5 1 VENTI-O 2 You can use VENTI-O 2 to supply up to 4 l/min oxygen into the breathing mask during BiLevel ventilation. 2 Therapy device BiLevel ST home ventilation device (not supplied with product); controls VENTI-O 2 and provides its power supply. 3 Creased tube Part of the tube system. The respiratory air flows from the therapy device to the breathing mask through this tube. 4 Double tube Part of the tube system. Consists of pressure measurement tube and O 2 supply tube. The pressure measurement tube measures pressure in the breathing mask to ensure that the therapy device can provide the correct therapy pressures. The O 2 supply tube passes oxygen from VENTI-O 2 to the breathing tube. 5 O 2 supply tube Part of the double tube (see 4 Double tube) 6 O 2 supply adapter system Part of the tube system, comprises adapter sleeve, transparent adapter and grey adapter; connects the device outlet port of the therapy device to the tube system. The adapter system diverts the O 2 supply tube out of the tube system and takes it to the VENTI-O 2. 7 Tube sleeve Part of the tube system, connects the creased tube to the adapter system. 8 Sealing Plugs Used to close off the ends of the pressure measurement tube and the O 2 supply tube during cleaning. 9 Testing tube Used for function checking of the VENTI-O O 2 outlet Used for connecting the O 2 supply tube. 11 Status indicator Indicator is on continuously when the VENTI-O 2 is supplying oxygen into the O 2 supply tube. 12 O 2 inlet Used to connect an oxygen system (concentrator, liquid oxygen system, oxygen cylinder with pressure reducer, central gas system). 13 Plug-in contact For supplying energy to and controlling VENTI-O Locking pins Ensure that VENTI-O 2 is securely positioned on the housing of the therapy device. 6 2. Description 2.1 Intended use You can use the VENTI-O 2 to supply up to 4 l/min oxygen (O 2 ) into the breathing mask during BiLevel ventilation. The VENTI-O 2 may be used in conjunction with an oxygen concentrator, an oxygen cylinder with pressure reducer, a continuous-flow liquid oxygen system or a central gas system. The oxygen system must possess a flow control that is independent of the VENTI-O 2. Warning! The VENTI-O 2 must only be used for patients who are not at risk from an undetected failure of the oxygen supply, as the VENTI-O 2 like the therapy device does not have an alarm drawing attention to oxygen supply problems. Always use the device only for the purpose described here. 2.2 Function The VENTI-O 2 clicks into place on the side of the therapy device. It is controlled and supplied with power by the therapy device. If the therapy device and the oxygen supply are switched on and working properly, the VENTI-O 2 automatically starts supplying oxygen. The green status indicator of the VENTI-O 2 lights up. If the therapy device is switched off, or if a fault occurs (e.g. power failure), the VENTI-O 2 stops supplying oxygen to the breathing mask. The green status indicator goes out. The oxygen is released into the surrounding air to prevent accumulation of O 2 in the device. 6 EN Description

7 3. Safety instructions 3.1 Safety rules Please read these instructions for use carefully. They are an integral part of the device and must be kept available for reference at all times. You should also consult the instructions for use for your therapy device, oxygen system and all accessories. For your own safety, the safety of your patients, and to comply with the requirements of EU Directive 93/42/EEC, please observe the following points: Oxygen supply Warning! Smoking and naked flames are strictly prohibited during supply of oxygen to the breathing mask. There is a fire risk. The oxygen can accumulate in clothing, carpets, bedding or hair. Air the room thoroughly after use to reduce the accumulation of oxygen. If a fault occurs, the VENTI-O 2 does not stop the oxygen supply, but releases the oxygen into the surrounding air. The oxygen can accumulate in clothing, carpets, bedding or hair. There is a fire risk. You must therefore be sure to switch off your oxygen source in the event of a fault. The maximum supply quantity must be limited by a flow control device (not supplied with product). The flow must not exceed 4 l/ min. There is a fire risk. Higher supply rates can lead to accumulation of oxygen in the therapy device. Never operate VENTI-O 2 in a bag. There is a fire risk. If a fault occurs in the therapy device, oxygen can accumulate in the bag. Caution! Oxygen therapy can have adverse effects in the event of incorrect use or dosage. For this reason you must only use the device as prescribed by the doctor. Make sure that it always supplys the correct flow prescribed by the doctor (max. 4 l/min). Safety instructions EN 7

8 Be sure to observe the safety information in the instructions for use for your oxygen system. Use only oxygen systems with a maximum static pressure not exceeding 7000 hpa. Make sure that all components used are designed for the static pressure of your oxygen system. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to your device. Operate the device Caution! Always use the device only for the purpose described (see 2.1 Intended use on page 6). To prevent infection or bacterial contamination, please observe section 6. Hygiene preparation on page 13. Do not allow liquids to enter the therapy device or the housing of the VENTI-O 2. This could damage the electronic system. Do not use any antistatic or electrically conductive tubes. Accessories/Replacement parts/repairs Caution! Malfunctions and a lack of biocompatibility may result if third-party articles are used. Please note that in such cases all warranty entitlement and liability claims shall be void where items other than the accessories recommended in the instructions for use or genuine replacement parts are used. 10 4. Preparing for use 4.1 Connect to a therapy device Set up your therapy device as described in the associated instructions for use, but without fitting the tube system. Then assemble the VENTI-O 2 as follows: 1. Plug the VENTI-O 2 into the side of the therapy device. Make sure you hear it click into place. 2. Fit the adapter for the tube system supplied with the VENTI-O 2 into the device outlet. 3. Fit the O 2 supply tube onto the O 2 outlet ( ) of the VENTI-O Connect to an oxygen system For connecting to the oxygen system you need an oxygen tube with an internal diameter of 4 mm. To ensure proper functioning of the VENTI-O 2, the tube should not be longer than 20 m. Connect to an oxygen concentrator 1. Set up your oxygen concentrator as described in the relevant instructions for use. Do not switch on the concentrator yet. 2. Fit the O 2 tube of your concentrator onto the O 2 inlet ( ) of the VENTI-O EN Preparing for use

11 Connect to an oxygen cylinder with pressure reducer 1. Set up your oxygen cylinder with pressure reducer as described in the relevant instructions for use. Do not open the cylinder valve yet. 2. Fit the O 2 tube of your cylinder system onto the O 2 inlet ( ) of the VENTI-O 2. Connect to a continuous-flow liquid oxygen system Connect to a central gas system 1. Set up your liquid oxygen system as described in the relevant instructions for use. Leave the flow control in position Fit the O 2 tube of your liquid oxygen system onto the O 2 inlet ( ) of the VENTI-O Insert the flow control in the appropriate wall socket. Do not open the flow control yet. 2. Connect the flow control and the O 2 inlet ( ) of the VENTI-O 2 with the O 2 tube. 4.3 Use the VENTIclick humidifier Caution! You can use the VENTIclick humidifier to moisten the ambient air. The humidifier is inserted between the therapy device and the tube system. Additional humidification of the oxygen using bubble humidifiers is permitted, but not necessary. The use of nebulizers is not permitted. Make sure the bubble humidifier used is designed for the static pressure of your oxygen system. Observe the instructions for use for the VENTIclick and bubble humidifier. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to your device. Preparing for use EN 11

12 5. Operation 5.1 Switch on the device The VENTI-O 2 is ready for operation once it has been connected as described above. To start therapy, first switch on your therapy device and then your oxygen system (with the prescribed flow; max. 4 l/min). The valve automatically enables oxygen supply. The green status indicator lights up. There is no further need for control of the device during operation. 5.2 Switch off the device Please observe the following sequence when switching off the devices. 1. Switch off the O 2 supply at your oxygen system; depending on the system: switch off oxygen concentrator, close cylinder valve (oxygen cylinder), close flow control (liquid oxygen), or disconnect therapy device from central gas system. 2. Switch off your therapy device. This also switches off the VENTI-O 2. The green status indicator goes out. 3. Clean the breathing mask and the exhalation system as described in the relevant instructions for use. 4. Prepare the VENTI-O 2 and the tube system as described in Chapter 6. 13 6. Hygiene preparation 6.1 Intervals The tube system should be cleaned once a day and replaced once a year. The internal double tube must be replaced at least every 6 months or sooner if dirty (see 9.2 Replace the double tube on page 18). The housing should be wiped clean at regular intervals. 6.2 Clean and Disinfect Cleaning the housing 1. Detach all tubes from the VENTI-O Detach the VENTI-O 2 from the therapy device. 3. Wipe the housing and the connectors with a soft damp cloth. The valve must be completely dry before operation. Clean the tube system The tube system WM may be cleaned in warm water with a temperature of up to 70 C. Do not allow any water to enter the double tube. Proceed as follows: Sealing Plug Double tube O 2 supply tube Grey adapter Sealing Plug 1. Detach the tube system from the device and from the exhalation system. 2. Pull the double tube a little way out of the creased tube. Seal the opening with the sealing plug supplied. 3. Close the small opening of the grey adapter and the O 2 supply tube with the sealing plugs supplied. Hygiene preparation EN 13

14 4. Clean the creased tube thoroughly to remove all residues, using warm water containing a little washing-up liquid. Thoroughly wash out the inside of the tube. 5. Rinse the creased tube thoroughly inside and out with clear warm water. 6. Thoroughly shake out the tube system. 7. Hang up the tube system and allow it to drip dry, in order to prevent moisture entering your therapy device. 8. Use the therapy device to dry the tube system completely. For details see the instructions for use for your therapy device. Disinfect the housing Clean the housing, connectors and connecting cable by simply wiping down with disinfectant. We recommend TERRALIN for this purpose. You are recommended to wear suitable gloves (e.g. household or disposable gloves) during disinfection procedures. Observe the instructions for the disinfectant used. Disinfect the tube system As a disinfectant we recommend GIGASEPT FF. You are recommended to wear suitable gloves (e.g. household or disposable gloves) during disinfection procedures. Observe the instructions for the disinfectant used. No disinfectant may penetrate the double tube. To disinfect, proceed as follows: Remove double tube: Grey adapter Double tube Sleeve Disinfect double tube Sleeve Transparent adapter 1. Release both sleeves from the adapters. 2. Pull the double tube out of the creased tube. 3. Take the short piece of the double tube off the gray adapter. Then take the tube out of the transparent adapter. 4. Release the long part of the double tube from the transparent adapter. 1. Seal all four openings of the double tube using the sealing plugs supplied. 14 EN Hygiene preparation

Clean the double tube with a little disinfectant in hot water so that there are no residues. 3. After disinfecting, rinse the double tube thoroughly with distilled water. 4. Leave the parts to dry completely. 1. Proceed as described in Clean the tube system. 2. After disinfecting, rinse thoroughly with distilled water. 1. Push the short part of the double tube through the transparent adapter and then push it as far as possible onto the gray adapter. 2. Push the sleeve back onto the gray adapter. 3. Push the long part of the double tube into the groove of the transparent adapter. The two ends of the tube must lie smoothly next to one another. 4. Insert the free end of the double tube in the creased tube. 5. Push the sleeve of the creased tube onto the transparent adapter. Dry the assembled tube system completely with the aid of the therapy device. The procedure can be found in the instructions for use for your therapy device. 6.3 Change of patient If there is a change of patient, replace the tube system and clean the outside of the VENTI-O 2 by wiping down with disinfectant. 16 7. Function checks 7.1 Intervals Perform a function check every day. If the function check reveals any faults, do not use the VENTI-O 2 again until the faults have been rectified. 7.2 Performing the check Status indicator O 2 outlet 1. Set up the VENTI-O 2 ready for operation with the therapy device. The status indicator on the top of the valve housing is off. 2. Fit the testing tube supplied (length approx. 48 cm) onto the O 2 outlet ( ). 3. Switch on your therapy device first, then switch on your O 2 supply. After the therapy device is switched on, the valve opens with a gentle click. The green status indicator lights up. 4. Use the flow control of your oxygen system to set the prescribed flow. If this is not possible, first check that your oxygen system is functioning properly (e.g. is the cylinder empty, are any tubes kinked?). 5. Hold the free end of the testing tube so that it dips into a glass half full of water. The VENTI-O 2 is working properly if bubbles come from the end of the tube. 6. Switch your therapy device off again. The VENTI-O 2 is working properly if you hear the valve switch to venting, the status indicator goes out, and there are no more bubbles coming from the end of the testing tube. 7. Connect the oxygen supply from your oxygen system. If your VENTI-O 2 does not function as described above, please consult your specialist dealer or the manufacturer WEINMANN about getting the device repaired. 16 EN Function checks

17 8. Troubleshooting Fault Cause Remedy Staus indicator does not light up, or only lights up from time to time, although the therapy device is working properly. No power supply Leak in breathing mask Check plug-in contact for firm fit Adjust cap so that mask is a firm fit. If necessary, replace faulty mask. Flow does not reach prescribed level Kink in tubes Excessive resistance in tube system, output pressure of oxygen system not high enough Check all tube connections. Shorten O 2 supply tubes. If necessary, use different oxygen supply system (e.g. OXYMAT 3). Warning! If there are any faults that cannot be rectified immediately, switch off the device and do not use it any longer. Otherwise there is a risk of fire. Contact the manufacturer WEINMANN or your specialist dealer without delay about getting the device repaired. Troubleshooting EN 17

18 9. Service 9.1 Intervals The VENTI-O 2 requires no maintenance. For hygiene reasons we recommend replacing the double tube after 6 months or earlier if dirty. 9.2 Replace the double tube The double tube consists of a short part which is used for pressure measurement during therapy, and a long part that is used for O 2 supply. To replace the double tube, proceed as follows: Grey adapter Double tube Sleeve Sleeve Transparent adapter 1. Detach both sleeves from the adapters. 2. Pull the double tube out of the creased tube. 3. Pull the shorter part of the double tube off the grey adapter. Then pull the tube out of the transparent adapter. 4. Remove the long part of the double tube from the transparent adapter. Branched end of double tube 5. Dispose of the old double tube. 6. Push the short part of the new double tube through the transparent adapter, then push it as far as possible onto the grey adapter. 7. Push the sleeve onto the grey adapter again. 8. Press the long part of the double tube into the groove in the transparent adapter. The two tube ends must lie smoothly side by side. 9. Insert the free end of the double tube into the creased tube. 10. Push the sleeve of the creased tube onto the transparent adapter. 18 EN Service

19 9.3 Disposal Do not dispose of the device as domestic refuse. To ensure proper disposal of the valve, consult an authorised and certified electronic scrap recovery firm. You can find out their address from your environmental officer or your municipal authorities. 10. 22 12. Guarantee WEINMANN offers a warranty that the product, when used in accordance with requirements, will remain free from defects for a period of two years from date of purchase. For products whose durability is clearly indicated as less than two years, the warranty expires on the expiration date indicated on the packaging or in the user s manual. Claims against the warranty can be made only when accompanied by the sales receipt, which must show salesperson and date of purchase. We offer no warranty in the case of: Disregard of usage instructions Operating errors Improper use or handling Third-party intervention by non-authorized persons for the purpose of device repair Acts of God, e.g., lightning strikes, etc. Transport damage as a result of improper packaging of returned items Lack of maintenance Operational and normal wear and tear, which includes, for example, the following components: Filter Batteries and recheargable batteries Articles for one-time usage, etc. Failure to use genuine replacement parts. 29 2. Descripción del aparato 2.1 Finalidad de uso Con el VENTI-O 2 se pueden introducir hasta 4 l/min de oxígeno (O 2 ) en la máscara de respiración durante la respiración asistida BiLevel. El VENTI-O 2 se puede utilizar en combinación con un concentrador de oxígeno, una botella de oxígeno con regulador de presión, un equipo de oxígeno líquido con flujo continuo o una instalación central de gas. El sistema de oxígeno debe disponer de una regulación del flujo independiente del VENTI-O 2. Advertencia! El VENTI-O 2 únicamente debe aplicarse a pacientes para los que no represente ningún peligro un fallo inadvertido del suministro de oxígeno, ya que el VENTI-O 2 - al igual que el aparato de terapia no dispone de una alarma que indique las averías en la introducción de oxígeno. Utilice el aparato exclusivamente para la finalidad que se describe aquí. 2.2 Descripción del funcionamiento El VENTI-O 2 se conecta en un lado del aparato de terapia haciendo clic. Si el aparato de terapia y el suministro de oxígeno están encendidos y funcionan correctamente, el VENTI-O 2 empieza a introducir oxígeno automáticamente. El indicador de estado verde del VENTI-O 2 se enciende. Si se apaga el aparato de terapia o si se produce una avería (por ejemplo, un fallo de corriente), el VENTI-O 2 bloquea la entrada de oxígeno en la máscara de respiración. Se apaga el indicador de estado verde. El oxígeno se expulsa al ambiente para evitar que se produzca una acumulación de O 2 en el aparato. Descripción del aparato ES 29

30 3. Indicaciones de seguridad 3.1 Disposiciones de seguridad Lea con atención este manual de instrucciones. Forman parte del aparato y deben estar disponibles en todo momento. Tenga en cuenta también el manual de instrucciones del aparato de terapia, del sistema de oxígeno y de todos los accesorios. Por su propia seguridad personal, así como por la de sus pacientes, y para cumplir con los requerimientos estipulados en la Directiva 93/42/CEE, observe los siguientes puntos: Introducción de oxígeno Advertencia! Durante la introducción de oxígeno en la corriente respiratoria está prohibido fumar y encender fuego. Existe peligro de incendio.el oxígeno puede acumularse en la ropa, en la ropa de cama o en el cabello. Después del uso, ventile a fondo para reducir la acumulación de oxígeno. En caso de que se produzca una avería, el VENTI-O 2 no cierra la introducción de oxígeno, sino que expulsa el oxígeno al ambiente. El oxígeno puede acumularse en la ropa, en las alfombras, en la ropa de cama o en el cabello. Existe peligro de incendio. Por este motivo, en caso de avería es imprescindible que cierre la fuente de oxígeno. La cantidad máxima de oxígeno introducido debe limitarse por medio de un regulador de flujo (no incluido en el suministro). El flujo no debe superar 4 l/min. Existe peligro de incendio. En caso de que se introduzca una cantidad mayor, se puede producir una acumulación de oxígeno en el aparato de terapia. No haga funcionar nunca el VENTI-O 2 dentro de una bolsa. Existe peligro de incendio. En caso de avería del aparato de terapia se puede producir una acumulación de oxígeno en la bolsa. 30 ES Indicaciones de seguridad

31 Precaución! Una terapia de oxígeno puede provocar efectos secundarios en caso de aplicación o de dosificación incorrecta. Por este motivo, únicamente debe utilizar el aparato bajo prescripción del médico o de la médica. Asegúrese de que siempre se introduzca el flujo prescrito por el médico o la médica (máximo 4 l/min). Es imprescindible que observe las indicaciones de seguridad contenidas en el manual de instrucciones de su sistema de oxígeno! Utilice exclusivamente sistemas de oxígeno cuya presión estática máxima no supere 7000 hpa. Asegúrese de que todos los componentes utilizados estén diseñados para la máxima presión estática de su sistema de oxígeno. De lo contrario pueden producirse daños en el aparato. Funcionamiento del aparato Precaución! Utilice el aparato exclusivamente para el fin que se ha descrito (ver "2.1 Finalidad de uso" en la página 29) Para evitar una infección o una contaminación bacteriana, tenga en cuenta el apartado 6. Acondicionamiento higiénico en la página 36. Evite que penetren líquidos en el aparato de terapia y en la carcasa del VENTI-O 2. El sistema electrónico podría resultar dañado. No deben utilizarse tubos flexibles antiestáticos ni conductores de electricidad. Accesorios / piezas de repuesto / reparación Precaución! Si se utilizan artículos de otros fabricantes pueden producirse fallos en el funcionamiento y problemas por falta de biocompatibilidad. Tenga en cuenta que en estos casos perderá cualquier derecho de garantía o de indemnización si no utiliza los accesorios recomendados en las instrucciones de uso ni las piezas de repuesto originales. Montaje del aparato 4.1 Conexión a un aparato de terapia Coloque el aparato de terapia tal como se describe en el correspondiente manual de instrucciones, pero sin montar el sistema de tubos flexibles. A continuación, monte el VENTI-O 2 del modo siguiente: 1. Enchufe el VENTI-O 2 en un lado del aparato de terapia. Preste atención a que se note claramente cómo encaja. 2. Conecte a la salida del aparato el adaptador del sistema de tubos flexibles suministrado con el VENTI-O Conecte el tubo flexible para la introducción de O 2 en la salida de O 2 ( ) del VENTI-O Conexión a un sistema de oxígeno Para la conexión con el sistema de oxígeno necesita un tubo flexible de oxígeno con un diámetro interno de 4 mm. Para garantizar el funcionamiento correcto del VENTI-O 2, el tubo no debería tener una longitud superior a 20 m. Conexión a un concentrador de oxígeno 1. Coloque el concentrador de oxígeno de la manera que se describe en el correspondiente manual de instrucciones. No encienda todavía el concentrador. 2. Conecte el tubo flexible de O 2 del concentrador en la entrada de O 2 ( ) del VENTI-O 2. Montaje del aparato ES 33

34 Conexión a una botella de oxígeno con regulador de presión 1. Coloque la botella de oxígeno con regulador de presión de la manera que se describe en el correspondiente manual de instrucciones. Deje la válvula de la botella todavía cerrada. 2. Conecte el tubo flexible de O 2 del sistema de botella en la entrada de O 2 ( ) del VENTI-O 2. Conexión a un sistema de oxígeno líquido con flujo continuo Conexión a una instalación central de gas 1. Coloque el sistema de oxígeno líquido de la manera que se describe en el correspondiente manual de instrucciones. Deje el regulador de flujo en la posición "0". 2. Conecte el tubo flexible de O 2 del sistema de oxígeno líquido en la entrada de O 2 ( ) del VENTI-O Conecte el regulador de flujo en la conexión correspondiente de la toma de pared del suministro. Deje el regulador de flujo todavía cerrado. 2. Conecte el regulador de flujo y la entrada de O 2 ( ) del VENTI-O 2 con el tubo flexible de O Utilización del humidificador VENTIclick Para humedecer el aire de respiración puede utilizar el humidificador VENTIclick. El humidificador se enchufa entre el aparato de terapia y el sistema de tubos flexibles. Se permite humedecer adicionalmente el oxígeno con humidificadores efervescentes, aunque no es necesario. 35 Precaución Asegúrese de que el humidificador efervescente utilizado esté diseñado para la máxima presión estática de su sistema de oxígeno. Tenga en cuenta las instrucciones de funcionamiento del VENTIclick y del humidificador efervescente. De lo contrario pueden producirse daños en el aparato. 5. Manejo 5.1 Encender el aparato El VENTI-O 2 está listo para funcionar si se ha conectado como se ha descrito arriba. Al inicio de la terapia, encienda en primer lugar el aparato de terapia y, a continuación, el sistema de oxígeno (con el flujo prescrito; máx. 4 l/min). La válvula libera de forma autónoma la introducción de oxígeno. Se enciende el indicador de estado verde. No es necesario ningún otro manejo del aparato durante el funcionamiento. 5.2 Apagar el aparato Al apagar el aparato, siga el orden siguiente. 1. Apague el suministro de O 2 en el sistema de oxígeno; dependiendo del sistema: apagar el concentrador de oxígeno, cerrar la válvula de la botella (oxígeno de botella), cerrar el regulador de flujo (oxígeno líquido), o desconectar el aparato de terapia de la instalación central de gas. 2. Apague el aparato de terapia. Con ello se apagará también el VENTI-O 2. Se apaga el indicador de estado verde. 3. Limpie la máscara de respiración y el sistema de espiración, tal como se describe en el correspondiente manual de instrucciones. 4. Prepare el VENTI-O 2 y el sistema de tubos flexibles, tal como se describe en el capítulo 6. Acondicionamiento higiénico en la página 36. Manejo ES 35

36 6. Acondicionamiento higiénico 6.1 Plazos El sistema de tubos flexibles debe limpiarse a diario y sustituirse una vez al año. Al menos cada 6 meses o antes en caso de que esté sucio debe sustituirse el tubo flexible doble situado en el interior (ver "9.2 Cambio del tubo flexible doble" en la página 42). La carcasa debe limpiarse regularmente con un paño. 6.2 Limpieza / Desinfección Limpieza de la carcasa 1. Desconecte todos los tubos del VENTI-O Desconecte el VENTI-O 2 del aparato de terapia. 3. Limpie el aparato y las boquillas de conexión utilizando un paño suave humedecido. La válvula debe estar completamente seca antes de la puesta en funcionamiento. Limpieza del sistema de tubos flexibles El sistema de tubos flexibles WM se puede limpiar en agua caliente hasta 70 C. No debe penetrar agua en el tubo flexible doble. Proceda del modo siguiente: Tapón de cierre Tubo flexible para la introducción de O 2 Adaptador, gris Tubo flexible doble Tapón de cierre 1. Desconecte el sistema de tubos flexibles del aparato y del sistema de espiración. 2. Saque un poco el tubo flexible doble del tubo flexible ondulado. Cierre la abertura con el tapón de cierre suministrado. 3. Cierre la abertura pequeña del adaptador gris y del tubo flexible para la introducción de O 2 con los tapones de cierre suministrados. 36 ES Acondicionamiento higiénico

37 4. Limpie el tubo flexible ondulado sin que queden restos en agua caliente con un poco de agente de lavado. Enjuague a fondo el interior del tubo flexible. 5. Aclare el interior y el exterior del tubo flexible ondulado con abundante agua limpia caliente. 6. Sacuda enérgicamente el sistema de tubos flexibles. 7. Tienda el sistema de tubos flexibles y deje que se escurra por completo, para evitar que penetre humedad en el aparato de terapia. 8. Seque completamente el sistema de tubos flexibles utilizando el aparato de terapia. Consulte el procedimiento en el manual de instrucciones de su aparato de terapia. Desinfección de la carcasa Limpie la carcasa, las boquillas de conexión y el conducto de unión mediante simple frotado de desinfección. Para ello recomendamos el uso de TERRALIN. Se recomienda llevar guantes adecuados (p. ej., guantes para fregar o guantes desechables) para la desinfección. Tenga en cuenta el manual de instrucciones del agente desinfectante utilizado. Desinfección del sistema de tubos flexibles Como agente desinfectante, recomendamos GIGASEPT FF. Se recomienda llevar guantes adecuados (p. ej., guantes para fregar o guantes desechables) para la desinfección. Tenga en cuenta el manual de instrucciones del agente desinfectante utilizado. No debe penetrar agente desinfectante en el tubo flexible doble. Proceda para la desinfección del modo siguiente: Extracción del tubo flexible doble Adaptador, gris Tubo flexible doble Manguito Manguito Adaptador, transparente 1. Suelte ambos manguitos del adaptador. 2. Extraiga del tubo flexible ondulado el tubo flexible doble. 3. Desconecte la pieza corta del tubo flexible doble del adaptador gris. 38 Desinfección del tubo flexible doble 1. Cierre las cuatro aberturas del tubo flexible doble con los tapones de cierre suministrados. 2. Limpie en agua caliente con un poco de agente desinfectante el tubo flexible doble sin que queden restos. 3. Después de la desinfección, enjuague el tubo flexible doble con agua destilada. 4. Deje que las piezas se sequen completamente. Conecte la pieza corta del tubo flexible doble a través del adaptador transparente y a continuación introdúzcalo lo máximo posible en el adaptador gris. 2. Vuelva a introducir el manguito sobre el adaptador gris. 3. Presione la pieza larga del tubo flexible doble en la ranura del adaptador transparente. Ambos extremos del tubo deben estar uno junto a otro al mismo nivel. 4. Introduzca el extremo libre del tubo flexible doble en el tubo flexible ondulado. 5. 39 Después de la desinfección Seque completamente el sistema de tubos flexibles montado utilizando el aparato de terapia. Consulte el procedimiento en el manual de instrucciones de su aparato de terapia. 6.3 Cambio de paciente En caso de que se cambie de paciente debe sustituirse el sistema de tubos flexibles y debe limpiarse el VENTI-O 2 externamente mediante frotado de desinfección. 7. Control del funcionamiento 7.1 Plazos Realice diariamente un control del funcionamiento. Si detecta anomalías al realizarlo, no debe volver a utilizar el VENTI-O 2 hasta que hayan sido eliminadas las anomalías. 7.2 Realización Indicador de estado Salida de O 2 1. Monte el VENTI-O 2 listo para funcionar con el aparato de terapia. El indicador de estado de la parte superior de la carcasa de la válvula no se enciende. 2. Conecte el tubo flexible de prueba suministrado (longitud aprox. 48 cm) en la salida de O 2 ( ). 3. Encienda en primer lugar el aparato de terapia y a continuación su suministro de O 2. Después de encender el aparato de terapia se abre la válvula con un leve "clac". Se enciende el indicador de estado verde. Control del funcionamiento ES 39

40 4. En el regulador de flujo de su sistema de oxígeno, ajuste el flujo prescrito. Si esto no es posible, compruebe en primer lugar el funcionamiento de su sistema de oxígeno (por ejemplo, está vacía la botella? está doblado algún tubo flexible?). 5. Mantenga el extremo libre del tubo flexible de prueba en un vaso lleno de agua hasta la mitad. El VENTI-O 2 funciona correctamente si se forman burbujas en el extremo del tubo flexible. 6. Vuelva a apagar el aparato de terapia. El VENTI-O 2 funciona correctamente si se oye cómo la válvula conmuta a purga de aire, el indicador de estado se apaga y ya no se forman burbujas en el extremo del tubo flexible de prueba. 7. Cierre su sistema de suministro de oxígeno. En caso de que su VENTI-O 2 no funcione como se ha descrito arriba, diríjase a su distribuidor especializado o al fabricante WEINMANN, con el fin de que se repare el aparato. 40 ES Control del funcionamiento

Acortar los tubos flexibles de suministro de O 2. Si fuese necesario, utilice otro sistema de oxígeno (por ejemplo, el OXYMAT 3). Advertencia! En caso de que haya una avería que no se pueda solucionar inmediatamente, apague el aparato y no siga utilizándolo. De lo contrario existe peligro de incendio. Póngase en contacto inmediatamente con el fabricante WEINMANN o con su distribuidor especializado, para que se repare el aparato. Averías y soluciones ES 41

42 9. Mantenimiento 9.1 Plazos El VENTI-O 2 no requiere mantenimiento. Por razones de higiene recomendamos sustituir el tubo flexible doble al cabo de 6 meses (o antes en caso de que esté sucio). 9.2 Cambio del tubo flexible doble El tubo flexible doble se compone de una pieza corta, que se utiliza para medir la presión durante la terapia, y una pieza larga, que se utiliza para introducir O 2. Proceda del modo siguiente para cambiar el tubo flexible doble: Adaptador, gris Tubo flexible doble Manguito Extremo dividido del tubo flexible doble Manguito Adaptador, transparente 1. Suelte ambos manguitos del adaptador. 2. Extraiga del tubo flexible ondulado el tubo flexible doble. 3. Desconecte la pieza corta del tubo flexible doble del adaptador gris. A continuación, desconecte el tubo flexible del adaptador transparente. 4. Desconecte la pieza larga del tubo flexible doble del adaptador transparente. 5. Elimine el tubo flexible doble viejo. 6. Conecte la pieza corta del nuevo tubo flexible doble a través del adaptador transparente y a continuación introdúzcalo lo más cerca posible en el adaptador gris. 7. Vuelva a introducir el manguito sobre el adaptador gris. 8. Presione la pieza larga del tubo flexible doble en la ranura del adaptador transparente. 46 12. Garantía WEINMANN garantiza, durante un periodo de dos años a partir de la fecha de compra, que el producto está libre de defectos si se utiliza conforme a las prescripciones. En caso de productos que, conforme a su denominación, tengan un periodo de durabilidad inferior a dos años, la garantía expira al alcanzarse la fecha de caducidad indicada en el embalaje o en las instrucciones de uso. Para reclamar la garantía es condición indispensable la presentación de un comprobante de compra en el que se identifique al vendedor y se indique la fecha de compra. WEINMANN rechazará cualquier reclamación de garantía en caso de: no observación de las instrucciones de uso errores de manejo uso o tratamiento incorrectos intervención ajena por parte de personas no autorizadas en el aparato con fines de reparación fuerza mayor, como p. ej. rayos, etc daños durante el transporte debidos a un embalaje deficiente en caso de devoluciones omisión del mantenimiento deterioro inherente al uso y desgaste normal. Este desgaste afecta, por ejemplo, a los siguientes componentes: filtros baterías y acumuladores artículos de un solo uso, etc. no-utilización de piezas de repuesto originales. WEINMANN no se hará responsable de daños consecuenciales al defecto en caso de que éstos no sean debidos a premeditación o a negligencia grave, o en caso de perjuicios a la vida o la integridad corporal de las personas debidos a negligencia leve. WEINMANN se reserva el derecho, a su discreción, de optar por reparar el defecto, suministrar un artículo libre de defectos o rebajar proporcionalmente el precio de compra.
