The Profession of the Faith The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, [All bow, at the following text ] and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. 3

Blessing and Dismissal Hail, Holy Queen Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. V: Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. R/: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Retiring Procession: Take Up Your Cross Used by permission: Onelicense:A-724996 5

Liturgical Musings Comment: All religions are the same.we all pray to the same God. Response: The statement is true to a certain extent; if the God they are referring to is the God we know in Scripture and as revealed by Jesus Christ. And this is where people part company from each other; and it is usually surrounds the question who is Jesus Christ? Is Jesus the Son of God? Is He the second person in the Trinity? Does our salvation and entry into heaven totally depend on Him? Is Jesus defined by who he says he is through sacred scripture and His Catholic Church; or is he defined by an individual s concept or personal perception? When we baptize our children we make a Profession of Faith for them. Expressing that we will bring them up in the Catholic Faith; and saying we are proud to profess this faith in Jesus Christ. At Confirmation we as young adults gave our word that we would continue to grow and practice this faith. Coming to Mass on Sunday is a response to the love Christ gave us as he died on the cross and rose from the dead on Easter. At each Mass he gives us the same Sacrifice (of Good Friday, in an unbloodied way) as he gives himself in the consecrated host through the priest offering the Holy Mass. Understanding the Mass as sacrifice can put us in touch with what our Lord is doing thorough the praying and singing we offer to him in praise, adoration, supplication, and thanksgiving. A parish community is based on who Jesus is in the Eucharist and the Sacramental life of the Church. Family Mass begins this weekend at the 10am Mass and continues on the first Sunday of the month (except April, it s on March 20th) through May. This Sunday the School Advisory Council serves Coffee and Donuts after the Mass. Religious Education classes start next Sunday. On the Sundays when class is in session a Mass is offered at 11:15am in Falcon Hall. The Mass is open to all in the parish and we will provide a reminder in the bulletin a week ahead. Praying each day is essential to the liturgical and spiritual life of the believer. The following is offered for your consideration. A Prayer to the Holy Spirit (by Cardinal Mercier) I am going to reveal to you the secret of sanctity and happiness. Every day for five minutes control your imagination and close your eyes to all the noises of the world in order to enter into yourself. Then, in the sanctuary of your baptized soul (which is the temple of the Holy Spirit) speak to that Divine Spirit, saying to Him: O Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me. Tell me what I should do; give me Your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that You desire of me and to accept all that You permit to happen to me. Let me only know Your Will. If you do this, your life will flow along happily, serenely, and full of consolation, even in the midst of trials. Grace will be proportioned to the trial, giving you the strength to carry it and you will arrive at the Gate of Paradise, laden with merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the secret of sanctity. Eucharistic Adoration When you think about Eucharistic Adoration, a very special day in the liturgical year should come to mind. This special day is Holy Thursday. At the conclusion of the Mass of the Lord s Supper on Holy Thursday, many churches sing Pange Lingua and Tantum Ergo as part of the Eucharistic Procession. After the Mass, churches stay open for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. At this time people come to church to pray and adore the Blessed Sacrament. This is a beautiful time to be with our Lord. Did you know that we offer this opportunity every week? On Wednesdays at 1 PM, the church is open for the Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, concluding with Benediction at 3 PM. At this time, people come together to pray and ponder upon sacred mysteries of our faith. Consider bringing someone with you...or bring their concerns, fears and struggles and speak with our Lord about them. Scripture is filled with moments when people brought the sick and those burdened directly to Jesus. We encourage you to be a part of this beautiful liturgy offered every Wednesday from 1 PM to 3:15 PM. 6

Our Faith SERVANT Sometimes the hour and the person meet. Sometimes, when a task or mission is set upon our shoulders, we know we must meet our responsibilities and we are ready. These are heady and invigorating times. The first reading and the Gospel proclamation today are intimate glimpses of a commencement, an inauguration of a challenging future. In both readings, a sense of gravity prevails. The first reading is from the mysterious Servant Songs from the book of Isaiah. The person is steadfast and brave. His courage and bravery are not located in his stout heart, but in God. We are reminded, The Lord GOD opens my ear that I may hear (Isaiah 50:4), so the servant understands the mission. And twice, The Lord GOD is my help (50:7, 9), so that the servant can endure the coming struggle. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. XXIV Niedziela Zwykła Chrystus wzywa do niesienia krzyża - idźmy za Nim. Wprowadzenie do liturgii Sam Jezus Chrystus zaprosił nas, abyśmy jako wspólnota parafialna w łączności z całym Kościołem powszechnym uroczyście święcili pamiątkę Jego męki, śmierci i zmartwychwstania. Piotrem odpowiemy: Ty jesteś naszym Panem i Bogiem - Zbawicielem". Skorzystajmy z Bożego zaproszenia i zasiądźmy do stołu słowa. Og³oszenia W dniach 26 i 27 Wrzeºnia odbedà siê darmowe badania cisnienia krwi. Badanie odbêdà siê w Sobotê po mszy ºw. o godz. 5 po po³udniu i Niedzielê po mszach o godz. 8 i 10 rano.
