H. Kołłątaja w Krakowie, al. 29 Listopada 54, 31-425 Kraków e-mail: lukasz@insects.pl ABSTRACT. Cheilosia kuznetzovae SKUFJIN, 1977 is recorded from Poland for the first time. One female of this species was found in the steppe Nature Reserve Polana Polichno near Pińczów. C. kuznetzovae is another one steppe species on the area. This area is distant for about 1300 km from the nearest known site in Russia. KEY WORDS: Cheilosia kuznetzovae SKUFJIN, 1977, Syrphidae, Diptera, Polana Polichno
Tom 29: 15-21 Akceptacja: 21.12.2013 Parazytoidalne muchówki jako czynniki biologicznej kontroli Parasitoid flies as biological control agents EDWIN SIEREDZIŃSKI Zakład Parazytologii, Instytut Zoologii UW, ul. Miecznikowa 2, Warszawa e-mail: colonelvolf@gmail.com ABSTRACT. Considering a number of inefficient trials in pesticide application in the past, enforcing biological control methods becomes increasingly important. Many dipterans, parasitoids in particular, are one of possible factors which may be used against various pests. However, the issue faces several problems the identification, the insufficient knowledge on biology of the dipteran parasitoids and their potential affecting the environment. First phase is not complete in many cases, it continuously describes new species. Moreover, many taxa remains sparsely recognised, but it can excluded Nematocera and number of brachyceran infraorders e. g. Stratiomyomorpha or Tabanomorpha. Afterwards question have more functional nature. It should recognize how parasitoid arrives onto host, what kind of signals is used by him? It can be pheromones, allomones, necromones (fatty acids) or plant alert signals (terpenoids). Acoustic signals must have significant role in Orthoptera and several Aulacorrhyncha cases. Valid issue is also parasitoid influence on trophic webs for the sake of top-down model. However, the largest problem is ponderous idea transfer between pure and applied entomology, what bias work tempo in bioinsecticides theme. KEY WORDS: Diptera, parasitoid, overview
Tom 29: 22-25 Akceptacja: 28.12.2013 Metopodia pilicornis (PANDELLÉ, 1895) (Diptera, Sarcophagidae) gatunek nowy dla fauny Polski Metopodia pilicornis (PANDELLÉ, 1895) (Diptera, Sarcophagidae) new to the Polish fauna KRZYSZTOF SZPILA Katedra Ekologii i Biogeografii, Wydział Biologii i Ochrony Środowiska UMK, Lwowska 1, 87-100 Toruń e-mail: szpila@umk.pl ABSTRACT. The first record of Metopodia pilicornis (PANDELLÉ, 1895) from Poland is given. The species was found in northern Poland. Several specimens, previously misidentified as Taxigramma stictica (MEIGEN, 1830), were collected on inland dunes around the city of Toruń. The host species of M. pilicornis, digging wasp Sphex funerarius GUSSAKOVSKIJ, 1934, is also abundant in this area.
