Nieszawska 13C, Poznań tel.: Prerequisites of knowledge, skills, social competences: ECTS division ( and %) 1 100% 1 Knowledge: 2 Skills: 3 Social competences: student has explicit, theoretically based knowledge including the key issues of light technique, student has basic knowledge of the role and importance of artificial lighting in the architectural designing and urban planning, student has knowledge required for the understanding of social, economic, legal and other determinants outside the engineering field of the realization of artificial lighting systems in the life areas and functioning of the human, student can acquire information from field specific literature, data bases and other properly selected sources in Polish and English, can integrate the acquired information, interpret the said information, as well as draw conclusions and come up with opinions supported with satisfactory reasons, student can carry out critical analysis of the manner of operation and assess the existing solutions, systems and es, can communicate using different IT tools in the professional environment and in other environments, understanding of the need to broaden the competences, readiness to work together in a group, Objective of the course: learning the contemporary planning issues of interiors illumination of public building, learning the formal and legal determinants of illumination of architectural interiors using electric light, learning the relations between function of premise and/or its individual planes and

2 normalized level of illuminance, learning the stages of preparation of designing the interiors illumination, learning the basic tools and techniques of development of correct ly concepts of interiors illumination, learning the computer aided design environment of electric (artificial) lighting, obtain skills in creation of basic documentation of interiors illumination project on the basis of selected types of public building premises, obtain knowledge and skills in designing the interiors illumination. Knowledge: W01 Learning Has detailed knowledge of selected sections of theory and designing the lighting and wiring AU2_W07 Skills: U01 U02 U03 U04 student can acquire information from field specific literature, data bases and other properly selected sources in Polish and English, can integrate the acquired information, interpret and critically assess the said information, as well as draw conclusions and come up with opinions supported with satisfactory reasons, can plan respective stages of the designing, can carry out analytical study of spatial resources and the best design solutions, as well as can interpret the synthetic data and verify the adopted assumptions can, when formulating engineering tasks and solving them, put together the knowledge in other fields, related areas and apply the system approach, accounting for non- aspects and a long time span can assess the usefulness of methods and tools to be used for the solution of complex design tasks on architectural and urban scale, with the account for non- and system aspects, in this he/she can propose new methods and tools if any limitations of the so far applied methods and tools are observed AU2_U01 AU2_U04 AU2_U05 AU2_U011 Social competences: K01 can work on a task, comprising many different problems, in a responsible AU2_K01

An important criterion of projects assessment will approach following issues: 1. The interiors analysis of public building from the point of view of initial illumination concept. 2. Preliminary concept of interiors illumination of public building 3. Technical conditions proposed in concept modification of preliminary assumptions 4. Lighting calculation concept modification and/or illumination methods taking account for changes of illumination equipment 5. Light color and illuminance as normalizing means in interiors illumination. 6. Correctness study of selected solutions (e.g. from the point of view of energy saving) 7. Study and verification of lighting levels on the planes of work in architectural interiors of public building. Forming evaluation: Partial reviews checking the progress of student work individual consultation, brainstorm, common discussion; review of student work progress 7 times in a semester (every classes), obtained 5 positive assessments is a condition of course credit. Summary score: Final review after last classes credit of design solutions presented in the forum of group on the basis of substantive content of elaboration according to schema and boards in the standardized A2 format. Final grading scale: 2.0, 3,0; 3,5; 4,0; 4,5; 5,0 Course contents Development of illumination concept the selected, determined with the teacher the architectural interiors of facility, which fulfill formal criteria. Analytical (individual) part: places analysis of visual work, analysis of functions in interiors, analysis of illumination equipment initially tipped to project of interiors illumination, analysis of assembly possibilities the selected lighting equipment in given interior from the point of view of ensuring the required parameters and reduction of disadvantageous illumination phenomena.

4 Design classes: Design work is individual and covers the implementation of documentation of illumination project the selected determined with the teacher the architectural interiors of public building on the basis of calculation, simulation and visualization of facility lighting in DIALux software. The project should include the following components: descriptive (analyses of functions and places of visual work, analysis of illumination equipment), (equipment, attained levels of illuminance and uniformity with regard normalization).
