Local Flash Flood in Nysa Luzycka catchment - 7/8 August 2010 Meteorological and hydrological WARNING: Intensive rainfalls, the thunderstorms for lower Silesia province, local up to 100 mm, the sharp increase the water stage for 50-10 cm in the period of several hours Nazwa biura: Biuro Prognoz Meteorologicznych IMGW Oddział we Wrocławiu OSTRZEŻENIE Nr 61 Zjawisko: Intensywne opady deszczu, Burze Stopień zagrożenia: 3 Ważność: od godz. 15:00 dnia 06.08.2010 do godz. 08:00 dnia 08.08.2010 Obszar: województwo dolnośląskie Przebieg: po południu 06.08 i w nocy 06/07.08.2010r. miejscami przewiduje się wystąpienie burz. Podczas burz wiatr osiągnie w porywach 60-70 km/h. Później burze będą stopniowo zanikać. W dzień wystąpią opady jednostajne, miejscami o natężeniu umiarkowanym, a w Sudetach i na Przedgórzu Sudeckim silnym. Prognozowana wysokość opadów: od 06.08. od godz. 15:00 do 07.08. do godz. 08:00 od 5 do 15 mm miejscami od 30 do 40 mm, od 07.08. od godz. 08:00 do 08.08. do godz. 08:00 od 15 do 30 mm, miejscami 40 mm, a w Sudetach i na Przedgórzu Sudeckim od 50 do 80 mm miejscami około 100 mm.... 7

General conclusions: Conditioned of our climate and the manner of using of the space of warning must refer possibilities of appearing of threatening occurrences on the enough large area the reaction on the warning : rather will occur nothing - as usual the reaction after the event : nobody did not warn US! Hydrological forecasts cannot be accurate because of many factors: What water stage will be really? The increase of requirements of the accuracy of the forecast when prognosed water stage attains the critical level eg. to the level of the dam 17
