4 St. Ann s Society is having their 85th Annual Fundraiser luncheon at the Chandelier on October 20, 2019 at 12:00 PM Tickets are $35.00 and selling fast. St. Pope John Paul II Society Harvest Festival Dinner Sunday, October 13 1:00-6:00PM Please join our Harvest Festival and enjoy a full-course delicious dinner, super tricky tray prizes, mystery bags, and more. Proceeds benefit parish youth and vocations. Tickets will be sold after masses starting on the weekend of September Tickets can also be purchased by calling Rob Durak at or Carol Whaselsky at Rosary Society News New Members, both men and women, are welcome to join our Rosary Society. September 29 will be the investiture of new members and blessing of lifetime members at the 9:30 am Mass at Mt. Carmel Church. Afterwards we will proceed to the Parish Center for a light breakfast and our meeting. If you have any questions, please call Mary Ann Decha at Our Parish's annual Eucharistic Days (40 hours) take place in October The closing ceremony will be Sunday, October 20 at 4:00 PM Main Celebrant Reverend Monsignor Gregory J. Studerus Vespers and Benediction. There are many hours available for Eucharistic Adoration. In particular, we will have all night Adoration: Friday night from 8:00 PM until Saturday 7:15 AM. Saturday from 9 AM 4:45 PM The Blessed Sacrament will be present 12 Noon to 4:45 PM on Saturday. Come spend an hour with the Lord Jesus. Yet guardian angels are not only for children. Their role is to represent individuals before God, to watch over them always, to aid their prayer, and to present their souls to God at death. The concept of an angel assigned to guide and nurture each human being is a development of Catholic doctrine and piety based on Scripture but not directly drawn from it. Jesus words in Matthew 18:10 best support the belief: See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father. Devotion to the angels began to develop with the birth of the monastic tradition. Saint Benedict gave it impetus and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, the great 12th-century reformer, was such an eloquent spokesman for the guardian angels that angelic devotion assumed its current form in his day. A feast in honor of the guardian angels was first observed in the 16th century. In 1615, Pope Paul V added it to the Roman calendar. Reflection Devotion to the angels is, at base, an expression of faith in God s enduring love and providential care extended to each person day in and day out.
