Pastor`s Letter / List Księdza Proboszcza Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. William Church: As you know we start a new month of November. During the month of November, the Holy Catholic Church Our Mother encourages us in a special way to remember our brothers, sisters, parents, relatives, parishioners and benefactors who have gone before us to their rest. This month we remember those who have died with great love, respect and fondness. We remember that we can continue to help them through our heartfelt prayers. We can visit the cemetery and pray for them there. We can also visit our Church of St. William, light the candle and pray for them too. We can offer masses, prayers, good deeds and we can receive a holy communion in memory of them. Our prayers on their behalf are helpful to them. Please do not forget about them. You can help them any time when you are in the Church or at home or simple when you are praying for them. This month the church also invites us to prayer and to remember all the souls who do not have anyone to pray for them, those who are abandoned. We can spend more time in fervent prayers for the souls of those who have gone before us during this month of November. Please do so to remember all who died. As a Pastor of St. William Church I want to thank you for your love, respect and supports shown to all our priests, sisters and to me. Also I want to thank you for your generosity in supporting our church and our school. I thank everyone who supports our church and school through prayer and offerings. I want to say thank you to those who sacrifice their time, talent and treasure serving us through membership of different ministries. The Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ministers of Care, Ushers, Choir members, Money Counters, Cantors, PPC and Finance Council Members, Religious Educations and RCIA Catechists, Deacons, Nuns. Now in that time also I want to say thank you to our parish groups: Seniors, Garden Club, Coin Club, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and St. Vince De Paul, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Raising the Roof, English and Polish Rosary Group, St. Rocco Society, School Parents Associations (both St. William and St. Albert school), Booster Club, Youth Group, Adult Formation Group, a new baby Italian Catholic Federation Union, St. Rita Polish Group. You can see that we have a very good organization here at St. William Church we ask you to consider to be a part of the ministry and parish groups mansion above. Parish vitality is a primary focus of the Renew My Church process that we started in our Archdiocese of Chicago. Renew my Church is a proactive, strategic effort to ensure the sustainable growth of our Church for the future. Renew my Church is meant to ensure that all parishes are vibrant, vital, and life giving and have the resources they need to carry out the mission of the Church. Renew my Church is an extensive diocesan effort, and its success is dependent upon local ownership, participation, input and support. Part of Renew my Church is grouping which means a set of parishes and schools that will together be charged with more formal collaboration and support. The proposed grouping for our parish is: St. William, St. Cyprian, and St Celestine. Each grouping will be charged with planning for the best way to achieve that vision in their local areas. Willie is a Doctoral Candidate in Ministry at the Catholic Theological Union in Hyde Park and holds a Master's in Divinity from Loyola's Institute of Pastoral Studies. He is a motivational speaker and workshop presenter, and is passionate about helping people understand the impact of the pain in their lives and how to recover from pain and suffering. School news RESTAURANT NIGHT WITH ST. WILLIAM SCHOOL St. William School will be hosting Restaurant Night at Bakers Square, 3649 N. Harlem Ave. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 7 am till 11 pm. Take the flyer, present it at the time of your order and Bakers Square will donate 20% back to the school. Come join us, by having breakfast, lunch and dinner and help support St. William School. THE FIRST GRADERS were very excited about their first field trip To Safety Town. We learned about Personal Safety, Fire Safety and Street Safety. We even received a little goody bag to take home as a remembrance of our trip. This year we are focusing on the Golden Rule, "Treat Others the Way You Want to be Treated." By listening to the Parables of Jesus, we are learning how to show kindness and forgiveness to all those we meet. We are working hard to be followers of Jesus. Join us for the Bible Study! Bible Study has already started at St. William Parish! We usually meet on 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Most of their learning occurs through observing and exploring the world around them. The children are beginning to develop a sense of time through daily activities. They attend music, gym, library, and computer classes. The children enjoy listening to stories, creating works of art, making new friends, and learning about God. We went on our first field trip to Siegel s Cottonwood Farm and had a great time! The preschool children would like to thank everyone who supports St. William School. May God bless you! THANKSGIVING SHARING Soon we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.giving Thanks to God for all his gifts and sharing with family and friends. For many this is a difficult time, as some of our fellow parishioners and community members are experiencing hardships due to life s unexpected turns. Please consider sharing.at the Thanksgiving Day 8:15 am mass you can bring your donations of non-perishable items and place in boxes decorated by the St. William School students; these boxes will be located around the altar rail. If you can help, here are some items that we are in need of: soups, peanut butter, pasta and sauce, cereals, tuna, (any flip top canned goods), paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste. We will also accept gift cards/certificates to local stores; Super- Low, Walgreens, Jewel. PLEASE ALSO BE MINDFUL OF THE QUALITY OF THE ITEMS BEING DONATED AND THE EXPIRATION DATES. If you are unable to attend mass that day, St. VDP containers are always available at the all the entrances of the church. Niech pan lepiej wyrzuci ten Różaniec przez okno i przestudiuje co nauka ma na ten temat do powiedzenia"."nauka? Nie rozumiem tej nauki.może by pan mi ją wyjaśnił?"-poprosił skromnie męszczyzna."proszę mi dać swój adres,to prześlę literaturę na ten temat"-odpowiedział student.męszczyzna wyjął z kieszeni płaszcza wizytówkę.było na niej napisane:ludwik Pasteur,Dyrektor Instytutu Badań naukowych,paryż. 6
ROZWAŻANIA NA 32NIEDZIELE ZWYKŁĄ 2 MACH 7,1-2.9-14; 2 TYM 2,16-3,5; ŁK 20,27-38 W atmosferze listopadowej aury, kiedy więcej czasu poświęcamy naszym zmarłym ewangelie zachęcają nas do poruszenia tematu zmartwychwstania, jako klucza do zrozumienia życia wiecznego z Bogiem po ich i w przyszłości po naszej śmierci. Podstawy ku temu dziś dają słowa Jezusa, który wprost zapytany przez saduceuszów nie uznających zmartwychwstania, daje tu więcej światła. Saduceusze, chcąc wypróbować Jezusa, posłużyli się przykładem żeniaczki kobiety, która gdy owdowiała, wyszła za mąż za sześciu kolejnych braci jej męża, co dopuszczało Prawo żydowskie. Oczywiście casus był pewnie zmyślony, by wykazać nielogiczność zmartwychwstania. Jezus w odpowiedzi ukazuje logikę Boga, która nie ma wiele wspólnego z relacjami ziemskimi: Dzieci tego świata żenią się i za mąż wychodzą. Lecz ci, którzy są uznani za godnych udziału w świecie przyszłym i w powstaniu z martwych, ani się nie żenią, ani za mąż wychodzą. Już bowiem umrzeć nie mogą, gdyż są równi aniołom i są dziećmi Bożymi, będąc uczestnikami zmartwychwstania. Pewnie nie takiej odpowiedzi się spodziewali saduceusze, dlatego Jezus przywołuje na dokładkę argument biblijny ze Starego Testamentu, który oni powinni dobrze znać: A że umarli zmartwychwstają, to i Mojżesz zaznaczył tam, gdzie jest mowa o krzaku, gdy Pana nazywa Bogiem Abrahama, Bogiem Izaaka i Bogiem Jakuba. Bóg nie jest Bogiem umarłych, lecz żywych; wszyscy bowiem dla Niego żyją. Aż dzwne, że nie przyjęli innego argumentu biblijnego z ich Ksiąg Machabejskich o dzielnej matce i jej synach, którzy umierając męczeńsko z rąk prześladowców, wyznawali wiarę w zmartwychwstanie i życie z Bogiem po śmierci. Jak widać ich błąd leżał u podstaw: od początku wykluczali wiarę w zmartwychwstanie i życie wieczne. W Jezusie Chrystusie, w Jego zbawczej męce i zmartwychwstaniu, mamy większe podstawy do tej wiary.
