The seventh grade students are learning in a variety of engaging ways! In language arts, the students wrote persuasive essays with the goal of convincing their classmates to vote on their book as the next class novel. The students selected Night, the challenging novel written by Elie Wiesel, for their upcoming book study. In math, the students have been working with geometry, and they measured classroom items to find their perimeter, area and circumference. They created math posters showing angle rules for different shapes. The first Confirmation meeting for the seventh graders was held this past week. In preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, scheduled for June 4 th, 2011, the students are working on research paper about the saints names that they have chosen. We have been busy! W ramach przygotowań do sakramentu bierzmowania, zaplanowanego na 4 czerwca 2011, uczniowie pracują nad wypracowaniem na temat Imiona świętych ", które sami sobie wybrali. Byliśmy zajęci! En artes del lenguaje, los estudiantes escribieron ensayos persuasivos con el objetivo de convencer a sus compañeros a votar en su libro como la próxima novela de la clase. Los estudiantes seleccionaron Night, la novela escrita por Elie Wiesel, para su próximo libro de estudio. From the Pastors Desk The Revised Translation of the Mass (Part II)... What's new or particularly different about the revised translation? The unique style of the Roman Rite should be maintained in translation. By "style" is meant here the distinctive way in which the prayers of the Roman Rite are expressed. The principal elements of such a style include a certain conciseness in addressing, praising, and entreating God, as well as distinctive syntactical patterns, a noble tone, a variety of less complex rhetorical devices, concreteness of images, repetition, parallelism, and rhythm as measured through the cursus, or ancient standards for stressing syllables of Latin words in prose or poetry. (no. 112) The texts of the revised translation of the Roman Missal are marked by a heightened style of English speech and a grammatical structure that is based on the Latin text. In addition, many biblical and poetic images, such as "Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof..." (Communion Rite) and "...from the rising of the sun to its setting" (Eucharistic Prayer III) have been restored. What is the significance of the translation for many (pro multis) in the words of Institution of the Eucharistic Prayer? In October 2006 (after the bishops of the United States approved the Gray Book text of the Order of Mass), Francis Cardinal Arinze, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, communicated to Conferences of Bishops the desire of the Holy Father for a faithful translation of pro multis as "for many" in the formula for the consecration of the Precious Blood at Mass. The use of "for many" renders a translation more faithful to the accounts of the Last Supper found in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. The phrase "for many" does not mean to imply that Christ did not come to save all, but that salvation rests in part on personal acceptance of the salvation freely offered by Christ. Continued Fr. To przecież oznaczał chrzest: zrzucenie starego człowieka i przyobleczenie się w nowego. Trzeba uwrażliwiać sumienia, bo istnieje realne niebezpieczeństwo zwietrzenia, utraty własnej identyczności, tożsamości! Możemy zostać rozmyci!... Pozostaje wtedy wiara szczątkowa: paciorek, tradycja, zwyczaj, wspomnienie, religijne gesty ze względu na żonę, rodziców, otoczenie. Zanika życie z wiary. Taki człowiek przestaje być solą! Jego życie nie świadczy o tym, że należy do Chrystusa. Jego postawa będzie usprawiedliwieniem dla tych, którzy do Chrystusa nie należą. Straszne jest zakończenie: na nic się już nie przyda, chyba na wyrzucenie i podeptanie przez ludzi. Chrześcijaństwo rozmyte, zwietrzałe, godne już tylko wyrzucenia i podeptania. Dlatego trzeba czuwać, dokładać wysiłku, by się nie dać rozmyć, by nie zwietrzeć, by nasycać się Jezusem, wypracowując w sobie wiele sprawności. Ks. Eso es lo que perdura. La Beata Madre Teresa es un ejemplo de aquella atracion. Con su cara arrugada y su cuerpo fragil, nadie pensaria que es una modelo. No obstante, ella tenia una belleza que encantaba a muchas personas. Cuando vieron a la Madre Teresa, vieron a Dios. Sus acciones no solamente eran buenas; eran atractivas. Padre Antonio
Reflections from Fr. Emil. THE JOINT MISSION OF THE SON AND THE SPIRIT The One whom the Father has sent into our hearts, the Spirit of his Son, is truly God. Consubstantial with the Father and the Son, the Spirit is inseparable from them, in both the inner life of the Trinity and his gift of love for the world. In adoring the Holy Trinity, life-giving, consubstantial, and indivisible, the Church's faith also professes the distinction of persons. When the Father sends his Word, he always sends his Breath. In their joint mission, the Son and the Holy Spirit are distinct but inseparable. To be sure, it is Christ who is seen, the visible image of the invisible God, but it is the Spirit who reveals him. Jesus is Christ anointed, because the Spirit is his anointing, and everything that occurs from the Incarnation on derives from this fullness. When Christ is finally glorified, he can in turn send the Spirit from his place with the Father to those who believe in him; he communicates to them his glory, that is the Holy Spirit who glorifies him. From that time on, this joint mission will be manifested in the children adopted by the Father in the Body of his Son; the mission of the Spirit of adoption is to unity them to Christ and make them live in him. Współistotny Ojcu i Synowi, zarówno w wewnętrznym życiu Trójcy, jak i w Jej darze miłości dla świata, jest od Nich nierozdzielny. Adorując jednak Trójcę Świętą, ożywającą, współistotną i niepodzielną, wiara Kościoła wyznaje także odrębność Osób. Gdy Ojciec posyła swoje Słowo, posyła zawsze swoje Tchnienie: jest to wspólne posłanie, w którym Syn i Duch Święty są odrębni, ale nierozdzielni. Oczywiście, Chrystus jest Tym, który ukazuje się On, Obraz widzialny Boga niewidzialnego, ale objawia Go Duch Święty. 2011 Archdiocesan annual Catholic Appeal Begins Please Respond Generously to Cardinal George s Letter The theme of the 2011 Annual Catholic Appeal is seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33). Jesus taught that we are not to worry about the things of this world. Rather, we are to seek the kingdom of God and the Father will reward us. God provides all that we have and all that we are. Stewardship, in part, is the recognition of God s gifts and the obligation to return a significant portion of our gifts to assist in his work. SACRAMENTO DE ENFERMOS Y COMUNION. LLamar a la rectoria para desirle al sacerdote que si puede venir. Si usted esta hospilizado o en la casa y necesita que vaya un ministro de comunion,por favor llamar a la rectoria. CONFESIONES. Cada sabado de 4.00 PM a 4.45 PM. Cada dia despues de misa de 7.OO PM. Cada jueves de 3.OO PM a 4.00 PM y 5:00 PM a 6:00 PM.
