MERRY CHRISTMAS Message from the Priests Dear Parishioners and friends, Christmas is a holy time of the year, filled with togetherness, gift giving, and heartfelt sharing. It is, in the deepest sense, a time of prayer and reflection. On Christmas we celebrate the Infant Jesus coming into our hearts as we continue our journey of faith. We are thankful to be on this journey with you. We thank God for you and we would like to take this opportunity to commend each and every one of you for your dedication and wonderful support of your parish throughout the year. We want to wish you a most blessed, joyous, peaceful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. God Bless you. Fr.Marek Sadowski, CM Pastor Fr. Jan Szylar, CM, Vicar ADVENT Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent. The fourth candle is lit and is called the angel s candle, reminding us of the heavenly hosts that proclaimed Christ s arrival. Soon it will be Christmas Eve Wigilia (the name derived from the Latin word vigiliare meaning to watch and guard). On Christmas Eve it is believed that the earth opened at midnight, trees and flowers bloomed and even the rocks trembled in honor of the birth of Jesus on earth. Animals in the forests awake from their winter s sleep and it is the only night when animals are given the gift of human speech, as they were present at the birth of Jesus. In a Polish home, special foods are prepared with the custom of breaking oplatki. (Christmas wafers) and Kolendy (Christmas Carols) are sung before Midnight Mass is attended. A wonderful and joyous time. IMPORTANT WINTER ANNOUNCEMENT Please note that the front doors to the church will not be open for weekday Masses (Monday through Saturday morning). Please use the side entrance. In the event of snowy weather, this will give our snow removal crew extra time to get the snow cleared from the front of the church. Thanks for your understanding and we do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. THANK YOU Thank you to the following for their generosity of donations which covered the cost of the sound system upgrade to this point: Louis DziaDzia, in Memory of Martin and Josephine Sypniewski, Mary Mycek in memory of parents, in memory of Fr.
