From the Pastor s Desk Today s Gospel - together with the past two Sundays - form a trilogy on prayer, especially the greatest prayer: the sacrifice of the Mass.. Two weeks ago the Gospel focused on thanksgiving. Jesus praised the Samaritan leper because he returned to express thanks. In Greek, to thank someone is "eucharist." The Mass, the "Eucharist" is the great prayer of gratitude to the Giver of all good gifts Last Sunday we heard about another aspect of prayer: persistence, not growing weary, but keeping at it. Persistence also applies to the Mass. If the Mass is the highest form of prayer, we must keep at it - weekly or even daily Today s Gospel speaks about our posture at Mass. I am not talking about kneeling, standing and sitting. I am talking about a much deeper posture. We see it in the tax collector. He acknowledged who God is - and the distance between him and God. And he accepted responsibility for his own failings, "O, God, be merciful to me, a sinner.".. We do not come to Mass to tell God how great we are. The Pharisee did that - and we do have to admit that he was a very good man. Yet he did not go home justified, whereas the tax collector did. Na modlitwie ja, grzesznik, staję przed świętym Bogiem i rozmawiam z Nim Trzeci moment, na który w modlitwie trzeba zwrócid uwagę, to treśd naszej rozmowy z Bogiem. Wielkośd człowieka można poznad po tym, o co się modli... Faryzeusz się źle modlił. Nie uświadomił sobie, że jest przed Bogiem żywym. W świątyni widział nie Boga, lecz celnika. Nie popatrzył też na siebie w prawdzie. Zestawiając się z celnikiem, uznał, że jest wielki. Przyszedł podziękowad Bogu za to, że jest lepszy od innych. Na modlitwie wydał wyrok na swoich bliźnich: oszustów, zdzierców, cudzołożników. Trudno nazwad modlitwą sądzenie innych. Celnik się dobrze modlił. W świątyni wiedział, że stoi przed Bogiem, że jest grzeszny i że najważniejszym dla niego jest gest Bożego miłosierdzia. Nie mówił dużo. Bił się w piersi i powtarzał: "Boże, miej litośd nade mną, grzesznikiem". I celnik odszedł usprawiedliwiony Modląc się, pamiętajmy, do Kogo mówimy, kim jesteśmy przed Bogiem, i o co prosimy. Ks. SCHOOL NEWS...Hi, my name is Grace Sturtz, and I am the new technology teacher at St. Bruno School. I am also a recent graduate of Holy Cross College in South Bend Indiana. My goal is to make our computer classroom an exciting and interesting place for our students to learn about technology and become comfortable integrating it into all areas of their life. With our SmartBoard now up and running, I can turn my computer into a giant touch screen computer that I am using with the younger grades to enhance their studies in other subjects. All classes are receiving instruction in traditional keyboarding. Later on this year, the students will create digital stories and create a blog so that they can journal and reinforce their typing skills. The eighth graders will soon be starting a research project creating a virtual trip that will encompass all aspects of travel, including reservations, itinerary, and ending with a slide show about all they did on their vacation. We re off to a great start in Technology Class, and I m looking forward to building the computer skills of our students in order to enhance all of their studies here at St. Bruno. Witam. Z naszym SmartBoard mogę podłączyć mój komputer do potężnego dotykowego komputerowego ekranu i używać go z młodszymi klasami aby polepszyć ich naukę gdy chodzi o inne zagadnienia. Wszystkie klasy otrzymują instrukcję obsługi na tradycyjnej klawiaturze. W późniejszych miesiącach tego roku szkolnego, dzieci będą tworzyć wirtualne historie a także blogi i w ten sposób będą mogli wzmocnić swoją umiejętność pisania. Uczniowie ósmej klasy już wkrótce rozpoczną prace nad projektem stworzenia wirtualnej podróży, która będzie ogarniać wszystkie aspekty podróży, zawierając rezerwacje, plan podróży i jej koniec z prezentacją zdjęć, ukazujących co zwiedzali, robili w czasie tej podróży. Rozpoczęliśmy wspaniale naszą klasę informatyki. Wybiegając w przyszłość pragnę rozwinąć umiejętności informatyczno-komputerowe wszystkich dzieci naszej szkoły św. Brunona. Hola, mi nombre es Grace Sturtz, y yo soy la nueva maestra de Tecnología en la escuela de San Bruno. Yo también soy una recién graduada de Holy Cross College en South Bend, Indiana. Mi objetivo es hacer nuestro salon de computacion un lugar emocionante e interesante para que nuestros estudiantes aprendan sobre la tecnología y se sientan cómodos, integrando esta tecnología en todos los aspectos de su vida. Con nuestro SmartBoard ahora en marcha y funcionando, puedo convertir mi computadora en una pantalla táctil gigante que estoy usando con los grados más jóvenes para mejorar sus estudios en otras asignaturas. Reflections from Fr. Emil THE CHURCH IN HER VERY NATURE IS MISSIONARY When the work which the Father gave the Son to do on earth was accomplished, the Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost in order that he might continually sanctify the Church. Then the Church was openly displayed to the crowds and the spread of the Gospel among the nations, through preaching, was begun. As the convocation of all men for salvation, the Church in her very nature is missionary, sent by Christ to all the nation to make disciples of them. So that she can fulfill her mission, the Holy Spirit bestows upon the Church varied hierarchic gifts, and in this way directs her. Henceforward the Church, endowed with the gifts of her founder and faithfully observing his precepts of charity, humility and self-denial, receives the mission of proclaiming and establishing among all peoples the Kingdom of Christ and of God, and she is on earth the seed and the beginning of that kingdom.
