Thursday Notes March 12, 2015 Please join us at the regular 8:00 a.m. Parish Liturgy next Wednesday, March 18 th. All are welcome to join our school family as we pray the Stations of the Cross tomorrow, March 13 th at 2:15 p.m. This is a reminder that re-registration forms (Application for Re-Enrollment) for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year are due on or before Wednesday, April 1, 2015. We ask that you please meet this deadline so that we may secure available Grants and Scholarships. On March 7, 2015 the 7 th and 8 th grade students who had the top six projects from St. Constance School participated in the annual City Science Fair at the Museum of Science and Industry. Congratulations to Ms. Rebecca Presslak and all who participated. The students did a tremendous job. Eighth graders, Sean Sumugat Go With the Flow, Matthew Bryk Soaking Up Oil Spills, and Claudia Cisek The Wave earned GOLD awards. As they scored in the top 80 projects at the fair, they are also invited to participate in the State Science Competition at Southern Illinois University. Seventh grader, Jakub Kapusta Just Keep Swimming, also earned a GOLD award at the fair. Eighth grader, Natalia Dabrowska To Ring or Not to Ring and seventh grader, Matthew Burzec Feel the Heat earned SILVER awards. Congratulations to everyone for representing our school so well! I would like to inform you that the winter uniform dress code will end on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Turtlenecks may no longer be worn, and girls must once again wear their uniform jumper or skirt. Until you are notified to the contrary, students may not wear the blue walking shorts. All are encouraged to review the general dress code policy in the Parent-Student Handbook which is posted on our school website. I am asking for everyone s assistance in making sure that their child is dressed appropriately and in compliance with the school s uniform dress code. We are grateful to Grandpa James Baloun (VanAllman Family) for his donation of $78.68 through the Exelon Corporation. Monies will be applied towards the Technology Department per Mr. Baloun s request. We are grateful for your generosity.
As you know from a previous communication, we will be making up a weather related day of school on Friday, April 24, 2015. Please note that there will be no regular FSP lunch service on this day, but we will be offering a Special Lunch day menu. Please watch for further information. Our Campbell Soup label competition continues among the grade levels. The classroom with the most collected labels at the end of the school year will be treated to a pizza party. Currently in the lead is our 2 nd grade classroom with 649 labels. Following in 2 nd place is our Kindergarten classroom with 318 labels, and in 3 rd place is our 7 th grade classroom with 220 labels. Labels collected are then exchanged for materials/equipment for our school. Thank you for your continued support. This week we also congratulate Daniel Mulac whose entry has been selected for publication in the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans. Congratulations to all these talented students! This is to remind you that Market Day pickup is scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 th from 9-10 a.m. in Borowczyk Hall. Join other St. Constance Parish Families for the annual Ice Skating Party this coming Saturday, March 14, 2015. Join the fun at McFetridge Sports Center located at 3843 N. California Ave. from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is $7.00 and skate rental $3.00. Light refreshments will be provided.
