FIRST AID MEASURES 4.1 Description of first aid measures: Relevant routes of exposure: Inhalation: Skin contact: Eye contact: Ingestion: Fresh air and rest. Solvent abuse can kill instantly. In case of accident, seek medical advice immediately. In case of difficulties in breathing, supply oxygen. In the event of frostbite, rinse copiously with water. 3 Wash out mouth with water. If material has been swallowed and the exposed person is conscious, give small quantities of water to drink. Stop if the exposed person feels sick as vomiting may be dangerous. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Chemical burns must be treated promptly by a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, incoordination, lethargy, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and disorientation. Local necrosis as evidenced by delayed onset of pain and tissue damage a few hours after injection. 4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically. For propane/butane: This light hydrocarbon material, or a component, may be associated with cardiac sensitisation following very high exposures (well above occupational exposure limits) or with concurrent exposure to high stress levels or heart-stimulating substances like epinephrine. Administration of such substances should be avoided. SECTION 5. FIREFIGHTING MEASURES 5.1 Extinguishing media: Water spray/fog, CO 2, dry powder, alcohol-resist foam. 5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Closed container may rupture if strongly heated.
