Małgorzata Jakimowicz Sprawozdanie z pobytu na Erasmusie Witam, mam nadzieję że rady które umieszczę w moim sprawozdaniu okażą się przydatne Jeżeli jesteście zainteresowani wyjazdem do Pragi to zalecam rozpocząć sporządzania Learning Agreement wcześniej. Ja musiałam poprawiać ten dokument trzy razy. Początkowo wybrałam przedmioty z listy dostępnej na stronie internetowej uczelni partnerskiej. Niestety okazało się że wystąpił problem z doborem przedmiotów, ponieważ te które wybrałam nie były z jednego wydziału. Jak się później okazało nie był to warunek konieczny, ponieważ wiele osób wybrało przedmioty z kilku wydziałów. Minimalna ilość punktów ects, które należało zdobyć wynosiła 10. Na stronie internetowej jest dokładny wykaz przedmiotów z opisem i formą zaliczenia. Znacznie ułatwia to wybór. Po pozytywnym rozpatrzeniu wniosku należy napisać do koordynatora i zapytać o możliwość zameldowania w akademiku. Uniwersytet posiada kilkanaście akademików, które w większości tworzą dwa kompleksy. Jeden znajduje się na Strahovie, tam ceny za dzień mieszkania są najniższe, natomiast drugi umiejscowiony jest na Dejvicach. Dokładne broszurę informacyjną dołączę na końcu sprawozdania. Na Dejvicach znajduje się też znaczna ilość wydziałów, miedzy innymi mechaniczny. Ja mieszkałam na Strahovie, ponieważ cena była najbardziej przystępna. Ze Strahova na Dejvice jedzie autobus 143. Cena biletu 30 minutowego to 24 korony, bilet 1,5 h to 32 korony. Radzę dobrze wybierać akademiki. Nie wszyscy Czesi są otwarci. Jedynie w akademikach na Strahovie oraz w akademiku Masaykova nie ma legitymowania wchodzących. Cena za akademik Masarykova jest najwyższa. Dokładny wykaz cen znajduje się na końcu. Nie polecam akademika Dejvicka, ponieważ mój kolega mieszkający tam miał wiele nieprzyjemności. Przykładowo nie jest mile widziane spotykanie się ze znajomymi w akademiku bez zgody sąsiadów. Osobiście uważam że lepszym wyborem jest Strahov. Najlepszym sposobem aby dostać się do Pragi jest podróż Polskim Busem ewentualnie można tez pojechać samochodem. Zalecam ostrożność policja często zatrzymuje samochody na zagranicznych rejestracjach. Międzynarodowy dworzec autobusowy znajduje się obok stacji metra Florenc (linia pomarańczowa). Aby dojechać na Dejvice trzeba zmienić linię na stacji Mustek z pomarańczowej na zieloną. Jeżeli chcemy pojechać na Strahov to z linii pomarańczowej wysiadamy na stacji Andel (w przejściu szukać znaku kierującego na dworzec autobusowy ) i wsiadamy do autobusu 191 lub wysiadamy z linii pomarańczowej na Karlovo namesti i czekamy na autobus 176. Należy kupić bilet na 1,5h. W metrze są znaki kierujące do wyjść na poszczególne części miasta. Szukamy nazwy Strahov Jeżeli jesteście zainteresowanie wyjazdem do Pragi to radzę wybrać semestr letni. Wiosną i latem miasto jest naprawdę piękne. Nie jest to jednak jedyny powód. Akademiki na Strahovie są w opłakanym stanie. W pokoju nie ma umywalki a okna są tak stare że studenci zaklejają je taśmami. Ogrzewanie w pokoju działa od chwili kiedy prze trzy dni temperatura na zewnątrz utrzyma się poniżej 15 C. Pokój jest ogrzewany w nocy przez 4 h oraz w dzień przez 3h, przy czym grzejniki są tylko ciepłe. Tak więc w pokojach jest cały czas zimno. W pokoju nie ma również lodówki Wskazane również byłoby zabranie czajnika, ponieważ kuchnia posiada bardzo stare kuchenki elektryczne. Zagotowanie około 2 litrów wody trwa 30-40 minut a gotowanie posiłków jest praktycznie niemożliwe. Na piętrze znajdują się dwie kuchnie (jedna jest mniejsza) oraz dwie łazienki. Radzę wybrać pokój na 2 piętrze. Aby przejechać widną na wyższe piętra należy poprosić o klucz na portierni a następnie zejść i go oddać

Ja mieszkałam na 1 piętrze ale również nie był to dobry wybór. Akademiki posiadają dodatkowe wyjście przy klatce schodowej. Drzwi ewakuacyjne są bardzo stare i próg jest spróchniały co powoduje że na korytarzu jest cały czas zimno. Okna plastikowe znajdują się tylko w kuchni i łazience pozostałe są drewniane (bardzo często nie da się ich zamknąć). Po 23,00 panuje cisza nocna. Jest ona przestrzegana w różnym stopniu w zależności od osoby, która ma dyżur na portierni. Nie ma jednak co liczyć na duże ustępstwa. Panuje przekonanie, że akademik jest miejscem gdzie ludzie się uczą a nie mieszkają. Zalecam ostrożność jeżeli chodzi o czeskich studentów, ponieważ potrafią donosić. W bardzo nieprzyjemnej sytuacji był mój znajomy, który organizował imprezę w specjalnie wydzielonym do tego pokoju (coś podobnego jak u nas pokoje cichej nauki). Ponieważ ktoś poskarżył się na hałas został mu odcięty internet na 7 dni. W akademiku zapłacimy również za pralnię w której znajdują się dwie pralki. Jedna godzina prania w jednej pralce to koszt 20 koron. Pralnia (5 piętro) jest jedna na cały akademik. Na 4 piętrze znajduje się suszarnia Jest ona bezpłatna. Ilość kluczy do suszarni jest ograniczona. Każdy pokój ma licznik zużycia prądu. Cena za 1 kwh to około 4 koron. Zwracam uwagę na sprawdzenie oraz potwierdzenie wartości jaka znajduje się na liczniku. Czasami zdarzają się pomyłki w naliczaniu rachunku. Prąd rozliczany jest co 3 miesiące. Każdego miesiąca płaci się depozyt na prąd w wysokości 150 koron. Zalecam ogólnie dużą ostrożność jeżeli chodzi o rachunki. Dość często zdarzają się pomyłki. Za wszystkie sprawy finansowe i nie tylko odpowiada kierowniczka akademika. Odradzam akademik nr 7. Osoba która jest tam kierownicza jest wyjątkowo niemiła i niekompetentna. Często nie ma jej w godzinach pracy lub wychodzi wcześniej bez uprzedzenia. Dodatkowo nie jest w stanie udzielić najprostszych informacji. Nieznacznie rekompensują to portierzy, którzy są znacznie bardziej poinformowanie i wyjątkowo przyjaźni Czasami zdarza się że pokoje nie są w pełni wypełnione. Jeżeli nie macie współlokatora to bardzo możliwe, że zaproponują wam mieszkanie w jedynce. Jednak aby mieszkać samemu w dwuosobowym pokoju należy zapłacić około 60% drożej. Musicie wyrazić na to pisemną zgodę. Osobiście odradzam, cena nie jest proporcjonalna do standardu. Jeżeli nie został wam przydzielony do pokoju współlokator do końca października najprawdopodobniej będziecie mieszkać sami. Stołować można się w menzie czyli na takiej naszej stołówce. Na Strahovie w jednym budynku znajduje się stołówka, otwarta od poniedziałku do piątku oraz restauracja w której obowiązują zniżki studenckie. Zniżka studencka wynosi od 10 do 20 koron. Restauracja jest otwarta cały tydzień. Druga stołówka znajduje się na Dejvicach. Jest to tzw. niebieska menza. Posiłki wydawane są od 10:30 do 14:30. Ogólnie jedzenie nie jest zbyt dobre. Innym miejscem gdzie można coś zjeść a ceny nie są wygórowane jest Havelska Koruna. Smaczna pizza jest w restauracji Vittoria. Jeżeli będziecie mieć kartę ISIC to w pizzerii Einstein w cenie jednej pizzy otrzymacie dwie, mi jedzenie tam nie smakowało. Nie polecam jedzenia w centrum. Radzę uważać przy zamawianiu dań. Zdarza się że kelnerzy zawyżają ceny lub wpisują inne danie. Niezależnie od miejsca gdzie się stołujemy nic nie jest na stole bezpłatne. Zazwyczaj obsługa jest niemiła. Bardzo fajnym miejsce jest Stredovera Krcma u Krale Brabantskeho. Jeżeli lubicie średniowieczne klimaty to miejsce jest dla was Ceny produktów spożywczych są około 50 % wyższe niż w Polsce. Ich jakość jest zdecydowanie niższa. Najbliższymi większymi sklepami są Billa Dejvice oraz Tesco Andel.

Po przyjeździe do Pragi warto wyrobić legitymację studencką. Dokładne informacje w załączonym na końcu informatorze. Do wyboru jest zwykła legitymacja (niebieska), która jest wydawana bezpłatnie oraz zielona legitymacja ISIC (płatna). Warto wyrobić dokument zaraz po przyjeździe ponieważ na tą legitymację wpłaca się pieniądze za które kupuje się posiłki. Przed skorzystanie z niej w stołówce konieczna jest aktywacja karty. Dopiero po 24 h można kupić jedzenie. W przypadku problemu z aktywacją trzeba pójść na pierwsze piętro do biura obsługi (stołówka na Strahovie). Praga jest bardzo ładnym miastem z wieloma zabytkami. Najwygodniej poruszać się metrem. Najtaniej jest kupić bilet trzymiesięczny. Koszt to około 800 koron. Jeżeli skończyliście 26 lat to konieczne jest wyrobienie Opencard. Koszt to około 100 koron. Bilet trzymiesięczny około 1500 koron. Bilety kolejowe są ze zniżką 50% do 26 roku życia. Uczelnia posiada dużą biblioteka w kształcie pierścienia. Aby wypożyczać książki trzeba założyć kartę koszt około 150 koron. Po przyjeździe należy odebrać pakiet informacyjny w biurze studenckim (akademik Marasykova). Istnieją dwa pakiety. Jeden bezpłatny oraz drugi płatny, który dosiada dodatkowo: kartę członkowską biura ESN, koszulkę i kartę SIM. Karta ESN jest potrzebna do wyjazdów organizowanych przez biuro studenckie. Osobiście nie polecam tych wycieczek ponieważ ceny są zbyt duże. Taniej jest samemu zorganizować wyjazd. Dużo osób wynajmuje samochód i odwiedza sąsiednie kraje. Zajęcia na uczelni były prowadzone w sposób bardzo przyjemny. Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługują zajęcia CAD. Były one bardzo dobrze prowadzone a wykładowca zawsze chętnie pomagał przy ewentualnych problemach. Zmiana przedmiotu na inny również nie jest problematyczna. Na ewentualne zmiany jest czas do dwóch tygodnia od rozpoczęcia zajęć. Należy uważać przy szukaniu sal w których odbywają się zajęcia. W wielu wypadkach numeracja nie jest w kolejności. Niektóre numery urywają się tak, że jedna drzwi maja numer 107 a kolejne 122. Nawet czescy studenci na danym piętrze nie wiedzą gdzie są niektóre pokoje. Warto pytać w sekretariatach. Czasami są to drzwi do kolejnego korytarza a nie do biura. Trochę taki czeski film Problemy mogą również pojawić się w biurze wymiany międzynarodowej. Nie zawsze przepływ informacji jest płynny, a na odpowiedz można czekać tygodniami. Nie zawsze jest ona zgodna z rzeczywistością, ponieważ po okresie wyczekiwania może okazać się nieprawdziwa. CVUT ma bardzo dobrze zorganizowane biuro studenckie. Co tydzień odbywają się prezentacje kilku krajów połączonych z degustacją oraz późniejszą imprezą. Dodatkowo organizowane są wycieczki, bezpłatne kursy języka oraz inne imprezy. Wszystkie informacje na powyższe tematy są wysyłane na adres mailowy. Przed wyjazdem będzie wam zwrócona kaucja 5000 koron proszę dokładnie sprawdzać rachunki ponieważ w moim wypadku kierowniczka akademika zawyżyła opłatę za ostatni miesiąc oraz nie chciała wyjaśnić z czego wynika różnica w cenie. Ostrzegam biurokracja jest bardzo zawiła i nikt nie jest specjalnie zainteresowany wyjaśnieniem błędów. Należy wszystkiego pilnować. Występuje wiele pomyłek na niekorzyść mieszkańców oraz wykorzystuje się nieznajomość języka. Nie dajcie się oszukać.

Do Pragi przyjeżdżają ludzie z całego świata. Wyjazd na Erasmusa jest wyjątkowa okazja aby poznać niezwykłych ludzi i ich kulturę. Ja jednak uważam że uczelnia w Pradze powinna zapewnić lepszy standard przyjeżdżającym studentom. Praga jest piękna ale porównując podejście kierownictwa akademika i jego chęć w rozwiązywaniu podstawowych problemów dotyczących zakwaterowania uważam że watro wybrać inne miejsce na wyjazd. We like to have a large community of students from outside the Czech Republic, studying in Czech or English language, either for a degree from CTU or as exchange students who will return to graduate from their home university. I hope you will spend good months or years in Prague, and that you will come to consider this city your second home. For over 650 years, the city has been a great cultural centre, and has provided a warm welcome for artists and scientists. The cultural life in the city is very rich, whether you prefer classical music and art or rock music, sport and other leisure activities. Most classrooms and dormitories are located near the city centre. The influence of Prague will be on you at all times. International students are an integrated part of the university community. As far as possible, we want to treat all students on an equal basis. Of course, students have not only shared privileges but also shared duties. Credit system Study programmes are organised in a credit system, in which each course is assigned a certain number of credits depending on the scope and difficulty of the course. The credit system at CTU in Prague is compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Note that CTU awards credits but your home university must recognise them. Your duly agreed Learning Agreement, signed before the semester by both universities, should ensure your right to full recognition of courses on your Learning Agreement that you pass.

The books recommended for the classes will be announced at the beginning of each course. Only a limited range of textbooks is available in English. Each faculty has its own computer labs. In order to get access you need to have a CTU e-mail account at your own department. This is done during course registration in Orientation Week. Dorms CTU international students can be accommodated in several dormitories situated on Strahov Hill. Sinkule dorm, Dejvická and Masarykova dorm are located on the Dejvice campus, and for married couples there is a Residence Hall in Terronská Street. Important rules and restrictions for particular dorms are given in detail in the section on CTU dormitories. The rules apply to all students. (More information follows in the section on Dormitories) Sport CTU students have many opportunities for physical exercise and relaxation. A tremendous range of opportunities is available to students whatever their level of ability in a large number of sports: skiing, judo, karate, track and field, canoeing, bodybuilding, soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, softball, tennis, frisbee, mountaineering, ice hockey, etc. At the Dejvice campus: Sport Centrum Juliska Pod Juliskou 4, Praha 6, tel: 224 351 824 Indoor climbing wall, sauna, fitness centre. Students who want to join sports clubs and train and play competitively are advised to contact a sports club or ISC before they arrive in Prague. The Strahov phenomenon On the Strahov campus there is a student restaurant, a shopping centre and an area for sport and recreation. Students can also use a range of clubs and facilities for bodybuilding, table tennis, rooms for social events, etc. On Strahov there is also an independent radio studio with programmes run by students. Only the Strahov menza (canteen) offers a full catering service (breakfasts, lunches and dinners). In the area around the Strahov stadium you can find many types of sports and recreation facilities. There is a swimming pool, a sauna, a squash centre, a billiards centre, an outdoor climbing wall, and a well-equipped fitness centre. If a visa is required: (Check the www.mvcr.cz website for valid information!) In your country It is necessary to obtain your visa before your arrival. Your application has to be received by the Czech Embassy or Consulate in your country (or responsible for your country). The entire procedure takes approximately 8 weeks. Documents The visa application has to be submitted with the following documents: - Passport - Letter of Acceptance by CTU in Prague - A financial agreement/bank account report confirming sufficient resources to cover your stay in the Czech Republic - Confirmation of guaranteed accommodation in the Czech Republic signed by the owner and verified by a notary (if you stay at a university dorm, the dorm s guarantee is sufficient) - A police report, or an affidavit, that you have no criminal record in your home country - Payment of the fee for issuing the visa - 4 passport pictures (45x35mm) In the Czech Republic You are required to report to the immigration police office in the Czech Republic within 3 working days after your arrival. Schengen Area The Schengen area includes the Czech Republic and most of the EU member countries in continental Europe, and also some non-eu member countries. The borders between Schengen countries are now open, and citizens of EU member countries can travel easily from country to coutry. If you are able to obtain a Schengen visa, you will also be able to travel easily to the other Schengen countries. However, Czech consulates normally issue non-schengen visas to non-eu students. If you have a Czech non-schengen visa, you are required to obtain a visa to visit other European countries. There is a Visa meeting for Erasmus and Exchange students at the end of the first meeting on Monday during the Orientation Week. Czech bank account There is a pool of Czech banks to choose from. 10 DOCUMENTS and HEALTH CARE Health Care For students from the EU, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland it is important to have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Urgent medical treatment Necessary and urgent medical treatment is obtainable free of charge. The health care costs are covered by the Czech health insurance fund. Standard medical care Standard medical care must be paid for (cash payment is normally required) unless you register after your arrival in the Czech Republic at VZP (Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna České republiky). http://www.vzp.cz/ Visit VZP at Na Perštýně 6, Prague 1 to obtain an official document providing you the same health service as for citizens of the Czech Republic, with just a small charge for consultations and prescriptions. To obtain treatment under the provisions of the European regulations it is important to contact a medical institution that has a contract with the public health insurance system (most of them have, but some institutions are private). If in doubt, contact the Centre for International Reimbursements, Centrum mezistátních úhrad, http://www.cmu.cz/ Students from non-eu countries are required to have health insurance from an authorized Czech insurance company. They should check with their insurance company before visiting a doctor whether it has a contract with that particular institution. Prescriptions Prescriptions are issued through doctors and dispensed by pharmacies. You will be asked to pay a share of the costs, which is not refundable. Note that some medicines available over-the-counter in your home country need a prescription here, and for some common medicines you must provide an identity document. 11 05 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CLUB CTU in PRAGUE The International Student Club (ISC) at CTU was established in 1999 as a club of the Student Union. Our close cooperation with the CTU International Office has enabled a rapid improvement of the overall international relations at our university. ISC at CTU promotes the highest standard of cultural awareness and international spirit in order to serve the needs of the modern community of students in the 21st century, thereby contributing to a better quality of education world-wide through creating a unique partnership among the university students and sustaining the mutual understanding of our cultural differences.
