5 Nadchodzi miesiąc Październik który tradycyjnie jest miesiącem w szczególny sposób poświęconym modlitwie różańcowej. Przez cały miesiąc odprawia się nabożeństwa różańcowe,które my Polacy otoczamy wyjątkową czcią. Rozważanie różańca oznacza odmawianie modlitwy oraz medytację w tym samym czasie. Każda z tajemnic różańca koncentruje się na jednym ważnym wydarzeniu z życia Jezusa Chrystusa i jego matki, Maryi i pomaga nam naśladować Ich w naszym życiu osobistym, rodzinnym i społecznym. Jest to modlitwa, która przemienia świat, zwłaszcza gdy jest odmawiana wspólnie. Nasze rodziny, narody i świat walczą teraz z przytłaczającymi siłami zła. Dziś potrzebujemy pomocy Maryi bardziej niż kiedykolwiek przedtem. Wiele razy w historii modlitwa różańcowa odmawiana z wiarą zaważyła na losach narodów. Prawdziwi czciciele Mego Różańca nie umrą bez Sakramentów Świętych. 8. Chcę, aby odmawiający Mój Różaniec, mieli w życiu i przy śmierci światło i pełnię łask, aby w życiu i przy śmierci uczestniczyli w zasługach Świętych. 9. Codziennie uwalniam z czyśćca dusze, które Mnie czciły modlitwą różańcową. 10. Prawdziwi synowie Mego Różańca osiągną wielką chwałę w niebie. 11. O cokolwiek przez Różaniec prosić będziesz - otrzymasz. 12. Rozszerzającym Mój Różaniec przybędę z pomocą w każdej potrzebie. 13. Uzyskałam u Syna Mojego, aby wpisani do Bractwa Mojego Różańca - mieli w życiu i przy śmierci za braci wszystkich mieszkańców nieba. 14. Odmawiający Mój Różaniec są Moimi dziećmi, a braćmi Jezusa Chrystusa, Syna Mojego Jednorodzonego. 15. Nabożeństwo do Mego Różańca jest wielkim znakiem przeznaczenia do Nieba. 6 ft Çàá Éy à{x jxx~ PADRE PIO (FEAST DAY SEPT 23) Padre Pio was born on May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, southern Italy. He was tutored privately until his entry to the novitiate of the Capuchin Friars at the age of 15. Of feeble health but strong will, with the help of grace, he completed the required studies and was ordained a priest in On September 20, 1918 the five wounds of our Lord s passion appeared on his body, making him the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Catholic Church. Countless persons were attracted to his confessional and many more received his saintly counsel and spiritual guidance through correspondence. His whole life was marked by long hours of prayer and continual austerity. His letters to his spiritual directors reveal the ineffable suffering, physical and spiritual, which accompanied him all through his life. They also reveal his deep union with God, his burning love for the Blessed Eucharist and Our Blessed Lady. On January 9, 1940, Padre Pio announced his grandiose plans to develop a Home for the Relief of Suffering (the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza). The Casa opened its doors on May 5, 1956 as a 300 bed facility, built on the small, sincere and spontaneous donations and prayers of his followers. He also developed an international network of prayer groups for the support of the Casa and its ministry that continues to live on and grow today. Worn out by over half a century of intense suffering and constant apostolic activity in San Giovanni Rotondo, Padre Pio was called to his heavenly reward on September 23, On December 18, 1997, by the reading of the decree on the herocity of virtues, the Holy Father John Paul II declared Padre Pio Venerable., and on June 16, 2002, over 500,000 Padre Pio devotees gathered in Rome to witness Pope John Paul II proclaim Padre Pio, Saint Pio of Pietrelcina. Sts. COSMAS AND DAMIAN (FEAST DAY SEPT 26) Little is known of the lives of these two saints except that they suffered martyrdom in Syria during the persecution of the Emperor Diocletian. Being prominent practitioners of medicine, it would have been hard for them to have remained unnoticed. A church erected on the site of their burial was enlarged by the emperor Justinian. Devotion to the two saints spread rapidly in both East and West, and a famous basilica was erected in their honor in Constantinople. Their names were placed in the Roman Canon probably in the sixth century. Legend says that they were twin brothers born in Arabia who were both skilled doctors. They were among those who are venerated in the East as the moneyless ones because, purportedly, they did not charge a fee for their services. Nine centuries later, Francis of Assisi rebuilt the dilapidated San Damiano chapel outside Assisi. St. VINCENT De PAUL (FEAST DAY SEPT 2 7) The deathbed confession of a dying servant opened Vincent de Paul s eyes to the crying spiritual needs of the peasantry of France. This seems to have been a crucial moment in the life of the man from a small farm in Gascony, France, who had become a priest with little more ambition than to have a comfortable life. Vincent established confraternities of charity for the spiritual and physical relief of the poor and sick of each parish. From these, with the help of Saint Louise de Marillac, came the Daughters of Charity, whose convent is the sickroom, whose chapel is the parish church, whose cloister is the streets of the city. He organized the rich women of Paris to collect funds for his missionary projects, founded several hospitals, collected relief funds for the victims of war, and ransomed over 1,200 galley slaves from North Africa. He was zealous in conducting retreats for clergy at a time when there was great laxity, abuse, and ignorance among them. He was a pioneer in clerical training and was instrumental in establishing seminaries. Most remarkably, Vincent was by temperament a very irascible person even his friends admitted it. He said that except for the grace of God he would have been hard and repulsive, rough and cross. But he became a tender and affectionate man, very sensitive to the needs of others. Pope Leo XIII made him the patron of all charitable societies. Outstanding among these, of course, is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, founded in 1833 by his admirer Blessed Frédéric Ozanam. ST. WENCESLAUS (FEAST DAY SEPT 28) If saints have been falsely characterized as other worldly, the life of Wenceslaus stands as an example to the contrary: He stood for Christian values in the midst of the political intrigues which characterized 10th-century Bohemia. His rule was marked by efforts toward unification within Bohemia, support of the Church, and peace-making negotiations with Germany, a policy which caused him trouble with the anti-christian opposition. His brother Boleslav joined in the plotting, and in September of 929 invited Wenceslaus to Alt Bunglou for the celebration of the feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian. On the way to Mass, Boleslav attacked his brother, and in the struggle, Wenceslaus was killed by supporters of Boleslav. Although his death resulted primarily from political upheaval, Wenceslaus was hailed as a martyr for the faith, and his tomb became a pilgrimage shrine. He is hailed as the patron of the Bohemian people and of the former Czechoslovakia. Good King Wenceslaus was able to incarnate his Christianity in a world filled with political unrest. While we are often victims of violence of a different sort, we can easily identify with his struggle to bring harmony to society.
