się, że również dzisiaj do nas Pan Bóg posyła swoje Anioły, żeby potwierdzić prawdę, że jest blisko, że nas kocha, że sie o nas troszczy i że jest wszechmocny. Zastanówmy się dzisiaj nad rolą Aniołów Stróżów w naszym życiu. Porozmawiajmy z nimi i powiedzmy im proste ale szczere: Dziękuję. Tą refleksją żegnam się z wami moi drodzy na pół roku. Od przyszłej niedzieli będzie w tym miejscu publikował ks. Marcin. Bardzo serdecznie za wszytko wam dziękuję. Proszę was, módlcie się gorąco za mnie i trwajcie mocni w wierze. Pozwólcie, że zakończę słowami św. Pawła z drugiego listu do Koryntian: W końcu, bracia, radujcie się, dążcie do doskonałości, pocieszajcie się, bądźcie jednomyślni, zachowujcie pokój, a Bóg miłości i pokoju będzie z wami. Acts of love pass through the gift of a personal name, the sharing of language, the intention behind a gaze, the illumination of a smile. They thus learn that the beauty of the bond between human beings focuses on our soul, seeks our freedom, accepts the difference of others, recognizes and respects them as interlocutors. A second miracle, a second promise: we mother and father give ourselves to you, children, in order to give each of you to yourself! And this is love, which bears a spark of the love of God! But you, dads and moms, have this spark of God which you give to your children, you are an instrument of God s love and this is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Page Six June 24, 2018 FAREWELL & THANK YOU! Dear friends, today I am announcing a change that will take place in our parish community. On June 30 of this year, Mrs. Judy Banasiak will end her work and ministry in our parish, enjoying her well deserved time of rest in retirement. For many years, Mrs. Judy served as the coordinator of religious education in our parish. As Pastor, I am extremely grateful for her professionalism, devotion and love for God and His Holy Church. We will miss her talents and charisms of a clear and sharp mind, as well as her creative, visionary and extremely dedicated work in the religious program and parish. I am asking you, for your part, to remember Mrs. Judy in your prayers. Do not fail to thank her personally if you have the opportunity. On behalf of myself, Fr. Marcin and all of us, I am offering Mrs. Judy a bouquet of the best wishes for peace, joy of heart and cheerfulness. May the good Lord bless you and lead you to the glory of heaven. Nativity of John the Baptist Page Seven The Peter s Pence Collection (PPC) has ancient roots, linking back to New Testament times when people would provide material support to those preaching the Gospel for distribution to those in need (see Acts 4:34 35, 11:29). Today, the collection is the way we, as members of the Catholic Church, unite ourselves to the concerns of the Holy Father. Donations to this collection support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the relief of those most in need. How Pope Francis Invites Us to Make the World Less Cold and More Just Pope Francis has encouraged us not to fall into indifference, but become instruments of God s mercy. Each of us has been called to be an instrument of God s mercy and to be a witness of charity. For it is precisely in the measure to which we open ourselves to others that life becomes fruitful, society regains peace and people recover their full dignity. How We Can Join Pope Francis and Be a By supporting this collection, you assist the charitable works of Pope Francis. Your generosity is a witness to charity and helps the Holy See reach out compassionately to those who are marginalized. For example, with support to the PPC and the assistance of the Vicar of the Latin Patriarchate in Amman, Jordan, a funding network has been created to School in Al Huson. The parish assists more than 800 children, many of whom are refugees from the war in Syria. Al Huson is located about 12 miles from the border with Syria; in recent years, the arrival of many refugees has heavily impacted the economy and daily life in the city. With help from university students in the parish who teach math, Arabic, and English, hundreds of children not in the school system are learning to read and write. PRAY Pray for the Holy Father as he reaches out compassionately to make the world less cold and more just and for those around the world who are suffering and will benefit from this collection. Nativity of John the Baptist Page Nine ST. ALBERT S FUND FOR THE NEEDY IN OUR PARISH St. Brother Albert, (Adam Chmielowski) had a great talent for painting. He became a Third Order Franciscan in 1888, when he founded the Brothers of the Third Order of Saint Francis, Servants to the Poor, and took the name Albert. The order served by working primarily with the homeless, depending completely on alms while serving the needy regardless of age, religion, or politics. A community of Albertine sisters was established later. Pope John Paul II beatified Albert in 1983 and canonized him six years later. His Liturgical Feast Day is June 17. There are many people among us that are in crisis situations and are in need of one time or ongoing assistance. The initiative of creating a fund for the needy in our parish is one way to show care and love for our neighbor. St. Brother Albert said that we should be wholesome like bread, so that we can share ourselves with others. That is why he was chosen to be a patron saint of this ministry. How does this fund work? All monetary offerings that we want to support those in need should be put into the Poor Box in the Vestibule in the back of the church. Offerings will be distributed to those in need locally in our parish. If you know someone in our parish who is in a difficult situation, please call the parish office. FUNDUSZ ŚWIĘTEGO BRATA ALBERTA DLA POTRZEBUJĄCYCH W NASZEJ PARAFII Św. Brat Albert, (Adam Chmielowski) był artystą malarzem, przed którym otworem stała kariera artystyczna. Wrażliwość na nędzę człowieka, zwłaszcza na brak Boga, doprowadziła go do odkrycia Bożego Piękna, które przywraca godność grzesznikowi. Adam stał się przyjacielem Pana w ubogich. Odtąd szli razem. Środowisko artystyczne sądziło, że malarz zwariował. On zaś nie usprawiedliwiał się. Więcej od słów przemawiały jego czyny. Dla najbiedniejszych zaczął organizować przytuliska i domy opieki. Dnia 25 sierpnia 1887 roku Adam Chmielowski przywdział szary habit tercjarski i przyjął imię Brat Albert. Tak zrodziło się nowe zgromadzenie Albertynów. Przyłączyli się do niego bracia, a potem siostry Albertynki, które założył z Bernardyną Jabłońską. Brat Albert nowo przyjętym do zakonu przypominał proste słowa, że w życiu trzeba być dobrym jak chleb. Wśród nas jest wiele osób które są w kryzysowej sytuacji i potrzebują pomocy chwilowej lub stałej. Inicjatywa stworzenia funduszu dla naszych parafian jest wyrazem troski i miłości bliźniego. Chcemy w ten sposób wypełniać Boże przykazania i wskazania świętych szczególnie Św. Brata Alberta, który mówił, że trzeba być dobrym jak chleb. Dlatego też on będzie patronem tej posługi i stąd też bierze się nazwa funduszu. Jak działa fundusz? Wszelkie ofiary pieniężne którymi chcemy wspomóc potrzebujących należy wrzucić do oznaczonego miejsca z tyłu kościoła. Ofiary pieniężne będą rozdzielane dla osób potrzebujących. Jeśli wiecie, że ktoś z naszej parafii jest w trudnej sytuacji proszę zadzwonić do biura parafialnego.
