June 9, 2013 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time Because of his compassion He was moved with pity for her Jesus returns the son of the widow of Nain to life and gives him back to her. How has the Eucharist been the bread of compassion for me, enabling me to know God s compassionate love for me and enabling me to bring compassion to my world? In England, you might see a restaurant sign that says Dine in or take away. For the British, take away is equivalent to our carry out. Actually, take away may be the more accurate phrase. It implies obtaining something, holding it, and going away to consume it elsewhere. Surprisingly, this same action of taking away is deeply embedded in the Sunday Mass we celebrate together, although it s not an immediately obvious action. If we have fully and actively participated in the Mass, we will take away the Word of God and the Bread of Life that we have received. We will hold onto these sustaining realities within ourselves. We will walk back into our familiar worlds of family, work, and community. And there we will continue to draw from these mysteries and, God willing, share them with others. W Anglii, w niektórych restauracjach widnieje napis: Zjedz u nas lub zabierz posiłek ze sobą ( Dine in or take away ). Następnie, odchodząc z Mszy Świętej, zabieralibyśmy otrzymane dary do znanego nam świata- rodziny, pracy i społeczeństwa. 3

Keep in mind... The Women s Center June, 2013 We celebrate Father s Day during June. Many fathers feel a deep loss and sadness due to the abortion of their child. At The Women s Center, we reduce the number of abortions by saving approximately 1,000 babies each year. We are able to do this because of the counseling, spiritual, and material help which you enable us to provide our families. We need volunteer sonographers who are already certified or nurses trained in limited ultrasound. For information call Kathleen at 708-425-0707. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, to schedule an orientation email jkeenan@womens-center.org or call Jackie at 773-794-8807. It will take about two hours. We are looking for Women s Clubs, Respect Life Groups, Scouts, Confirmation projects, students looking for service hours, etc. to host Baby Showers for us. To help, email jkeenan@womens-center.org or call Jackie at 773-794-8807. Use www.goodsearch.com instead of google for your internet searches and earn pro-life money for The Women s Center. Choose charity name: Womens Center - Greater Chicagoland. Thank you. We are happy to pass on your used baby equipment to mothers who cannot afford to buy it. Our need is great because we have two distribution centers. We have a waiting list for 4 high chairs, 5 strollers, 3 double strollers, 7 infant car seats, 3 bassinets, 4 baby swings, 5 bouncers, 6 pack n plays, 3 fixed side cribs, 5 crib mattresses and 3 toddler beds. A donation receipt for tax purposes is available. It will be a great help if you can deliver these to us. For our address, or if a pick-up by volunteers is needed, please call 773-794-1313. Baby formula and diapers in sizes 1 and 5 are needed. We also need older children s clothing, especially for boys, sizes 7 to 12. These must be delivered to us unless accompanied by baby furniture. The families who receive these things are grateful for your generosity. The Women s Center» na czerwiec 2013 W czerwcu obchodzimy Dzień Ojca. Wielu ojców odczuwa wielką stratę i głęboki smutek związany z aborcją ich dziecka. Poprzez ocalenie przeciętnie około 1,000 dzieci rocznie - The Women s Center obniża liczbę aborcji. Możemy to czynić poprzez fachową konsultację, duchową i materialna pomoc, którą umożliwiacie nam, abyśmy mogli wspomagać nasze rodziny. Takie spotkanie trwa ok 2 godzin. Możemy dostarczyć pokwitowanie do rozliczenia podatkowego. Our Beloved Dead We pray for the souls in Purgatory 8

St. Thecla School News As the Kindergarten class prepares for the end of their school year they were invited to discover the "1st Grade happenings". They listened to the current 1st Graders share all the good things they can look forward to next school year. The 1st Graders were awesome 'tour guides' and answered all the questions our Kindergarteners had about 1st Grade! It was an enjoyable mini open house!
