Emil THE CHURCH - BOTH VISIBLE AND SPIRITUAL The one mediator, Christ established and ever sustains here on earth his Church, the community of faith, hope, and charity, as a visible organization through which he communicates truth and grace to all men. The Church is at the same time a society structured with hierarchical organs and the mystical body of Christ, the visible society and spiritual community. The Church is essentially both human and divine, visible but endowed with visible realities, zealous in action and dedicated to contemplation, present in the world, but as a pilgrim, so constituted that in her the human is directed toward and subordinated to the divine, the visible to the invisible, action to contemplation, and this present world to that city yet to come, the object of our quest. Both tabernacle of cedar and sanctuary of God, earthly dwelling and celestial palace, house of clay and royal hall, body of death and temple of light, and at last both object of scorn to the proud and bride of Christ. She is beautiful, o daughter of Jerusalem, for even if the labor and pain of her long exile may have discolored her, yet heaven's beauty has adorned her. Fr. Recently, St. Bruno School 7th and 8th graders went on a field trip to the Chicago Architecture Foundation to learn more about math, art and history. The students were shown two scaled replicas of downtown Chicago and taken on a city tour to see various styles of architecture. Art was integrated into the field trip as students were given an opportunity to sketch the buildings with the architectural elements they learned about. In the classroom, students will be learning about how the architecture styles are shown in buildings throughout history in social studies. A project will also be completed in math as the students make their own scale drawings of the buildings that they saw during the tour in math. The students really enjoyed learning grade level objectives through these interactive real world experiences! Nasi uczniowie mieli możność zapoznać się z architekturą Chicago i widzieć różne style architektoniczne. W klasie, uczniowie będą się uczyć jak różne style kształtowały się w ciągu historii. Projekt będzie skompletowany w czasie lekcji matematyki, kiedy to uczniowie będą robić własne projekty architektoniczne według tego doświadczenia, które nabyli w czasie podróży po Chicago. Nasi uczniowie byli zadowoleni ucząc się architektury doświadczając światowych wzorów. Pani Ciccarelli Nauczycielka z 7 klasy Recientemente, los estudiantes del septimo y octavo grado de la escuela de San Bruno fueron en un viaje a la Fundación de Arquitectura de Chicago para aprender más acerca de las matemáticas, el arte y la historia. Los estudiantes se mostraron dos réplicas a escala de la ciudad de Chicago y realizaron un recorrido por la ciudad para ver varios estilos de la arquitectura. El arte fue integrada en el viaje de los estudiantes y tuvieron la oportunidad de esbozar los edificios con los elementos arquitectónicos que habian aprendido acerca de ellos. En el salon, los estudiantes van a aprender acerca de cómo los estilos de la arquitecturase muestran en los edificios a lo largo de la historia en las ciencias sociales. Un proyecto también se completará en matemáticas en que los estudiantes haran sus dibujos a escalapropia de los edificios que habían visto durante su gira. PREPARING FOR THE NEW TRANSLATION OF THE MASS New Words in the Liturgy of the Word On the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011, Catholic parishes in the United States will begin praying the texts of the Mass using a new English translation of The Roman Missal. This week, we continue our survey of some of the changes in the words and phrases that we will pray. The structure of the Liturgy of the Word will not change with the new translation. One change just before the Gospel is our repetition of the response, And with your spirit, which we made at the beginning of Mass. The beginning of the Creed will change from We believe to I believe. Two other changes you might notice will be the lines begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary. These are more direct translations of the Latin words consubstantialem and incarnatus. They replace one in being with the Father and born of the Virgin Mary. Near the end of the Creed we will pray that we look forward to the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting. The new translation aims to increase the joyful hope with which we pray.
