Mrs. McDermott comes to us from St. Sylvester School where she holds the position of Assistant Principal. She obtained her Master s degree in Education at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. She has co-ordinated many school-wide activities was instrumental in developing core curriculum at St. Sylvester. At this time, I would like to thank Mr. Dan Fleming for his years of service to St. Bruno. His congeniality generous spirit of giving truly benefited our school community. Mr. Fleming has accepted a new position with the Archdiocese of Chicago. Please keep these two wonderful people, along with our entire faculty staff, in your prayers for their continued success. Reflections from Fr. Emil... THE LITURGICAL CELEBRATION OF THE EUCHARIST As early as the second century we have the witness of St. Justin martyr for the basic lines of the order of the Eucharistic celebration. The liturgy of the Eucharist unfolds according to a fundamental structure which has been preserved throughout the centuries down to our own day. It displays two great parts that form a fundamental unity; - the gathering, the liturgy of the Word, with readings, homily general intercessions - the liturgy of the Eucharist, with the presentation of the bread wine, the consecratory thanksgiving, communion. The liturgy of the Word liturgy of the Eucharist together form one single act of worship, the Eucharistic table set for us is the table both of the Word of God of the Body of the Lord. Is this not the same movement as the Paschal meal of the risen Jesus with his disciples? Walking with them he explained the Scriptures to them, sitting with them at table he took bread blessed broke it, gave it to them. Fr. Ta struktura zachowała się do naszych czasów we wszystkich wielkich rodzajach liturgicznych. Liturgia Eucharystii przebiega według podtawowej struktury, zachowanej przez wieki do naszych czasów. Rozwija się ona w dwóch zasadniczych częściach, które stanowią organiczną jedność: - zgromadzenie się uczestników, liturgia słowa z czytaniami, homilią i modlitwą powszechną. - liturgia Eucharystyczna, z przygotowaniem chleba i wina, konsekracją w czasie dziękczynienia i komunią. Liturgia Słowa i Liturgia Eucharystyczna stanowią razem jeden akt kultu. Zastawiony dla nas stół Eucharystyczny jest równocześnie stołem Słowa Bożego i Ciałem Pana. Czy nie w ten sposób przebiegał paschalny posiłek zmartwychwstałego Jezusa z uczniami? Podczas drogi wyjasniał im Pisma, a następnie zasiadając z nimi do stołu wziął chleb, odmówił błogosławieństwo, połamał go i dawał im. Ks. Comprende dos gres momentos que forman una unidad basica; - la reunion, la liturgia de la Palabra, con las lecturas, la homilia y la oracion universal. - la liturgia eucaristica, con la presencia del pan y del vino, la accion de gracias consecratoria y la comunion. Liturgia de la Palabra y liturgia eucaristica constituyen juntas un solo acto de culto, en efecto la mesa preparada para nosotros en la Eucaristia es a la vez la de la Palabra de Dios y la del Cuerpo del Seńor. He aqui el mismo dinamismo del banquete pascual de Jesus resucitado con sus discipulos en el camino les explicaba las Escrituras, luego, sentadose a la mesa con ellos, tomo el pan, pronuncio la bendicion, lo partio y se lo dio.
