FROM DEACON JOHN ROTTMAN'S DESK... I would like to invite you to consider joining the ministry volunteers at St.Thecla Parish... Volunteers are needed in the role of Lector of the Sacred Word and the position of Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. The role of the Laity in the daily and Sunday celebrations of the Liturgy is truly enhanced by individuals willing to assist at Mass in these important functions. The Offices and Ministries as defined by the Second Vatican Council, clearly state their importance in the celebration of Holy Mass at the Parish Church. If you would like more information about the role of a lay minister and other volunteer positions that serve our parish, please contact me at the parish office. I'm available at the parish office between 10:00am and 7:00pm to leave your name and contact information. Please call me, or see me after Mass, if I can answer any questions about becoming more involved at St. Thecla Parish. Thank you in advance for your consideration to become more active at St. Thecla Parish! Deacon John X. Rottman Weekly Contributions: Our Beloved Dead Purgatorial Society Compass Blood Pressure Screening Volunteers are offering blood pressure screenings this weekend after the 5 p.m., 8a.m. and 10 a.m Masses. High blood pressure is known as a Silent Killer since very often the individual experiences no symptoms. Regularly monitoring blood pressure is short and simple so stop in the back of Church after Mass today. Remember, it is a quick way to care for our health! A note from the Finance Committee Our January contributions were lower due to the recent bad weather as many were unable to attend Mass. Have you missed a weekly donation that you can catch-up on? Thank you for giving this your consideration. Our Lady of Fatima has asked us to pray the Rosary on the 1st Saturday of each month. All are invited on March 1st to join the Traveling 1st Saturday Prayer Group at the 5 pm Mass. Afterward the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed, we pray the Rosary followed by Benediction. Please accept our invitation to join us and pray for peace in our hearts, our family and in the world. The Promise of the Five First Saturdays: I promise at the hour of death to help with the graces needed for their salvation, whoever on the first Saturdays of five consecutive months, shall confess and receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation to me. Word of Our Lady of Fatima, June 13th, 1917. Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary According to St. Louis Marie de Montfort February 20th begins the 33 days of preparatory prayers that continue through March 25th. Year of Strong Catholic Parents/Rok Formacji Rodzicow You re probably familiar with the phrase, Seeing is believing. It conveys a doubting Thomas brand of suspicion as in I won t believe it until I see the proof. But Jesus had a different take. He tells us, Believing is seeing! The act of believing - that is, opening our hearts and losing our fears - can help us see that something better is possible in our present situation, no matter how dire it may seem. The very act of putting our trust and belief in the power of God opens our eyes to all sorts of possibilities, and that is certainly true in our families. With the eyes of faith, we parents can better see that God is at work in our home, helping us to be faithful, loving, generous, and, sometimes, even wise. - Tom McGrath Najprawdopodobniej znasz powiedzenie: Uwierzył, bo zobaczył. Nawiązuje ono do sceptycyzmu niewiernego Tomasza. Jezus jednak inaczej podchodzi do kwestii wiary. On mówi: Wiara jest zobaczeniem! - Tom McGrath 6

MODLITWA O DARY DUCHA SWIETEGO Duchu Święty Boże, Duchu Ojca i Syna, korząc się przed Boskim majestatem Twoim, w obliczu nieba i ziemi, poświęcam Ci i oddaję duszę mą i ciało. Do tych wszystkich darów, o Duchu Święty dodaj mi dar pokuty, abym grzechy swoje opłakiwał, i dar umartwienia, abym zadośćuczynił Boskiej sprawiedliwości.
