Warsaw, 24 February 2015 15 Years of the Polish Power Exchange On 24 February, the Polish Power Exchange celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. On this occasion, the Company presented fifteen statuettes of the Jubilee Megawatt in recognition of contribution to the liberalisation of the Polish energy sector The Anniversary celebration was coupled with the of the fifth edition of the annual Platinum Megawatts competition for the most active players in the power and gas market in the year 2014 The Platinum Megawatt Award for the Journalist of the Year 2014 and honourable mentions for best press materials concerning power and gas markets in 2014 were also presented during the Gala This year, the Polish Power Exchange celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of its operations. The company is the major platform for wholesale exchange trade in electricity and is in the process of building such position on the gas market. As a public trust institution, the Exchange ensures security of trading and transparent transaction and commodity pricing procedures. The development of the Exchange and its initiatives would not materialize if it was not for the trust that market participants placed in POLPX having jointly built the wholesale market for electricity Poland since the year 2000, and for gas since 2012. The Polish Power Exchange came up with this initiative to trigger a broader public debate on the functioning of the electricity and natural gas market and to promote journalism that provides a critical and unbiased view on the process of the energy sector liberalisation. Na parkiecie gazu ziemnego łączny wolumen obrotów osiągnął 111,6 TWh, co oznacza, że wzrósł w odniesieniu do wolumenu z 2013 r. prawie 47-krotnie.
