w czwartki po Mszy Św. o godz. 19:00 w jęz. angielskim. w piątki po Mszy Św. o godz. 19:00 w jęz. polskim, Gorzkie Żale z kazaniem pasyjnym w jęz. polskim w każdą niedzielę Wielkiego Postu o godz. 18:30. In today s Gospel, Jesus says, Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me. And after a voice came from Heaven, Jesus says, This voice did not come for my sake but for yours. Miracles drew people in. But the whole point of what Jesus instructed the Apostles to do was to preach repentance. He wanted to restore people to the life of grace, walking in death, because of their unrepented sin. This is what we are looking at this Lent. Jesus, in his ministry encounters many people who are desperate. The hemorrhaging woman, the possessed, the woman at the well, the Centurion whose daughter is dying and so many more. But all of them had a great desire for hope even in their desperate states. They took the chance that Jesus was who he says he was and they believed, in their desperation that this was their chance. And what in common do all these people have with us? When Jesus was invited in to their hearts, whether it be out of desperation or hope, he took the time to listen to each one of their stories. He not only wanted to heal their physical problems but he wanted to know them, he wanted to heal their hearts. Jesus wants to hear your story. He knows it already but he is waiting, desperate for your invitation to hear your story. Maybe you are in a situation that you feel is hopeless or you are resigned to think that something can never change. Maybe you think God cares about everyone around you but you don t feel or deserve his love. Maybe you feel you aren t good enough or haven t done enough good things for God to pay attention to you. Will you have the courage today, to ask him into your life anyway? Into the circumstances in which you see no solution? I ask, what do you have to lose? Jesus constantly shows us how different he is. He doesn t want to talk about how great he is or how his works have changed the lives of so many. He is the ultimate servant, so small that he shows us that what is great in the eyes of the world is actually not that great. But what is little, what is humble and what is loving is actually great in the eyes of God. 5 In the 1920 s, the bishop of Denver had a desire to build a seminary. At that time the Klu Klux Klan was very instrumental in Denver politics. A leader of the KKK went to the bishop and asked him if he was going to build a seminary. The bishop told him yes, he was planning to build a seminary. The KKK representative told the bishop that if he did, it would be burnt to the ground. The bishop told him that he would not only build the seminary but he would build a tower so tall that it could be seen from anywhere in the city. And that tower still stands today. Not for the glory of man, not for the glory of that bishop but for the glory of God. I ask you, for the glory of God and for the glory of God s love that is greater than any human greatness, can you invite him in, personally to your life? Have a blessed day! Fr. Ireneusz P.S. I hope everyone knows that you are welcome to the practice of the Outdoor Procession of the Stations of the Cross (11:30 am-12:30 pm) that St. Theresa parish will be presenting on Good Friday. This will be the 4th time this outdoor procession will be presented in the parish that I am assigned to. If you can participate in the production, I guarantee you an experience of fellowship and community. You do not need to know anyone else that is participating. You are really welcome. If per chance, you cannot participate, please plan on coming and bringing your family and friends. It will not disappoint anyone and is different from anything you may have seen before. Thank you and God bless! PARISH LENTEN RETREAT We welcome in our parish community Fr. Jon Kalisch, O.P., who is our preacher for this year Lenten Retreat in English.
