I am Running to the Risen Christ! Dear Parishioners, Easter time ends with joyful celebration of the Risen Christ, who suffered, was crucified, died and was buried, then rose to Life. His life s path is also my path to God s Kingdom. I would like to share with you my reflection from the gospel according to John, chapter 20 regarding Jesus rising from the dead. When Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus was buried she saw the stone removed. So she RAN and went to Simon Peter and other disciples to announce that Jesus was no longer in the tomb. Peter and other disciples started walking, but then began to RUN toward the place. Also, the same day in the gospel according to Luke (Lk24, 13-35) two of Jesus followers were walking back from Jerusalem to their village called Emmaus. Jesus joins them as they walk, but they didn t recognize Him at first. Once they realized that He was the Messiah, I imagine they RAN to join His disciples to tell them that Jesus has risen. Similarly, I contemplate the event which occurred 490 years before Christ, after the battle of Marathon when Pheidippides ran to Athens with the news of the great victory his people had over the Persians at Marathon. He got to Athens yelled out Victory! and died of exhaustion. All of these characters not only walked, but RAN to share their news! Later, St. Paul the Apostle will write in his letter to Philippians 3:14: I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. In the 1 Corinthian 9:26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly.. Paul also RUNS for Christ. Very often it is a run with obstacles that need to be faced, in order to finish and be raised from death, just like Jesus promised us. Running represents dynamic, physical effort. It demonstrates strong desire for achieving the goal. It is not possible to lazy run. I shall not walk but RUN to pray in church. I RUN to see a loved one, like a child that RUNS and falls into his mother s arms. Do I RUN to see the risen from the dead Jesus? Let s RUN brothers and sisters to celebrate Holy Week. Let s RUN like Jesus apostles to announce with our hearts to the whole world that Jesus has Risen! I wish you joy and peace. Jesus has risen! Alleluia! With prayers, Pastor, Roman Caly Please Pray for Please pray for all those in hospitals, who are ill or recovering from surgery, and all those ailing at home, in hospice or in nursing homes. Biegnę do Chrystusa Zmartwychwstałego!!! Paweł Apostoł napisze w Liście do Filipian 3.14 : pędzę ku wyznaczonej mecie, ku nagrodzie, do jakiej Bóg wzywa w górę w Chrystusie Jezusie. Biegnijmy zatem bracia i siostry aby celebrować największe Tajemnice naszej wiary - święte Triduum Paschalne. Biegnijmy jak uczniowie Jezusa aby ogłosić naszym sercom i Światu, że Jezus Chrystus Zmartwychwstał. Radości, Pokoju i Pogody ducha. Jezus Żyje! Alleluja! Z modlitwą za was ks.
