Will you write those words on the white cloth? Can you? Will your heart allow it? In the midst of all of your private suffering, have you turned to Him in trust? Do you believe His mercy extends even to you? Do you think the one who already died on one cross is still ready and available to help you carry yours in spite of your doubts and reservations? If you recently learned of the loss of your parish community, do you believe He still waits for you at another that His arms are opened to hold you and help you through your feelings of abandonment? Will the friend of Lazarus and the foster son of Joseph weep with you as you mourn the loss of a husband or wife or friend or child? In the face of difficult economic times, job losses, insecurities, loss of pensions and savings, can you approach the table and still write those words? With all your physical suffering and your mental anguish and your feelings of loneliness, will your heart be able to move your hands to write those words? His divine mercy is greater than all our burdens, losses and pains combined.he not only waits for our hearts to write those words, He seeks us out every moment of time to experience His mercy and love. PASTORAL MESSAGE APRIL 5, KWIETNIA 2009 WALK WITH ME DINE WITH ME PRAY WITH ME DIE WITH ME RISE WITH ME Today we enter the holiest week of the year. We gather as one people, the People of God, and tell ourselves again the story of our salvation. But in this kind of retelling, we are not simply recalling events from the past. We open ourselves to be drawn into the living reality of that salvation, played out again and again, continually, for all eternity. The drama of two thousand years ago in Jerusalem is the drama of today, and we are not just spectators we are active participants. This is the week when we allow ourselves to be drawn into the very heart of the epic. Walk with Jesus through the gates of Jerusalem. Raise your palms and your voices, proclaim the Lord as King! Make his way easy, soften his steps, give a cheer yay Jesus! Hosanna! The one we ve been waiting for is finally here! Now is the moment! Our prayers are answered, our hopes are fulfilled! Hosanna! (But watch out for the Romans and the Sanhedrin, the government and the religious leaders they don t like these kinds of uncontrolled displays ) Dine with Jesus in the upper room. Recline, relax, take it easy. It s a holiday, a holy day, with your best friends. Bitter herbs, unleavened bread, roasted lamb, a sip of wine it is the Passover. God s People are free! The Angel of Death has spared us, a pillar of fire has led us, land has awaited us, the River Jordan was crossed and we were home. The Covenant: our land, our nation, our king, our laws, our God, our descendants forever. Take this, all of you, and eat it, this is my Body. It will be given up for you. What? Take this and drink, this is the cup of my Blood, the Blood of a new and eternal Covenant. A new Covenant? Why a new one? It will be shed for you Shed? No! By whom? When? Why?...and for all Everyone? Not just me? But really all? ALL?...so that sins may be forgiven. You mean truly forgiven, like gone and forgotten? Do this to remember me. Who can forget? And washing feet, too? Can you not wait one hour with me? Die with Jesus on the cross. What happened to change hosanna to crucify him? Where are the supporters, the friends? Who is left? I will stay, I will never betray you (cue the rooster ), not ever. Father, forgive them. (Because I can t right now ) It is finished. Rise with Jesus into new life. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, the man in white asks, Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here. But where? Please join your fellow parishioners in church this week! Fr. Michael Ofiara Jezusa i nasza Niedziela Palmowa, opis triumfalnego wjazdu Jezusa do Jerozolimy oraz uroczysta proklamacja Męki Pańskiej w sposób bezpośredni wprowadzają nas do Triduum Paschalnego. Przygotowują nas do wydarzeń Wielkiego Czwartku a więc do dnia, w którym Chrystus ustanowił sakrament eucharystii i powierzył go apostołom ustanawiając tym samym sakrament kapłaństwa. Piotr

If you do, we need you!! We are currently trying to form a Hospitality Committee to serve as hosts for Donut Sundays, an annual parish picnic, welcoming of new parishioners, and various social events as requested by the friars, such as the Eucharistic Day dinner for visiting clergy. The committee would be free to involve as many parishioners as needed to help, but it would be the committee s responsibility to plan and host the events, including food preparation and clean-up. It is hoped that the service provided by the Hospitality Committee will bring parishioners together for the celebration of special parish events and for mutual support and enjoyment. If you are interested in this worthwhile ministry, please contact Susan Halamek at 216 573-1243, or speak with any other member of the Parish Pastoral Council. Lubisz przyrządzać i podawać uroczyste posiłki? ST. STAN S HISTORICAL FACT by Rob Jagelewski In 1918 Father Wenceslaus Krzycki OFM, Pastor of St. Stanislaus Parish completed the Church and School Report for Reverend John P.
