Thoughts from our Pastor St. Thomas Aquinas said, "No man can live without joy. That is why one deprived of spiritual joy goes over to carnal pleasures." In today's Gospel, we see a woman who sought joy in a desperate way. She wanted joy so much that she was willing to jeopardize her marriage, her family, her good name and her life. But she did not receive joy, maybe not even pleasure. St. Augustine said that in the end only two remained: "miseria" and "misericordia" - misery and mercy. The woman represents "miseria" - human misery. Jesus embodies "misericordia" - he is the mercy of God. Jesus asks, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" With a shyness she had never experienced, she whispered, "No one, sir." Then Jesus spoke those beautiful words: "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more." Jesus transformed her misery into pure joy. He wants to do that for you and me. He wants to give us joy now. Fr. Tony Chyba w żadnym innym fragmencie Ewangelii, nie ma tak dobitnej i jednoznacznej konfrontacji Bożego i ludzkiego sposobu myślenia o grzechu. I chyba żaden inny fragment nie jest dla nas tak pouczający, jak ten. Zawiera on niejako podsumowanie i streszczenie całej Ewangelii, czyli Dobrej Nowiny o przebaczeniu i miłości Boga. Jest żywą i naoczną ilustracją nauki Chrystusa. A zatem jakie wnioski dla siebie powinniśmy wyciągnąć z tej lekcji?... Najprostszy wniosek, niejednokrotnie zapisany w Ewangelii, to: nie potępiaj, a nie będziesz potępiony! To zadziwiające, z jakim uporem i gorliwością lubimy zwalczać grzechy u innych. Gdybyśmy choć jeden procent tej energii wykorzystali sami dla siebie, dla usunięcia swoich wad i pracy nad swoim charakterem, dawno już bylibyśmy święci. Bo po pierwsze: nikt tak dobrze jak my sami nie zna naszych wad; po drugie: nikt inny nie ma takiego wpływu na nas, jak my sami; po trzecie: do nikogo nie mamy takiego zaufania, jak do siebie samych. A więc optymalne warunki, aby coś ze sobą zrobić!... My tymczasem zostawiamy siebie na boku, a zajmujemy się innymi Ks. Antoni Santo Tomás de Aquino dijo, Ningún hombre puede vivir sin alegría. San Agustin dijo que al final se quedaron solamente dos; "miseria" y "misericordia." La mujer representa la miseria humana. Jesus encarna la misericordia de Dios. Jesus pregunto, "Mujer, donde estan? Nadie te ha condenado?... Con una timidez que jamas habia experimentado, ella respondio, "Nadie, Senor." Entonce Jesus hablo esas palabras bellas: "Tampoco yo te condeno. Reflections from Fr. Emil MARY - BLESSED IS SHE WHO BELIEVED The Virgin Mary most perfectly embodies the obedience of Faith. By faith Mary welcomes the tidings and promise brought by the angel Gabriel, believing that with God nothing will be impossible, and so giving her assent; "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word". Elizabeth greeted her:" Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord". It is for this faith that all generations have called Mary blessed". Throughout her life and until her last ordeal when Jesus her son died on the cross, Mary's faith never wavered. She never ceased to believe in the fulfillment of God's word. And so the Church venerates in Mary the purest realization of faith. Fr. Emil MARYJA - BŁOGOSŁAWIONA, KTÓRA UWIERZYŁA Dziewica Maryja urzeczywistnia w sposób najdoskonalszy posłuszeństwo wiary. Przez całe Jej życie, aż do ostatniej próby, gdy Jezus, Jej Syn, umierał na krzyżu, nie zachwiała się wiara Maryi. Maryja nie przestała wierzyć w wypełnienie się słowa Bożego.
